Ghandi is an asshole. I gave up on my game because it was like 2010, and he was destroying everyone, and I knew I didn't stand a chance at winning any kind of victory.
What difficulty?
I remember playing this once, then a day later my motherboard melted I am too scared to touch the executable now, but I wan't to play it again...
Civ V is on sale for $12.50 this weekend on Steam.
Civ V is on sale for $12.50 this weekend on Steam.
Seeing as you are on a Mac, how well does Civ V run on a Mac? I have a C2D Macbook that I would love to play Civ on in between classes.
What difficulty?
Normal difficulty. Normally I would take his ass on, but I gave up, considering how close it was to end game, I wouldn't have the time to move my units around and actually get any ground. I never struggled at all, militarily. I was slow to build up my forces, but once I really got to it, I quickly had a massive navy, making my territory (This is an islands map) untouchable. God i love this game
Playing on World Map (Huge) I'm in Renaissance era. Also, this doesn't include my 4 cities in Alaska (all french :V, took the capital too) and my City in South America which I take from Lhasa (city state) after finding "ancient technology" in ruins and upgrading my Crossbowman to riflemen. The French cities (Tours and the other one next to it + Nagoysa I just settled/took, which is why they're low in growth level) Am I doing good?

Last time I played on his Mac it ran perfectly fine. But there was a shit load of animation errors (t-poses everywhere) though. Does anyone else miss Rhyes of Civilization? That mod for Civ 3 & 4 was the fucking best mod ever.
Am I doing good?
Kinda. Turn on your singleplayer scoreboard from menu and it helps a bit. Then you know who you would like to have your friend and enemy. And I think you have too many cities, you need to have only 1-4 "own" cities. As you can see, you should now build buildings in your cities, forexample 83 turns till Samurai? Really? I think you should build a workshop or anysame kind of building. And WONDERS!
I just found an ancient ruin somewhere on an lonely island and the age was 2024 AC
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/01/080116-lost-city.html
The article doesn't state whether they found APC's in the city, so we'll have to assume they did.
In Civ 4, how does one counter the "Unhealthiness"? They always get sick no matter what, I have 5 cities, aqueducts and shit but nothing works.
Unhealthiness? Do you mean starving? Build more farms, discover fertilizer and click on the city you want healthy-> Focus on food. Oh, 4. Nevermind.
Unhealthiness? Do you mean starving? Build more farms, discover fertilizer and click on the city you want healthy-> Focus on food. Oh, 4. Nevermind.
No, sickness.
No, sickness.
Unhealthiness is also affected by how much food you have. I think several buildings and technologies add +1 healthiness per farm and food source. If not, destroy all mines and workshops your stupid workers made and replace them with other, more friendly improvements.

And how do I reduce population? Everyone is :( IT TOO CROWDED DAMNIT .
That feel when you discover iron/aluminium/uranium and you've not only got some in your boarders, but there's already a mine there.
That feel when you discover iron/aluminium/uranium and you've not only got some in your boarders, but there's already a mine there.
Or in the case of oil, most if it's in the middle of the ocean.
Fucking Wu built her damn city 5 fucking times after I razed it 5 damn times. Shit I always have the urge to restart the a game.
I harassed Gandhi as the asshole he is. I pillaged everything in his lonely city right in the middle of nowhere. His main cities and capital is on a continent far away.
Anyone here up for some nice online action in Civ V tonite? It'd be darn fun.
Sure. Add me on Steam whenever you want to play.
Saw Civ V for £15 in ASDA while I was out shopping and thought, "Last time I checked steam it was still £30" so I bought it then got home to find it is 75% off.:suicide:
This fucker was building all the Wonders I tried to build. He ended up with 6 wonders and I only had one... ended up being Gandhi... fucking bitch
The developers must have some crazy lines in the AI config for Gandhi. I swear, he has some special abilities somewhere that can only be triggered if the AI is playing as him.
Just purchased it last night, fuck yeah, forming my Japanese empire. Slowly expanding and exploring, gonna attempt to really focus on upgrading everything else. I made it to the Classical Era second to last, so I really need to step my game up. I think I was last researching Math, or something similar.
Apparently, Ghandi is coded to have a 110% chance to rush for nukes. I love this game more every day.

I love the entire CIV Series. I play Civ 2 on my Android all the time, and CIV 5 was equally good, my struggle with this new installment is that after a while, usually during the middle or renaissance period the game will dramatically start slowing down and each turn just becomes a lag fest causing me to just stop playing.
