strange, I've no issue with huge map games with that sort of length and I'm running on a medium spec system. i7 720 and a geforce 230gm.
so many good critics from many good reviewers, this is a must-buy game
I remember going to war with China, I had around 100 times more units than them and had taken over half of there land until they requested a peace treaty in return that I give them all my stuff?? what the fuck.
I always laugh when I am at war for something that they caused or because they settled in an area that I want control of, then they offer peace treaties for free. Yeah fucking right, like I am just going to declare peace when you settled your cities right on top of fucking mine, cockblocking the road system I developed. I might play nice if you give me luxury resources to counter act this, but no. I ask for luxuries and/or gold and you always say, "NO WAY! NOT FAIR! WE'LL GIVE YOU THIS SINGLE LUXURY RESOURCE AND AGREE TO PEACE IF YOU GIVE US ALL OF YOURS!" Are you joking? How about I just destroy you and take all your resources myself since I am clearly winning and you have no more military left. Then they always go "Sadface :( I underestimated you" when I kill them. Well maybe next time you shouldn't start wars and then suggest peace when you're getting annhilated and offer nothing... I hope there is a REAL fucking deplomacy mod out. Would be good to play against AI that didn't do completely illogical actions.
innit

Open borders :eng101:
I love this game. My empire is about to take over the eastern hemisphere !
Open borders :eng101:
How about just zzz? :v:
I love this game. My empire is about to take over the eastern hemisphere !
PARTEYH! In my Greece game.. i'm just way spread out over a single continent. I started just bashing in the Aztecs, but everyone poked me so i ended up screwing two more and finally took on Suleiman who was roughly my size. Now i've got 5 Companion cavalry riding towards Russia who appearantly observed jackshit of the ordeal and wants to take a crack at me with their one-scout-army. Germany on the other hand just wiped out Gandhi and are marching towards my un-armed south. My situation now is that i have just about 5-6 turns to chop down 7 russian cities, March 40+ tiles south and defend my border. Or i can spend my cash on units to hold off/feed Hit- Bismarck untill i make it there. I somehow also managed to have 20+ puppet cities. Facepunch, this started out as an epic win... now it's close to epic clusterfuck of 20+ minute turns and it's still 200-ish BC. WHAT THE HELL!? How i curse Rasputins influence on a Zarina that lived long before him and how i rage at Hitlers stupid full-scale world dominance aproach to diplomacy from a guy that preceeded him by well over 100 years. All 2000+ years before any of them even lived! HELP!?
I made a Civ group. http://www.facepunch.com/group.php?groupid=1694
I think we should get a civ game going. Total number of 6 people sound good? Unlimited turn time. Hit me up on steam
Is Japan overpowered? Bushido: Units fight as though they were at full strength even when damaged. That sounds ridiculously overpowered compared to... Barbary Corsairs: 50% Chance of converting a Barbarian naval unit to your side and earning 25 Gold. or Furor Teutonicus: Upon defeating a Barbarian unit inside an encampment, there is a 50% chance you earn 25 Gold and they join your side. Seriously?

The AI needs to learn basic economics. Every time that guy completes his list of people who like shiny things the most, I'm winning by about 5,000 to 10,000.
strange, I've no issue with huge map games with that sort of length and I'm running on a medium spec system. i7 720 and a geforce 230gm.
Before someone points out the i7, I have a Q9550 (not over-clocked) and I easily get to 465 turns on huge maps with 12 players without problems.

This game is great. Started a 5 player game on earth and i took over the whole of Africa. China conquered almost everything except South America and tried to invade me. My defence destroyed his army, and i counterattacked him so hard he gave up and handed me all his conquered land, gold and resources. Multiplayer could have been better though. It gets laggy after a number of turns, and i really miss the animations on units.
I have a Q9550 and after about 450 turns the game starts to get sketchy.
Yeah for me it's around that mark it starts having problems. Smooth sailing (well, nearly) up till that point though.
Well my egypt game went poorly. Everything was nice, i had a huge coastal array of cities set up pumping out 100 gold per turn. then ghandi out of nowhere just declares war on me and takes 4/5 of my cities :saddowns:
Gah i've annihilated everyone but one, and i can't attack them because it says we have a peace treaty agreement. Must be a bug because the last peace treaty i had with them should have ended 200 turns ago. Any way to cancel it?
Ghandi is a threat which must be destroyed before he expands and gains a lot of power.

Seriously?
The German unique ability is quite good, with some luck you can get a small force going, and just keep on exploring the map, finding barbarian encampments, kill them, and get more units, then use all those units to take over someone. You save on a lot of hammers this way, and in ciV they're harder to come by than in CIV.
Just got this game as a late birthday gift, sweet!

Playing as America, I've conquered every city on my home continent (fractal map) and now I just have an island of city states to conquer before moving my way onto Hiawatha. Manifest Destiny indeed
I still can't believe Firaxis is so fucking incompetent that the still haven't released a patch that fixes any of the crashing problems.
