One week to go. I can't wait.
If I hate 99% of strategy games (mostly RTS though) is there still an off-chance that I might like this? I've always wanted to get into strategy games but never could.
Pick up Civilization IV and try it. I've never met someone who has played it and wasn't immediately hooked.

Nukes in Civ IV were disappointing. I hope in Civ V it actually obliterates the city instead of just lowering it to level 1.

I'm not really sure whether or not to buy it. I mean, I loved Civ4 but I eventually got bored of the turn based style of gameplay. What I really want is for them to make a rts version of the game.

Finished preloading Civ 5 woo
Cracked and pre-ordered it. One week to go! :buddy:
Nukes
Sweeeeeet.
Closest you get to real-time combat and Civilization is Total War.
Excuse me? [img_thumb]http://www.oyun-indir.info/oyun_resim/Rise%20of%20Nations00.jpg[/img_thumb]
Rise of Nations is sort of like if you mixed Civilization II with an RTS, it's an awesome game.
I already have it. It's pretty fun but I still want a Civ rts.
Closest you get to real-time combat and Civilization is Total War.
Rise of Nations is like Civilization in RTS, you got pretty much the same time periods, and the combat is kind of similar if you look at it in the rock-paper-scissors kind of way where in CIV it's spears>horses>melee>spears and archers are good at defending, when in RoN if I'm not mistaken it's heavy infantry>light infantry>archers>heavy infantry. Both also have almost the same world wonders, several ways to win a game, diplomacy etc. [editline]01:29PM[/editline] ninja'd but I gave more details.

In terms of good world games Hearts of Iron is better, that and Total war games. The only thing Civs has for it is the fact that it goes through the ages. But RoN has that, also.
Translation: I couldn't beat Settler.
The Civ games aren't exactly hard to master.
Easy to learn, but hard to master.
Meh, uberstacking isn't overly hard to do.
I loved the Total War games, is there a chance that I would love this? I've never played a Civ game before, and I'm looking to get into it.

You won't see any fancy gigantic armies fighting eachother. Still the game is great and the world map and the UI looks nifty.
I can't decide if I should buy this, or Final Fantasy XIV. I hate the Q4 Gaming Season. It's the time I go bankrupt.

Day 1 buy.
