Damn, good mod. Didn't expect a source mod to be [sp]~11-12[/sp] hours long. Can't check for sure because steam hates keeping track of source mods.
Obviously you haven't played Strider Mountain AKA Weird Doors and Gamebanana Skins for 70 hours.
Leon mods are off the table, they reach the 40 hour mark. He's very much quantity over quality.
Leon mods are off the table, they reach the 40 hour mark. If a door has a handle it shouldn't slide upwards. And if a door is massive and made out of steel it shouldn't swing open like a locker in a horror game.
Just finished the mod now, wow, really good, nice atmosphere and the gameplay mechanics are awesome, but what the mod have of fun, lacks from level design, still definitely worth to play, now i want the second chapter!
Just finished it too and well...I wasnt expecting any of that , gameplay wise i really enjoed it Side quests, various ways to approach a combat ( even tough stealth / hiding is pretty broken unless you kill everybody with a silencer ), and blocky level designer but hey it was pretty long and i really liked it
Just finished it too. Stealth could have been done better, sometimes enemies see you instantly other times you can stand right infront of them and keep whistling and they look directly at you and are still in search mode. So I just gave up and went guns blazing the whole way. Still fun. The story reminds me of Deadly Premonition a little bit, except instead of a Twin Peaks rip off its a good B-movie. Speaking of....[sp]is the game supposed to crash at the end of the credits?...lol[/sp]
I swear, the SMG is only useful for shooting the helmets off of corpses for free armor gains. Oh, and launching grenades.

Finished this a few days ago, had a while to think about it, great mod, has some properly good points to it. [sp]Drags on a bit though, I was desperate to see the surface by the end. That's some pretty good suspense, almost thought I never would after that military dude kept popping up.[/sp] If I had to say something that's could be better, it'd be the story. It loses focus like 5 minutes in, and the story has just about every cliche mcguffin they could have included: [sp]Dead wife, Swat operation gone bad, Terrorist attack / Evil PMC, Secret lab / prison in the middle of the desert, Supernatural ghost haunting, Zombies / contagious disease, Government conspiracies, psychological instability / Hypnosis. All in one game. A concise storyline just plain isn't going to happen.[/sp] Voice acting was surprisingly good. Had some hiccups though, and British accents in American settings was a bit weird. I wish they'd done more with the house, the intro to it made it look like a house in GTA, which would've been great if it was more open world [sp]Never opened all the doors, or explored past the forest, I pussed out way before then. What's in there?[/sp] This mod would have benefited hugely from having more of it's own custom content to replace brushwork and reused assets from other stuff, like that age-old MP5 model. Recognized the lab equipment from BabyFawnLegs here on Facepunch, but didn't see their name in the credits. Odd. Should get to them on that. [sp]The Dead wife and Guilt sightings where cool and startling to begin with, but then the start of chapter 2 happened and they started sprinkling them like salt on fries. Shame really.[/sp] Some of the ~super dramatic~ cutscenes came out just plain silly because of the various gimmicks of Source, like weird 3rd person animations and wacky facial expressions. Spoiled some of it. [sp]Especially Junior's death. Damn that came out just crazy[/sp] All in all, the prologue reminds me of a combination of Rainbow Six and Fahrenheit and the second half reminded me of Penumbra and Dead Island. Quite impressive for a free mod to be compared to stuff like this. Looking forward to chapter 2  Hello wall of text how are you doing today
The story is pretty good for a comedy. Too bad the gameplay elements barely innovated from stock SMOD features, either zombies or mapdesign in zombie areas needed to be badly reworked and the soldiers don't seem to be making use of the squad AI. A friend of mine found this noclipping around on the first few maps - NSFW most disturbing footage found in Underhell so far http://i.imgur.com/kAcO2Uw.jpg .
The game just picked the perfect opportunity to crash just now. I was in the dream sequence where you were chasing the green and red flashing doors that stretched away just before you reach them, and when I finally caught up with them they began to open and then it crashed. GG source engine.

How the heck do you get past the strangely un-mulched Russian butcher after he kills Hector? I got the keys, and the shotgun (can't kill him, he deflects shots with his big stabby knife), but the doors out are locked.

By the way, [sp]it's his brother, Igor[/sp]

I would play the house and uncover all it's secrets [sp]IF THERE WEREN'T SO MANY GODDAMN JUMP SCARES[/sp]
I have to say that Underhell is the first game to make me ecstatic to get back to shooting military dudes instead of zombies.
I have to say that Underhell is the first game to make me ecstatic to get back to shooting military dudes instead of zombies.
i was SO GLAD i finally went out of the zombies and finally could kill military people in peace with out the fear of getting my ass fucked very hard
Obviously you haven't played Strider Mountain AKA Weird Doors and Gamebanana Skins for 70 hours.
How long was strider mountain anyway? I gave up like, 15 hours in.
Does anyone know where to find the pliers in the house? I've found the fence that needs cutting, I've looked everywhere in the house and so far I've found absolutely nothing.
After building the [sp]Cypher[/sp] the game keeps crashing no matter what. I've never had this problem. I just want to beat this damn game..
After building the [sp]Cypher[/sp] the game keeps crashing no matter what. I've never had this problem. Also, what version of the game do you have?
I think I still have the original version. Wasn't there a patch that was released not too long ago?
It was a ghost patch on the download itself. But the patch does not include a crash fix, so the save will still be useful. Any error messages on the the crash?
Not at all. I downloaded the game maybe 4 days after the release. But every time I leave the workshop it will crash. I tried a previous autosave where I went to collect the Cypher's head and even then it would crash.
