I just remembered I have to put ships near my capitol since it is on the southwestern coast of Africa, which is close to Darius and Gandhi who are in South America fighting each other.
Anyone here adept at modding Civ5? PM me, I need a little help with my project, basically hunting down this giant bug I have.
What sort of game time do you have? I've got about 128 hours and still consider myself a newbie.
Says 150 hours on Steam, though I think that is overestimating.
Would the galactic civ series belong in this thread or are those camps totally unrelated?
Galactic Civilizations has nothing to do with Civilization. The former was by Stardock, the latter by Firaxis.
I'm writing out some blueprints for a banking mod. The basic premise is to incorporate various banking practices such as loaning and borrowing gold at interest. I'm brainstorming some ideas down the road, such as incorporating debt funded wars, collateral, and credit ratings. If something similar exists, or if this sounds like a bad idea let me know. A few scenarios that I would like to be created by it is the idea of large offensive wars funded by debt. Now going into debt is that big of a deal so long as you can pay the interest. But the larger your debt, the more you'll be paying for interest. If you miss a payment, your credit rating is lowered and your interest rate rises. If you default, it is going to be a long while before anyone is going to loan you anything, and the creditors will likely give an incentive for other nations to destroy your economy. Just some ideas.

I just helped the Iroquois defend themselves from the Celts and Persia. The Celts were still in the industrial era and I was almost in the atomic era. Then the Persian navy was like 10 frigates but I took them out with one of my frigates, two destroyers, one bomber and one submarine. Now I'm going to have to do the same to the French navy soon but it will be even more one sided because I'll have battleships and possibly a carrier.
I don't like/understand how/why we can't use Earth as a map in multiplayer games. You can't even use the 'Terra' option in MP. Why the hell not? What possible reason is there for not letting us play on Earth in MP That being said I need more friends that own Gods and Kings to play with. I'd actually like to start up a larger game today if possible. Between 4-8 players. Add me on steam if any of you are interested.
ffs why do I always get a shitty starting area when I play as Rome

I was wondering If anyone here knew how to enable Harold Saxon from the 1066 scenario as a normal playable civ?
Just fucked up Syria royally with a Nuke; the bastards attacked me in the Medieval Era and haven't let up since. Too bad for Rio and Colombo city states; they sides with Syria and I effectively raped them and made them part of my empire. It's funny how the AI suggests a peace treaty by pretty much asking for everything you have including cities; once I dropped a nuke on their capital city they requested to end the war and offered me just about every single resource; I declined. Syria is about to get fucked by Washington.

I once played a game as Russia vs Arabia and nuked the holy city of Mecca so much it disappeared.
I once played a game as Russia vs Arabia and nuked the holy city of Mecca so much it disappeared.
What game were you playing? In Civ 5 any capital city cannot be destroyed in any way, only puppeted or annexed. I once nuked the mongol capital 5 times and it just stayed at growth 1.
Civ 5. It was destroyed. Don't know what to tell you.
If Domination (and Diplomacy?) winning conditions are unchecked, you can destroy the capital, I think.
In one city challenge, if you capture any city, it's auto destroyed, and this applies to Capitals, Suleiman wasn't very happy about that.
Well I completely wiped out Syria, it pissed off the rest of the nations though. It's great, me and Syria shared South America so now I completely am secluded from the rest of those warmongering bastards. I've got a fleet of 30 assorted ships, land based defenses, and a nuclear arsenal that is ready to be used at a moment's notice.
Accept or reject?
Accept or reject?
What is trade agreement, never seen that before.
Accept or reject?
Get the workshop version of InfoAddict, it's compatible with gods and kings.
Eugh.. Been playing Civ IV with my brother.. just remembered how much I fucking hate the combat system
I think I broke the game. I'm playing on Deity difficulty with Gandhi and Genghis Khan. No large scale wars, not a single nuke dropped, I have yet to be invaded at all, and I'm friends with India... It's the year 2157, on a small archepelago, all land has been claimed and everyone has maxed out the tech tree. Why no nuclear holocaust?

I've been signing open borders treaties along with trading on and off. Finally I decided I would send a scout into Khan country to scout his military forces. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/uIG1s.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/p51lj.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/xSMVY.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/xD1rf.jpg[/img_thumb] I was pleased to discover his some 1,000,000 strong army consisted almost exclusively of vacant aircraft carriers. As population keeps increasing, it's getting harder and harder keeping people happy and fed. I've maxed out 5 social polices so far (tradition, liberty, honor, piety, commerce), and as you can see, I'm having a bit of trouble with my aluminum stocks (quite important this far in game) because the only available aluminum is through trade with a city state. I'm also having income troubles. My income will be steady for awhile and then take a massive hit. I have yet to discover why.
Does no one want to play Gods and Kings MP? I only have two friends that own it. One is never online when I am and the other hates Civ 5 MP. Surely someone here would like to play it with me.
I do, add me on Steam! I've been kinda busy lately but within the next few days I should have plenty of time.
