Oh, well don't trust me then...
So, I didn't think to turn off the Time victory condition before I started a huge marathon game. Now It's the year 2000 and I haven't finished building the apollo program and I doubt I'll be able to get a spaceship out before 2050. Is there some way to disable Time victory mid-game, or am I doomed to the most anti-climactic way to win ever?

Just won a Cultural victory, ended up with producing close to 700 culture per turn and over 100 happiness lol Was about 2010 when I won actually. I was playing on a rather easy difficulty though seeing as it was my first "real" Civ game (the setting right below normal).
Started a multiplayer game and we decided to be on same team and play with a lot of AI and city states. He gets placed on an island all alone and I end up on one with everything else and Gandhi being right next to me. :ohdear:
Japan has the most amazing unique ability ever. Just had a 1 HP scout take on a 7 HP brute, aww yeah. In the combat animation, that one bastard scout just fucking killed them all.
New BONK! prototype? v:v:v [editline]07:20AM[/editline]
Usually in civilization games quality>quantity
Is that why pretty much everyone had huge stacks of units everywhere during peacetime in Civ 4?
Seems like peace treaties get stuck quite often. For example the peace treaty I've had with Ramsess II has now been going for 50 turns, and I have a peace treaty with Catherine with whom I never even was at war with. Any way to circumvent that? I need to decalre war to Russia, I didn't position 10 Mechanized infantries, 4 modern armours and 3 missile artilleries all around their borders to then just get a "No you can't invade".
Starting a new game, but I don't know which nation I should choose. Maybe the Chinese. Peace treaties are completely broken. If you agree to a proposed peace agreement, which should last 10 turns, you will never be able to declare war again. Only provoking through diplomatic actions or nukes.

If you don't know which civ to choose just do random, even if there's a few you really don't want to play, in case you get them just restart. Guys I have an idea to declare war even when the peace treaties last forever, I can't test it though because that bug never happened to me. You know how when you position troops next to a civ's borders they ask you if you're planning to attack them? Then you can either say yes and let them attack you first or no and then if you attack them other civs wont trust you, so what if you do just that, when they ask you if you're just passing by, tell them it's war, maybe then the peace treaty will be over?
Not... true...
For me it is. Happened in all my games so far. But I never accept peace treaties, just keep on crushing the enemy.
Anyone know if you can play in windowed mode and, if so, how?
Anyone know if you can play in windowed mode and, if so, how?
You uncheck the fullscreen option obviously.
I'm still pissed that Sid Meier still hasn't implemented a cover system
So when does the game end with time victory? I'm in 2051 and it still hasn't ended. I don't think the world can sustain many more turns, I have conquered all of Africa, Europe (including Russia and Siberia), most of South America and half of North America. I'm at war with China, India and the Iroquois (All of which have around 20 cities, and since they all are in their real positions in the world, they come from all sides), and more or less 1 nuclear missile each 3 turns is dropped. I am winning, but damn I can't keep this up much longer. Also thanks Dublin for that GDR.
If you capture a city with a Wonder is it destroyed or does it become yours? I'm asking because I never noticed.

Hey guys, how easy is a domination victory? I'm japan right now, and I've conqured two out of three of Rome's cities. Any tips?
Hey guys, how easy is a domination victory? I'm japan right now, and I've conqured two out of three of Rome's cities. Any tips?
Wait for Rome to come up with a peace treaty, they will give you lots of shit, and gives you time to heal up your army and then position your troops around the city. And wait till the peace treaty ends. The Germans are quite good at domination early game, because of their perk that captures barbarians. Makes them have military superiority early.
For a domination victory you just need to take each civ's capital. The capital is usually a civ's best city, so I'd suggest getting open borders agreements with your targets, scout the landscape and then plan your quickest route to their capital. Make sure to take other cities which you think will do good, too, but try to not keep to many useless cities or your economy will be fucked up from too many angry faces and not enough gold.
Does anyone play online for it?
After over 500 turns and in the year 2060, the AI seems to be just... Not doing anything. It's all quiet and there's no wars or pacts being formed, I only saw one ship belonging to a City State sail by my main island in about 30 turns Also, 380 turns into the game I discovered my first wonder, and China said stop being greedy with discovering them
God the AI is so buggy. Napoleon ended an open borders agreement with me and then one turn later he asks for open borders with the same terms :downs:
Whenever i want to open borders with the AI, the AI refuses. Am i doing it right? I go to trade -> Open borders on both.
Whenever i want to open borders with the AI, the AI refuses. Am i doing it right? I go to trade -> Open borders on both.
They probably feel they have nothing to gain from that deal, usually 50-100 gold extra is ok, just ask them what would make the deal work.

As soon as I hit the Industrial Age the AI just kinda went "Well fuck it." and stopped developing. By the time the second strongest Civ next to myself had even researched Infantry I'd already researched Future Tech about 5 or 6 times and was building the last spaceship component.
