SystemRequirementsLab is highly inaccurate. If you want to use a site to tell you, then use YouGamers.
Either way, you're better off looking at the Minimum Requirements and seeing if your hardware meets or exceeds them instead of relying on an inaccurate site.
That's kind of my thing. I suck with specs so it's kind of hard for me to tell sometimes whether or not my rig will take it. Otherwise I would have checked the requirements from Steam and not bothered fellow Facepunch users.
How necessary is a dual core for NV?
Not at all. I run it on a P4, so everyone and their mother can run it.
I have a 9600 with a single core and 1gb of ram
I can max out new vegas and have a fps of like 35+

Nice job stealing my joke. Congrats.

Oh hurr hurr. You're only about the tenth person in this thread to make that joke.
And just for the record, I'd like to find a PS3 version of the game that does not run on PS3s.
systemrequirementslab.com told me I can run Crysis on full settings
pfffffffff.
So can someone tell me how well I could run it with these specs?
Intel Core 2 CPU(dual core)
NVIDIA GeoForce 7300 LE
2gb of RAM
What game engine does this run on?
Not at all. I run it on a P4, so everyone and their mother can run it.
I've not even tried to install New Vegas because I don't have a dual core yet. I'm getting a high end gaming PC soon, and since people with $4,000 computers were lagging like crazy everytime they encountered an NPC, I assumed installing it on my PC would be the stupidest thing I've ever done.
I'm not good when it comes to telling whether my specs(processors and graphics cards mainly) are better and worse then what someone says. I have an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+, is that really bad? Is it worse than a P4? I don't care if you rate me boxes I just want an answer.
What game engine does this run on?
The Gamebryo engine, same as Fallout 3.
or as I like to call it.... piece of shit...bryo
I'm not that creative.

Download this, and it will run exactly the same as FO3. I can't believe how many times I've had to post it before you people get it into your skulls that IT WORKS. I ran Fallout 3 on my single core Athlon 64 and radeon X1300, and if I still had them I'd be running NV on them as well.
The DLL file REALLY improves performance. I get absolutely no lag at all ingame with my GTX 460 after I added that in comparison to Oblivion where I get an average of 30fps.
I'm actually going to see if this file will help it seeing as they are both Gamebryo games.

I don't know for sure if it's a computer problem, game problem, or both.
BTW, I use dual monitors

This is most likely the problem. Quite a lot of games get different errors if you use two monitors.
If your PC can run Quake 2, it can run New Vegas.
Will my computer run New vegas?
Specs:
ATI Radeon hd 3200 grahpics card
AMD phenom(tm) 9500 quad-core processor 2.20 Ghz
Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

That is just pure bullshit.
