[T][/T]
-everyone denouncing everyone- And so on.
This about happened in my game! Me (Russia), Rome, India, Mongolia were on in the modern era. We all started denouncing each other and eventually several wars broke out. I luckily stayed out of the petty conflicts. Does this happen a lot in late game where everyone starts hating each other?
So I started a game as attila and the only nation near me was ethiopia. I of course immediately declared war on them for the sole reason of being ethiopia. I then sent 3 horse archers, 1 warrior, 1 battering ram, and 3 triremes to fuck up its shit, but they tore the entire thing apart since you have to go through a narrow passage to get in their capital. The entire time this is happening, they are constantly asking for peace treaties. One of the times they even offered gold to end the war. I obviously declined though, because I have honor (which is another way of saying I'm a stubborn asshole). They've destroyed my entire military and have a ton of spearmen, warriors, and compound archers on the way. How fucked am I? [editline]30th June 2012[/editline] Also everyone is an era ahead of me because I wanted to act like atilla would and said fuck science
What's the best civilization for loads of cities? I want to try that.
Hard to say. The French are relatively good, because they get extra culture in each city, which means that expanding quickly early on doesn't set you behind policy-wise. Carthage might work if you're near a coast. All their cities get free harbours, so you instantly get trade routes and loads a dosh if you do that. But honestly, any civ that isn't focused on staying small (like India and Ethiopia) works for a huge amount of cities if you take liberty + order in the late game.
Just got Gods and Kings. Found out from the SomethingAwful let's play thread that you can get it on Greenman Gaming on sale here: http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/strategy/sid-meiers-civilization-v-gods-kings/, and can use the promo code GESTU-REOFT-HANKS to get it a little cheaper as well. I was able to trade Men of War: Red Tide I got for free a while ago and only had to pay around $15.
How do you denounce people? Do you just insult their hairdo or something
Dat feel when you take Sweden and accidentally warmonger.
Wow, just went from warlord (easy) to prince (normal) difficulty, and got my fucking ass kicked. The difficulty gap is bigger than the gap between an anorexic's thighs. I'm staying on warlord difficulty from now on, ok.

I was able to buy a copy for my friend for only $10 so you saved me quite a bit of money.
Napoleon. If you spawn next to him, you're screwed, if everyone else spawns next to him, you're in luck
Last time I spawned near the French I smashed the bejeesus out of them, absolutely pummeled them with horsemen.
So I just got back with my Dutch Playthrough and then suddenly. The motherfucking Semite-Germans from the south declare war on me. Communistic bastards dare go against the only nation that has chosen Freedom in the game OH FUCK. The Semite-Germans are coming in hard. But I have put into place some plans for just the occasion. I have sent a naval taskforce with a nuclear-armed bomber towards their capital during peace-time and I have another nuke at my own homeland to defend against a mass attack by the Semite-Germans. The Freedom-loving, peaceful Dutchmen have dropped the first two nukes in history in self-defense. I dropped the first one on Berlin, the only SS manufacturing city in their nation and the capital so it's common sense that I bomb the shit out of it. The other on the massive concentration of troops that were aimed to take out my farthest city.
Man, I almost bit the bullet early on my new playthrough. Started out as the Iroquois, expanded quickly and ended up alienating the surrounding nations. Suddenly Greece, Sweden and the Songhai launched a joint invasion of my territories. Soon I'm left with just my capital. 100 turns later and I've repelled Sweden and the Songhai from my occupied territories while Alexander still holds Grand River. Interestingly, nobody's holding any grudges about it. Even the Songhai, who I made peace with to keep them off my back while I went fought with the Swedes and then turned around and declared war on after I took back my city. Hopefully Alexander will eventually just sell me the city, I'd hate to have to fight over it. I'm already lagging behind in the science department because of the conflict.
Communist Greece declared war on me along with half of my allied cultural city-states so now I am not producing as much culture as I should in order to get a new social policy. From the way things look I may not be able to get a utopia. Now with Germany's SS manufacturing severely crippled, I'll send the first Dutchman to space and outpace him with the SS, so far Germany made all boosters and a cockpit so I won't have much time.. even with a nuked Berlin I think they're still trying to make a ship

They'll try and be friendly with you, then hit you when you're least expecting it. If a nation ever declares war on you, you can never trust it ever again.

Blue Tiberium silly!
It is far more valuable than the green one!
Berlin, the only SS manufacturing city in their nation.
Took me a moment to realize SS meant Spaceship and not Schutzstaffel.
Coastal cities are so easy to get rid of now. Frigates and Caravels simply rape the cities.
Most relevant things of my first Gods and Kings game playing as the Celts: - My only ally is Rome. - Sidon keeps gifting me Swede exclusive infantry. - Most of my navy is composed of upgraded Galley's captured by privateers, ergo my navy is made up of former pirates.
FUCK the Germans are making the cockpit now. That leaves only one component left after the cockpit. Time to raze Cologne
The Civilopedia says that when I build spaceship parts and send them to my capital I'll get a message asking me to add them to my spaceship, but I'm not getting any message like this. Do I have to build all the parts first or something?

It's grayed out any time you're not in the capital.
There should be on option to assemble it on the little bar that usually displays the attack, upgrade, or move options. It's grayed out any time you're not in the capital.
Nope, there's nothing there. Uh-oh.

I wish Melee Naval units can take out coastal barbarian camps.
Angers me so much because my puppet states would build endless supplies of rocket boosters instead of making me rich.
If the Science victory option is disabled or you've already won another victory you can't add the parts, but you can still build the parts.
I'm fairly sure I didn't disable any victory options and no one's won yet.
