Do you guys think Gods and Kings expansion is worth it? The only thing that's preventing me from getting it is that 30 dollar price tag.
It completely reinvents civ 5 for me. Adds a whole lot new fun features, hours upon hours of new gameplay. If you can afford it, I'd say get it.
This hour marks the time at which I began constructing nuclear arms, and Gandhi is nearly half-way done with his space program. The Queen is at my throat every now and again, but I fear she'll attack once more. My first ICBM was completed earlier, and the urge to throw it away is overwhelming.
Fuck yeah, just bought Gods and Kings! Is there a civ that has easy access to religion so i can easily test it out?
Tradition policy tree pretty much guarantees that you found your own religion because of the free great person
Fuck yeah, just bought Gods and Kings! Byzantium gets 1 extra belief when founding a religion.
omg why are my citizens always unhappy?!?! [editline]5th July 2012[/editline] i build all the buildings that give happiness, and choose all the policies that does as well. what am i doing wrong?

If you have multiple cities at the start you just have to deal with unhappiness.

Ask the other world leaders for defence pacts! Two, Ethiopia and Gandhi, this isn't going to go well for me, Ethiopia is weak as shit and Gandhi is already fighting his own war on the other side of the world.
omg why are my citizens always unhappy?!?! [editline]5th July 2012[/editline] i build all the buildings that give happiness, and choose all the policies that does as well. what am i doing wrong?
Happiness is inversely proportional to the number of cities you have, and their size. I believe each city is -3 happiness and each citizen is -1 happiness. Though there are various ways of getting more happiness such as buildings, luxuries, and social policies, the primary way to stay happy is to keep your cities small. Avoid growth in cities that don't need it. With large empires, it is important to specialize, as opposed to generalize.
So, favorite Civ to play as brosephs? Not sure why, but I really like playing as Augustus Caesar.
constantly selling away luxury resources and having a high population/cities does that
only trade away your duplicate luxury resources.
I am doing pretty good on my current game. I have to keep switching to my windows duel-boot, but it's worth the time. I'm playing as the Maya, and it's actually a blast. I did no fighting up until the Renissance, when tensions between me, the Netherlands, and Sweden built up to a crazy series of wars. My military was horrible, but my economy, culture, and religion was fantastic. I was building wonders left and right, and that seemed to piss off everyone. It didn't help that I constantly sent missionaries everywhere I could. Sweden attacked me unprovoked at first, and after buying a ton of pikemen and such, I deterred them long enough to make a peace treaty. Sweden swung around to become my friend, and wanted help attacking Netherlands. We took one of their cities, and the war just stopped. I'm in need of iron, as I can't find any in real-world China, where I live. I'm hoping for culture victory as I only have 4 large cities and have completed 3 policy trees. I'm currently best buddies with Korea, Byzantine, and China. The Iroquois are to the southwest of my cities and sort of hate me because I near-destroyed their religion in place of mine, but are too weak to do anything. My main, capital city has as much defense as possible at the moment, 7+ wonders, and is constantly growing.
Everyone that is left in my game has finally finished researching the Manhattan Project except Russia. They are expanding into Polynesia, which is close to Australia which I am colonizing at the moment. I see a war in our future, but a laughably one-sided one, since they're still in the industrial era.
Do you guys get the Tradition AND Liberty social policies?
Just took out China as the Aztecs with my superior technology. They stood no chance once my bombers came out.
Do you guys get the Tradition AND Liberty social policies?
Sometimes. It depends on my goals and situation. Can't really say if it can be a good strategy or not as I am somewhat new to the game.
Just took out China as the Aztecs with my superior technology. They stood no chance once my bombers came out.
When I first played this game, it was easiest difficulty. The general theme was "Japan Conquers the World." With Bushido and stupid enemies, it was a breeze to take over the continent. After I let my civilization thrive, I set out on a conquest on whatever was beyond. I had bombers and tanks, and I fought Queen Elizabeth's knights and pikemen.

Is there a way to tell the AI to piss the fuck off with their great prophets? As in, when I convert their cities they tell me to fuck off and die with my religion but why can't I demand from them to keep their missionaries and prophets away. Goddamn Boudicca keeps trying to screw up my religion with her great prophets and I see no other option then to declare war and capture the prophet before he reaches the city every time. I am really missing the option where I demand her to fuck off or I launch nukes.

is there even any point to having many citizens?
is there even any point to having many citizens?
More citizens mean more tiles that can be worked, more science that can be generated, and more specialist roles that can be filled.
More citizens mean more tiles that can be worked, more science that can be generated, and more specialist roles that can be filled.
And slightly more town defense.
And slightly more town defense.
And you get a sign on that town that says "nuke me".
