EDIT: Nevermind, realized the level in the videos were just mirrored
I just shut down the first power room in the south wing and now I'm stuck on what to do... there are switches around but they don't do anything, can't push them

edit: nevermind!
Ok did all 4 doors in the first dream, but I still can't find the kitchen keys. Do I have to do all of them or something?
I like good atmospheric sections but right now I really just want to shoot shit, not wake up, walk around the house for 5-10 realtime minutes just waiting for night to fall.
You would think the damn game would tell you that you needed to do something like this to progress.
Also what kind of jackass puts in a back door that you lock with keys from the inside?
EDIT: nvm just found the basement key.
This mod is really good at making me feel like an idiot.

Pretty sure the dreams don't trigger anything in the house besides letting you go to the chapter 1 house once you finish the current one
Really? The basement key didn't spawn until I did all of the first dream.
Unless this is the transition into the chapter 1 house, since this is coming from the prologue.

I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've been in the prologue house so I don't remember much. I don't think every dream has to be completed though before the house can be completed because I remember getting into the shed in the back of the house way before the dreams were done
Play the piano, get the bit of metal, go up to the music box , open the music box's bottom compartment, then put metal bit in. Play the music box.
I just used Chapter Selection to skip to Chapter 1 after my game crashed at the very end of the prologue and tried resetting my save to scratch.
Just realized "I hurt my leg in the fall" means i can't stomp enemies anymore. I hate forced stealth like this
Just realized "I hurt my leg in the fall" means i can't stomp enemies anymore. I hate forced stealth like this
It's not forced, you can easily run circles around the enemies. There's even a wrench in the generator room you can use to brain the TWO zombies in the area.
I was kind of expecting the broken leg thing to be more disabling like not being able to jump or something. I guess that'd be a little frustrating though
lol if you lure enemies to you and jump in a locker, you can smash zombie heads in right through the slits from the safety of the locker.
Just ghosted through the area leading up to the Marcos fight, figured out a cool bit about how the zombies work.
[sp]Water and UV radiation slows the movement of the virus, which is why there are few zombies in the wet parts of the area and how Igor and Angelo were calmed by sunlight.[/sp]
Also, for those of you who had reached the end and found a few empty cells in the last hallway, it's because those three scientists that Marcos was planning on killing if you got caught are in openable test chambers normally. In addition, the actual Marcus fight is significantly easier. Instead of a SPAS-12, he has a Benelli, and instead of a few ACE cyborgs, it's just three generic grunts.
Finished the game. Jesus christ that was one of the longest ending sequences in any game ever.
[sp]That said I didn't really understand a lot about the whole thing... anyone got an explanation lying around?[/sp]

OH GOD THE CREDITS SONG MAKE IT STOP MY EARS ARE BLEEDING
Fucking game triggers that turn off your attack got stuck so I just walked up to a zombie and die.
I wanted to bash his face in, not stand there offering him a broken pipe.

That's why the boot is your best friend. It NEVER falls victim to script malfunctions.
I like trying to avoid the zombies, hiding from them makes the mod pretty tense even if they are fooled ridiculously easily by large metal doors.
It makes me think of the parts where you had to avoid supernatural enemies in Thief: The Dark Project
Was at the dream sequence where you start by looking at the mirror. Turned around to leave and accidentally closed the door on myself and was trapped against the corner lol. The autosave feature is nice because it prevents me just spamming quicksave like I usually would in a horror game but for situations like that where I then have to sit through a long ass cut scene all over again it's a bit of a bitch. The cut scenes wouldn't even be that bad if it wasn't for the mostly terrible voice acting. But other than that I'm having a lot of fun with this. The dream sequences are awesome and the music is great.
At first I dreaded the autosave system because of the crashes, but I find it can add a bit of tension here and there.
Just when I was thinking this isn't really scary anymore [sp] the second butcher guy starts stabbing the ceiling tiles[/sp]
That was pretty surprising.
EDIT:
I find it very odd how much of a benefit Jake from state farm gets from stacking 30 helmets on his head.
Either that or he's eating them and using his stomach to convert them into wearable kevlar vests.

Jake's probably just tying them to his kneecaps and chest, like wearing armor make out of pots and pans.
Or uhh you know
It's a game

[sp]The entire escape sequence past Jake getting shot in the head was just an extended delusion while he was under hypnosis. The facility hasn't actually blown up (So Ben and Terry are presumed to have actually succeeded in stopping the reactor and are alive and well.), and the authorities are interrogating Jake to try and find a way in. Michael on the other hand seems to be really interested in Tom H's journal and constantly presses Jake into remembering what he read it to the point of nearly killing him.
Jake's seemingly latent supernatural powers kick in again, Bryan and Michael escape, the infection is revealed to have reached the city and Ito and his men manage to catch up with Jake just before he escapes.
It's also implied Michael is or is affiliated with Eastern Janus and that Western Janus is Jake's dad, and that Jake is also a clone of himself.[/sp]
It's ALOT of stuff to follow.

Pretty sure you can skip cutscenes with a button. It's a bit buggy but it skips them
[sp]So it seems to me like project Posterus was the whole 'cloning' thing that Jake is a part of, while project Terminus was the zombie virus that Igor and Angelo were the few successful examples of.[/sp]

I was out in the cafeteria again when I reloaded and had to walk all the way back to the cell. The mirror part I skipped yeah but I still had to do the whole walk over again which was a little annoying.
Fuck me, I was doing fine until that part after you [sp]crawl through the ceiling to get away from Igor, aka the second butcher.[/sp] Like, the part where you have to [sp]go back into the high-security block.[/sp] The issue is knowing that I [sp]can't take that motherfucker down[/sp] and being able to [sp]hear him before even leaving the security checkpoint[/sp] doesn't help.
[editline]15th September 2013[/editline]
nvm easy as shit and no longer tense when you realize there [sp]aren't any normal prisoner zombies in there area plus the fact that it's really wide open and you can bob+weave and never get hit ever[/sp]
Fucking hell I was being chased [sp]after you lose your shit from the fall and "hurt your leg", fuck you devs for that[/sp] and as I was running the zombie just flew right in front of me as if he had some sort of teleportation abilities.
Scared me shitless, I've seen them do it before while I was hiding and assumed it was some sort of glitch, and I hope this doesn't happen again.

Its not a glitch, the "zombies" have enhanced jumping capabilities and can follow you damn near anywhere because of it.
Also, does Terry's voice actor remind anyone else of the guy that voiced Zaeed from Mass Effect?
I didn't realize they were jumping, as he just did it in the narrow hallway and went right through me oddly enough.
I was pretty surprised when I found out the zombies [sp]could climb ladders[/sp] which is awesome
If theres one major complaint I have about this though, its that [sp]once your saferoom comes under attack they decide to kill alll of those survivors you searched for in the last hour or so of gameplay and have rescueing them basiclly mean nothing besides getting a magnum from Terry.[/sp]
