I just won the war with Gandhi. Caesar got wiped out and I lost half my cities to nukes. I won a domination victory, without even conquering anyone but Gandhi.

Seriously, is Gandhi being a giant dickwad some sort of running joke in the series? I remember when I played Civ III that he truly was one, back then I waged a brutal war against his hordes of war elephants when he declared war on me for no reason whatsoever.

Just finished the demo for this game. I wasn't really a fan of the Civilization series because, up until this point, I have only played Civ2: Test of Time and SMAC/SMAX. I loved those games to death, though. Now, it looks like I have another Civ game to play, perhaps for years. If I can ever get it.

The stories of Ghandi are quite humorous.

Gandhi just wiped out 3 of my cities. I had diverted my military force away from my mines and unto the front line against Egypt. Gandhi thought this would be the perfect time to declare war on me.

Ghandi sounds like something out of a nightmare.

I wonder why Gandhi's AI is always programmed to be a dick. Every game I've played with him, he's not a pacifist. Ever. "Gandhi the Great of India" has fucked my shit up enough already in Civ 5.

Something struck me while playing. Apparently this song: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwdnNyySDLI[/media] Became a kind of joke surrounding Europa Universallis 2 because of how completely contrasting it was to the rest of the period music. Sound familiar? (Yeah it's a real song but even try googling "Falalalan")

Game is not that heavy on graphics... at least in the demo.. I shall see in the real game

I feel like I'm playing this game too slowly. If I try to just straight pump science, I only just barely get technology at their real world equivalent times. I don't see how you guys are able to do the same and afford an army at the same time.

Start off for the first few turns building up a good road and farm system. Once you get this going open up some mines and trading stations. After that dedicate 1 city to science, one to military, and the other depending on what you want to that. The more cities you open and link to the capital though the better your chances are of succeeding.
