so i finally got the hang of specializing cities, my capital has production out the arse and my second city is raking in harry einsfield levels of dosh except it suddenly occurred to me that i dont actually know how i plan to win at this point im thinking i should just go for a science victory but im not really sure how also i beat the mongolians back to the tip of the continent and im bros with at least one other major nation :v:
Naval combat is amazing with Gods and Kings only because of melee naval units. You can fuck up coastal cities so easily. And the only counter-defense would be having your own naval units.
Aw man, no money for civilization 5 :[ Possibly anyone help me? :[
I like how my utopia project is ready to be built, yet my cultural advisor suggests I build the Manhattan project instead.
I like how my utopia project is ready to be built, yet my cultural advisor suggests I build the Manhattan project instead.
Is your cultural advisor named Ghandi by chance?
I bought Civ V on the recent steam sale, and it is my first civilization game. I love it so far, but I have one question. I played a game for quite a while, and when I hit 500 turns it told me that I lost because I was 10 points behind Caesar. If I press the "Just a few turns more" button, will the game ever end?

Also bought Civ V in the steam sales, gonna install it eventually.
Welp, I survived the Mongol counter-attack (and pillaged some of their farm tiles while I was at it, take that). But now I have more serious issues. The Mongolians are now in the Industrial era and are positioning riflemen all across my borders for another attack, while I only have a frigate and a few Gatling gunners. To make matters worse, one of my core cities is starving and the only tiles around are tundra and ocean, of which neither help my situation. If that's not bad enough, now Ethiopia seems to be on the path to a cultural victory and I have literally no power to stop him. Now how screwed am I?
Welp, completely wiped the Mongolian Empire off the continent and liberated both the Austrians and the Spanish. Damn, I love this game.

Some news post I found somewhere. http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/uxpil/ive_been_playing_the_same_game_of_civilization_ii/ I bet civ V has the same concept.
Civ V has a limit to how long it goes on.
You can set a limit to the number of turns but otherwise it's endless as far as I know.
Wasnt the thing with the guy who played for 10 years, that he never lost or won?
I'll have to wait for Gods and Kings to go cheaper :( Will have to play for Civ V base game for now :P
Civ V has a limit to how long it goes on.
That sucks. A lot. I wanted to make an endless game :( Can you have endless games in Civ iv?
yes. just turn off max turns
what's the general etiquette with great scientists? i have science out the ass and i want more science but i have nine academies already and im not sure if i should just spend him on a free tech that would take me ~10 turns at most in a game where nothing is happening and im barely at any risk of enemy attack
That sucks. A lot. I wanted to make an endless game :( Can you have endless games in Civ iv?
He's wrong, you can disable the turn limit in Civ V.
Can your score go down during a game?
So, me and PieClock are doing an online game. I found a convenient spot for London, looked like the Thames going out to the sea, until I made a horrifying discovery behind the clouds.
Can your score go down during a game?
Yes. During one of my earlier games me and Ghandi ganged up on Russia, who was one of the top scoring players. After taking and raising most of their cities we booted them down to a few cities that had scattered around on islands, leaving them with around 200 points for most of the game.
I dislike how if you raze a city and you left an aircraft in it, the aircraft gets destroyed. It would make more sense to have it relocate. Also, a mod I recommend is the R.E.D. modpack. It adds new skins to all the units so that they fit in culturally. No gameplay changes. Read about it here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=383375

Is the R.E.D pack any good?
Is the R.E.D pack any good?
Yes. I like diversity.
Okay, so me and PieClock were linking roads. His city to mine whilst I was linking mine to my capital: [THUMB]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/577835582225227530/E3F0332A1C94E79ECAD7A4F01F473EAF538329F7/[/THUMB] I have no idea where this is going. [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] Mother of god what is going wrong [THUMB]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/577835582225397557/0548808AD6BA2425E26F15CCEA7FFEB8713CED1A/[/THUMB]
This is why I never have my units auto build roads.
This is why I never have my units auto build roads.
For me, it varies game to game. Sometimes, the workers do a great job automating my empire and I just let them be. Other times, I clearly have the need for some roads between my main cities and my capital or to improve a valuable resource and I check for any nearby workers aaaannnd.... they're halfway across the empire building a farm.
