So is the prologue worth playing through? I've been seeing a lot of mixed thoughts about it on here as opposed to chapter 1.

It helps to understand why Jake is at 'Underhell' to begin with, but it's primarily straightforward shooting action (aside from certain sections). I recommend it, if only to see how far the devs have come along since the Prologue.
Alright, I've played Chapter One for a few hours now, [sp]restarted the power and then rescued the two mandatory survivors in the Medical Bay.[/sp] The zombies are getting repetitive, but I get the feeling that's gonna change real soon.
Once you progress a bit more you will miss the zombies :)

Not really, I was happy to finally fight humans, the game feels much more dynamic

Thats what i meant when i finally started killing humans i was glad becouse i wouldnt had to confrot a holy jeez huge zombie horde with tense as fuck music
Would someone please explain to me why they modeled detailed genitals on the guy you see killed over in the shower way before shit even hits the fan?
I never understood why they would make a detailed dick for a corpse you only see the back of, and the side of.

For Gmodders.

Well that's good. I was getting tired of seeing Commander Shepard's torso in my porn.
It's probably from another game or mod.
Finally playing it, reminds me of back when I used to play SMOD Tactical and the first FEAR, I keep wishing there was leaning.
Something that really annoys me about the prologue though, is that there are tons of places where the enemy are just standing in a hallway with their backs turned so you can sneak up and bop them on the back of the head with the baton. Is Chapter 1 like this or do they actually patrol and act like humans?

From what I know, they patrol in the Chapter 1 levels (when you finally encounter them), but stealth is really difficult. The Prologue was designed on SMOD when the devs were still new to modding, and they only enhanced it for proper working with the new inventory and weapon systems, it feels like, so that's probably why the Prologue is a lot lower quality in a sense.
Personally, when I played the Prologue I could never hide; the enemies seemed to know where I was at all times.
I love kicking open doors.
And for some reason whenever someone addresses your character I keep thinking I'm playing as Jake from state farm.
EDIT: Is it just me, or does anyone else have trouble distinguishing squadmates from enemies? I've shot so many squadmates because they ran up to me during a firefight with enemies and I thought they were gonna blast me with a shotty, or off in the distance if they shoot someone near me it looks like they are shooting me.

Yes. I assume that's why I ended up in Underhell because I can't be bothered to do the prologue.

That will probably change when you get past the Prologue. They make the allied characters in Chapter 1 really easy to recognize. (HINT: [sp]They're not the ones wearing gas masks/ Left 4 Dead textures.[/sp]
Went through that long ass cutscene with the [sp]"lawyer" interrogation and the helicopter just for it to crash at the end[/sp]
It said in the desert part chapter 1, should I just start a new game on chapter 1 then? Because every time I load the old save it crashes.

You'll have to go through a brief bit in the house again if you start at Chapter 1, and probably be forced into the damn tutorial again, that glitch got me too. Why in the world did the devs have to make the tutorial forced?
Well you can exit by going to the exit door and (i forget which) either pressing the use key twice or holding it on the door. But that crashed my game too. :(
Been seeing all the positive comments in this thread, this game seems like my kind of thing. I'm gonna try it out
FUCK just went through the entire tutorial AGAIN for it to just crash. What the hell...
You people realize that you can turn around and exit the tutorial, right?
Yes, that crashes too
The thing that bugs me about the tutorial is right at the beginning it says "Examine the board to start the tutorial" but you're still forced to enter it, twice even.
Ok, I've literally searched the house up and down for the kitchen door keys yet I haven't found jack shit, checked out front too. What the hell?
Also it keeps saying "saved" but it isn't actually saving.

I had no idea you needed to do that.
I guess I'll get on that

You can't load it from the load menu, it's automatically loaded when you select "The House"

The actual NPC is a remodel of the Antlion Guard, so you can use that as a hint to what you're supposed to do. If not, spoiler below on the exact solution:
[sp]make him ram into the yellow and black striped pillars above the grinder[/sp]
lol run
So I have no real clue on what to do [sp] Got seperated from my team and lost my weapons. Found a flashlight and the supposed exit of that area but the door isn't powered. Found the power room keys, turned on the generator but turns out the cables don't connect with the door so what now ? I scouted the area but couldn't find anything relevant[/sp]
