[QUOTE=KommradKommisar;36954959]What does the world age option mean?[/QUOTE]
The younger the more hills and mountains, the older the less. So exactly what Mingebox said, but I am just confirming.
Longest golden age I've ever had:

Turn 870 1780 AD, South America is governed by me as Germany, and after capturing Mexico from the Greeks the German war train rolls Northward, England and Greece be damned.
Also love it while dynamite is almost done the Greeks and English have just started to begin their musketeers.
America (Read Greece and England) shall soon fall.
Also wiped out Spain at around 2000 BC and an unknown Civ fell shortly thereafter so only 10 Civs remain. Only met 3 so far (Japanese, Greek, English)
Not quite ready for Immortal difficulty. Spent the whole game failing to take a single city of Carthage's, and the AI's ended up two ages ahead of me. I am quite good being defensive or peaceful, not so good at being aggressive.
Oh god why is the multiplayer in this so broken
2 Steam friends and I are trying to play MP, one of us hosts a lobby and the other two join
everyones lobbies say the other players disconnected and that they are now the hosts
decide to join an existing game
in lobby
things going fine
suddenly people disconnect one by one and we're left as the hosts
curse you sid meier, why won't you let me play mp
It takes brains to get it to work. Rule 1, give up on all public games, go on to the steam community and join the NQ group for Civ 5. Second get Gods and Kings, vanilla multiplayer still has horrible glitches from the last patch and Fireaxis fixing it is a dream.

G&K is $50 in Aus, and all I want to play the MP with is a few Steam friends. Guess I'm stuck.
I bought the entire collection (Civ III, Civ IV + all dlc/expansions, Civ V + dlc) on the 21st. Missed G&K by one fucking day.

Try Tunngle. Helped me get into a game with one of my friends.
My friends and I tried playing over virtual lan and private matches, but neither worked. The lan stayed invisible, and the private matches dropped all players whenever we started it.
When we tried hosting a public server, and just kicked any player who joined whilst waiting for our friend to join, it worked perfectly. I honestly don't understand why. :v:
Also, I heard that all players need to have the DLC if one person is using a DLC civ / map, which is kind of retarded, imo. I understand if it's G&K, but for the races, surely someone who owns it should be able to play the DLC race, even if his friends haven't got it. I've not been able to confirm it, though, as I have all the DLC, as does my friend.
I've never had a problem with Civ 5's multiplayer even in Vanilla.
All I ever do is host a private internet game and invite my friends. I've had up to 7 other people including me playing at once before.

Yes, it's true. Even if you enable that DLC in your game if everyone doesn't have it you can't use it.
G&K solves this for now as it has every other DLC civilization besides the Koreans.
Greece backstabbed me once before so you know what fuck you I hope your archers can defend against this motherfucker.

Gods and Kings: worth it?
Espionage and religion itself was totally worth the $10 imo
[QUOTE=SystemGS;36976493]Gods and Kings: worth it?[/QUOTE]
It is
A good strategy with production cities is to specialize them in growth and production, and really to have to different modes. You can't have a high production and a high growth, so manage your citizens to what you want to do at the moment. When you switch into production mode, first ensure that you have a good amount of excess food, and then switch everything to production. Your city will likely be starving, and you may want to have some food tiles worked depending on how much of your excess is being eaten. Timing is important as you will want whatever your are building when you are in production mode to be finished before you run out of excess food.
Basically, if you need to get something built fast and you have excess food, don't be afraid to starve your production city. With one city that I tried this out, when I am in growth mode the city has a production of 38, and in production mode it is around 80 with -3 food.
After a while most of my cities can produce stuff really quickly - eg a wonder in a turn.

Also, being the weakest militarily has an advantage - I can fucking destroy whatever comes my way apparently.

But the way of making peace is stealing everything the other player has got, then declaring war again.
Just came off playing a game where I'd been friendly with Sweden, and Mongolia wasn't being too friendly but didn't really have enough forces to launch an attack against me. So what I do is give Sweden 65 gold and open borders to go to war with Mongolia, and I wait for most of Sweden's units to start fighting Mongolia's cities, at which point I do a few trade offers to grab a few hundred gold off him.
I then declared war on Sweden, so at this point I had all their units damaged to some extent, and still under fire of Mongolia's cities. Mongolia didn't have any army so I declared war with him to get in his borders, and then I destroyed Sweden's crippled units leaving them with next to nothing. So I heal my guys up quick, and steamroll each of their cities.
Everyone hates me now for turning on a friendly, but it was worth it. :v:

I'm sorry but why in gods name do you have trading posts on hills instead of mines?
"automated" workers
more like idiotic workers, 1 gold is more important than 1 production apparently.

Not only did you create your city at the end of a giant sperm, now you've created a phallic irradiated crater :v:
I think he took the advice on protection a bit ... too far.
Hm, it seems Suleiman has given in and asked for pure peace.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
Same with Arabia. I guess my Ship of the Lines did the trick.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
And my army might is just above theirs now. I think I won.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
Using a mod I have decided that I am the most technologically advanced civ and will declare war on the babylon people. I have also decided that those cities are mine.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
Also I am going to declare war on all of the people (except ghandi, he's the only person who likes me currently.)
Odd, I didn't know civ's could be afraid of you. I don't even know why Pascal is afraid of me.
