Civilization V - Civ: causing all nighters since 1991

Some advice I have for new players. (Which is kind of everyone.)

-Do not expand rapidly. Very hard to maintain a government spending program and happiness at the same time. Upkeep on roads alone is immense.

-Raze every enemy city you take. Capitols can't be razed unfortunately, so just don't build anything that raises upkeep near them.

-Pick off weak players first, don't take on super-states until you feel confident in all other flanks.

-Gandhi is a fucking maniac at building apparently.

One thing I hate: The intro movie can't be skipped (without editing an ini), because it's also the loading screen.

I think the intro skips, after pressing Esc, when the menu finishes loading but sometimes I think this causes it to crash the game.

So playing as the Romans with 6 other civs. So this Arisaka (that guy from western Africa, whatever his name is) is being bothersome, bothering me how my civ is shit and all that. He also happens to have only 2 cities, and 2 iron hexes (which I don't have any of, and absolutely need for my legionaries). So I declare war on him, smash his puny warriors and start besieging his capital, while Alexander jumps on the opportunity and declares war too. Alexander captures his second city, while I keep bombarding the capital. Then suddenly, his city bombards my only melee troop and one-shots it, then one troop of Alexander's shitty cavemen-soldiers rush in, attack the capital and take it.
He fucking stole the city right under my nose, so I do the only reasonable thing to do, declare war on Alexander (strongest civ in the game, according to the diplomacy screen) and charge the ex-capital. In short, Legionaries kick ass, I take the ex-capital. The turn after Alexander offers me a peace treaty offering me 4 cities, nearly all his gold and his luxury resources.
What is it with these desperate AIs? He could just have offered a treaty without anything and I would have accepted, I still did not have iron and only had 2 legionaries left.

Yeah, it can be skipped after it's finished loading, but before then the movie is just unwatchable

Also, what is it with other Civs ripping you off in trades?
Wanting almost all of my treasury for an open borders treaty for example

Just stabbed Caesar in the back, with Montezuma. Prick was finally down to a 1 hex strip of land, so I just let Mont's jaguars take the brunt of his attack (Incidentally, he didn't fight back at all. Lost everything), I waltz in with a couple Swordsmen, and clean up house

I defeated a civ with 3 units too, but on a marathon game before 20 BC.
Spearman, Scout and Archer.
The scout was a high enough level to have survivalism III, and Medic. My spearman also had Medic. Archer had various +strength things.

Scout went in first, right next to their city, and fortified. Spearman went right behind the scout, and fortified. Archer went behind the scout, next to the spearman. Archer bombarded every turn, slowly taking it down. Scout was being attacked because it was closest, but it healed so much every turn that it was basically invincible.

So, Montezuma is a prick, we kill Rome (He practically begged me to fight with him), now he's threatening me

I have this "thing" i couldn't understand, my capital city asked for gold and i have a gold mine on another city, but the gold doesn't show up or triggers the ILTK Day. any idea why ?

What I meant is it might be cheaper than buying it from Steam at the UK price.
It's $US40 cheaper than paying the AU price for it atleast.
