me and some friends were playing a multiplayer game and we were trying to come up with funny names for cities and religions. one guy named one of his cities "The Dick" and another guy made his religion "aids"
you better believe the dick got aids
My entire army is pretty much just a shitload of artillery and great war infantry.
I shell the shit out of them for a bunch of turns and then steamroll them with my infantry.
Feeling like the fucking Death Korps of Krieg.

Mine is just a heap of bombers and artillery which bombard cities for years straight, before I capture the city with the dinkiest most humiliating unit I can find.
I still have an scout that got upgraded to archer in 1932 :V
New Expansion called One World http://cdr.xpaw.ru/app/8930/#section_depots
Cossacks upgraded into tanks is the best strategy. That bonus to injured units makes for one hell of a blitzkrieg.

Any details on this?

reddit believes it to be something to do with diplomacy, so that'd be cool, i'd love a better diplomacy game, it feels so much like AI

Kinda off-topic, but I love how you quote yourself in your own post. Makes it look pretty schizophrenic.
Anyhow, it does look like it'll be about globalisation. I hope for map trading, a better colony system (founding puppet cities on other continents?) more resources like coffee and tobacco, and nations like Kongo and Zulu.

founding puppet cities seems like a really good idea imo, they could have some type if way to revolt is what I want, I've always hated how in Civ 5, the deal with America and England could never happen.

Is there a current system regarding colonies? I remember in Civ IV if you founded too many cities on another landmass, especially the new world, you'd wind up paying ungodly amounts of upkeep and it'd get to the point where the game suggests you give them all independence as a puppet state.
I was always intrigued by the concept that cities could perhaps revolt, taking with them a few nearby cities and turning into their own independent nation.
That'd be a neat concept. It'd even give games in which you've essentially already 'won' an edge: attempting to maintain happiness and stability so your country doesn't fracture and split apart.
There's a mod for that. I don't like it though, it takes into account like the culture of the citizens which means you have to maintain good relationship with other nations to keep your cities, which is hard when your only victory condition is domination (which I do alot)
They better add fucking Canada! Although they probably won't since they made a bunch of Canadian cities into City States
What if one world was a code or something. Like I mean. What if they did a completely different thing for an expansion, like how civ 4 had an expansion that was basically just a remake of Colonization.
What if. Alpha centarui?
I would kill for an Alpha Centauri remake.
I hope that new expansion is based around corporations and future technology, I hate how the game ends at what is basically today, I mean there's those awesome death-mechs but that's about it for the futuristic stuff, everything from the stone age to the modern era was fleshed out enough in vanilla Civ V and G&K, we need more stuff based around the future, how about underwater cities or space colonies?
I disagree, but mainly just because I always start a new game sometime after reaching the industrial era.
I've been locked in war with Germany for the past 2000 years. Its a multiplayer game and finally people are understanding that I didn't start it and are attacking it as well. It's gonna get super awkward when the ones who went to war as well start fighting over territory we conquered.

okay even though i absolutely hate the idea of future technology (like mechs and stuff) underwater cities (or on water) sounds awesome, and introducing space and a solar system into this game would be pretty cool but if it were at all plausible I imagine it'd have to be very very broad in terms of what happens.
Aquatic colonies is something I missed from Alpha Centauri. I mean, obviously it's a little hard to just build a city in the middle of the ocean, but that was still one of my favorite parts of that game. Playing on an island map only changed the early game significantly, the late game was only hindered a bit.
Why is Ethiopia super expansive? They are expanding fucking everywhere and despite the fact that we are friends when i ask them to stop settling new cities near me they refuse. Like seriously, i could wipe them off the face of the planet but then i would have more cities which i don't want yet.
Wipe them out and burn the cities down? That's what I do most of the time, the computer likes to build cities in really asinine and inefficient spots.

Maybe i'll wipe out Egypt while i'm at it. Three times they have tried to invade me with Japan, each time i destroyed their entire army and sent them home.

You're pretty much describing an Alpha Centauri remake.
Playing as Korea, I let Siam go unchecked too long. I'm pretty sure they're going for military victory, they've wiped out Russia, Askia and Ethiopia and I've been at war with them now for a while. Thankfully I've managed to hold him off so far, although now he's throwing around rocket artillery and bombers, I don't even have machine gunners yet.

I don't think Canada would classify as a civilization on the scale that this game portrays them.
Practically the only "modern" civ is America, we're only about 200 years old but we're extremely influential and rich, we've influenced so much history during the time we've been around.
Canada is rich, and has a high standard of living, and has been around as an independent country for less time than the US has. Not to mention it's a lot smaller, a lot less populous, and a lot less influential than the US. Also seeing that's it's still a commonwealth of Great Britain, you can argue that in the context of the game, Canada is techincally a puppet state of the british empire.
Of course I'm not implying that Canada is a puppet state IRL, or that they're a bad country. I'm simply saying that they're not quite a civilization on the scale that the rest in the game are.
Wow that's just a hugely inaccurate post. Germany is only a 150 year old nation and it hadn't been a unified country since like 890.
What.
Canada is the second largest nation on Earth, only Russia is larger.
I'm talking about population. How much of canada is virtually uninhabited.

Ok that's a total of two out of 50 or so and it's hugely inaccurate? So what if I miss one civ, it still doesn't detract from my argument.
If Canada becomes a civilization, then Australia has to become one too, and it'll be super OP because the AI will never try to attack it or nuke it.
they could try to add more civ leaders, like in civ 4
I want my stalin
