why is he holding his revolver like Dan from Killer 7
[sp]Two different guys you weren't paying attention. The guy that came back is not Hispanic and you saw him at the start.[/sp]
Also it does feel rushed and cheaply made and blocky and I wish he would go back and remodel a ton of stuff. But it's hardly Strider Mountain quality. And at least the gameplay is original and cool.
And really, did no one play the prologue when it came out two years ago?
[sp]Is he really? Damn I could have sworn they had the same name.[/sp]
As for strider mountain, I just meant that it goes on for ever more than anything else. Never even finished SM for that reason alone.
[sp]I didn't remember much of the prologue until the guy explained what code red was, then everything came back and clicked It was a bit of an 'oh shit' moment.[/sp]
The mod was pretty neat, but the ending felt like it dragged on for ages.
So i progressed a bit more
[sp]did the dreams, reached prision etc i was in the point where you need to deactivate the power in various rooms, i had only one left but since Hawken got killed by that son of a bitch i had to get his keys,[/sp] As soon i picked them up..... [sp] THE FUCKING GIANT SWORD MONSTER SPAWNS[/sp], so after i screamed like a little girl in the same moment my electricity gets cut outta the nowhere
YEP NO MORE UNDERHELL FOR ME
is there anyway to turn noclip mode on? becouse i couldnt get back to the savepoint and i REALLY dont wanna go trough that again
Sv_cheats 1 and noclip, dude
This is not very good.

If you turn on mat_wireframe, you can see that 90% of the maps are rendered at any one time which is why it runs like shit in some of the larger levels. I am also very disappointed they made very little effort to make their own assets, and I have no clue why there is even a SWAT portion in the game which appears to take a lot of gameplay elements from SMOD. It's fine, but I'm not sure if it was necessary.

But they said they remade the prologue.
so does this still have that glaringly hilarious narrative dissonance where you jump from pretentious 2deep4u scary house to super tactical generic shooter SMOD Tactical fps?
the [sp]battle with the butcher reminded me so much of dead rising[/sp]

Kind of...I guess? But then again, the house was never really involved in the rest of the story any way.
What is it with people using 'pretentious' to describe everything they don't like lately?
Uhg this couldn't've come out at a worse time.
I want to play this so fucking bad and my PC's in the shitter
But they said they remade the prologue.
I dont know then, I just say play Chapter 1. I played the old prologue years back and it was pretty bad, I only liked the House part of Underhell, but the Chapter 1 that just got released, I think was really fun and I shockingly enjoyed it.
[sp]Looking for a fourth Cypher part. It's a rotor. The catch is IT'S FUCKING NOWHERE I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR HOURS NOW. Any help?[/sp]

The game goes from running at over 120 FPS max settings, to looking at certain objects causing it to drop sub 30. It's not even that visually impressive, what's going on behind the scenes?
Does anyone[sp]know how to beat the butcher boss?[/sp]I've died countless times,[sp]and there seems to be no way that I could find to beat him.[/sp]Or maybe I'm just stupid.

I love stories like this, it's like Metal Gear Solid with more crack and the ending led straight to Resident Evil/FEAR territory.
From reading this thread it seems what people don't like is how long it is because no one played the amazing Prologue two years ago for whatever reason so they think it drags on. Having played the prologue and starting Chapter 1 it was just the right length, whenever it was about to end i was like, 'No don't end like that.' and then it went on, and then the real ending was pretty nice and final for a chapter. No loose ends really but enough to make me want to play the next part. And judging by the chapter select menu this guy wants to make 5 more parts oh gash, I'll see you guys in 2050 when the final part is finished.
As sloppy as the mapping is I have great respect that one guy did it, because getting all that voice acting recorded and lip synced on broken tools, and then adding subtitles in the most finicky Valve way and then messing with the AI in Hammer until it works properly is something I can't even fathom. So I'll let the blocky maps slide for that.

[sp] There's 3 storage rooms if I'm not wrong;
the first one is right after the loading transition between the shooting range and the medical bay, to the right
the second one is really close to the workshop, I'm not too sure now
the last one is close to the locker rooms, the only place you can find them is in the storage rooms, that's it[/sp]
This whole mod reminds me of a late 90's - 2000 FPS, in it's design and gameplay.
That's actually kind of charming to me, come to think of it.
I really enjoyed this. I thought it would be something short as Prologue, but damn, I did not expect such a long game. And it's only Chapter 1. Really amazing work they did. Well, time to wait another 2 years for Chapter 2 I guess.
Also, did anyone try to play the house? I saw some mirrors around the house, which makes it even creepier. But I don't know if there are any new scares?

Yes, there are more scares.
Just finished this up. There's no doubt in my mind that this is the best source mod I've ever played.
Somewhere between the character development, voice acting, and map layouts, I'd probably even go so far as to say that I enjoyed it more than stock HL2 (excluding the prologue).
So far im having a great experience, Tough mapping is a bit blocky, voice acting is as well a bit off sometimes but gameplay wise is pretty neat and the shotgun is pretty much a god hand
I don't understand why people are saying this mod is bad. If you're judging off the prologue just skip that shit because the first chapter gets some dead rising vibes later and it plays nearly nothing like the prologue
So I've put the folder in "sourcemods" and I've installed both SOURCE SDK 2007 and 2006, yet the game wont show up in my steam games list.
What do

You restart steam each time you install a source mod. Seriously, how can you not know this?

You don't think I already fucking have?
Is it the correct folder? Sometimes when you extract a .zip or something it will have a folder and then another folder inside of it with the actual mod. You have it as sourcemods/Underhell and then all of the maps, materials, models, bin folders etc.?
