It was probably the latter. I wanted his opinion, because I respect him to a remarkable extent; not to out-do him, or anything selfish and stupid like that. Who wouldn't want an opinion from somebody they look up to so much?

For some reason, Chunks of Paradise pops into my head.
And I get the idea for a song about digging for diamonds near the bottom of the world. It would be exciting and slightly fast-paced, about the risk of digging into lava or the wonder of finding diamond.

Hmm, that would go well with a beat, since mining like that is repetitive and somewhat monotonous. Then I'd mix in a good dose of fear, hope, and mystery. Good ideas here.
