Got gifted this as a Birthday present, I can't wait to give it a go. Civ 3 and 4 were rad.
Also, the standard price of $80 USD, isn't that a bit insane? Atleast it was down to 20 this weekend.

Why. Why would they do this to those poor Aussies. I mean, what have they ever done besides punch kangaroos or something?

Jesus, the fact that it's coded in just makes him scarier, time to take the guy down a notch.
I'm making an Australian civilization now, they've been left out for too long! Michael Atkinson will be their leader who's terror rivals that of Ghandi!
This sucks ass, I spent my money on RO2 and now I can't afford this :saddowns:

Scratch that! People on the internet are really kind.
I just finished a game on marathon mode with 12 Civs, took me the better part of 2 days, i was going for a space victory.
It feels good to just focus on Science and Culture, I just spam wonders and and stuff that gives me great scientists. I had about 7 wonders and 37 technology when the next best civ had about 2 wonders and 17 technology. Also Ghandi doesn't do shit? He had next to no gold and only 2 cities, His army was weak and he had no wonders. I really don't see the problem.

Same here, i was playing as eqypt, bombing the shit out of Berlin with America doing the same, and i thought, what the fuck happened to India? turns out Songhai demolished india. Then i nuked Washington and claimed victory.

Games outside America usually costs more than you guys have to pay. But I can understand shipments etc etc.
But I don't understand how Steam forces us europeans to pay with Euro. €=$ argument is silly.
Is there a Saladin character in Civ V?
Was using a mod to play as Hitler, shoved my U-boats up Ghandi's ass. Felt good man.
Is there a Hitler mod for Civ4?
Is there a Hitler mod for Civ4?
No idea, I'm on Civ5. I could probably make one, but that'll take a while.

Actually, I'll do it. He will be the most peaceful AI ever.

Made me think of this

He looks so friendly on that picture.
I sat up a game (Can you say that?) as Denmark and I got the best starting point I have ever started at. Lots of production tiles.

After scouting, I discovered a lot of cattle and other useful tiles not far from there. I sat up (that word again) a settler there as soon as I could. Two rounds later I got in war with Washington, but he wanted peace shortly after. He did no harm but offered me a bit of gold and a smile on his face.

"Heeey Himmler.... Whatcha doin' tonight?"
Is there a limit to the size of an army?
I mean, can I have a 200,000 man army?

The only limit is how much you have without crippling your economy.
Or filling every single tile in the world, whichever comes first, I guess.

A wild Gandhi appears.
I need some advice. I'm Russian and Siam built its empire all up in my business. So I'm trying to fight a war with it but there is literally no iron on my continent. I managed to conquer their smallest city by throwing like 3 mounted units at it. But I can't construct my siege machines until I find iron that isn't there. So essentially my question is this, how can I destroy Siam without siege machines?

Have several ranged units ready and have plenty of melee units attacking the city all at once is probably the best you can do. Horsemen aren't that good to attack cities, so have them pillage his trading posts since that is where most of his income comes from.
Should probably eliminate Siam as soon as possible, he usually gets VERY strong late game. If you can't, make sure he doesn't ally with any maritime city states or his science and population gets out of control.

I'm going to split up infantry in three types: Ranged, Support and Heavy.
Ranged are units like archers and crossbowmen. They aren't very powerful against cities, but if you hit a city with 2-3 of them, you can essentially negate the healing per turn.
Support units are the ones which don't cost any resources, such as spearmen and pikemen. Don't use them to attack the city, because they get a penalty and get raped. Instead, use them to cover your archers and heavy infantry.
Heavy infantry are swordsmen and longswordmen, stuff like that. But you need iron for them early on, so they're not an option. If you had them, you could've used them to whittle down the cities and then heal while your archers cancelled the heal per turn.
So basically, you have two options: Rushing a city with cavalry, hitting it and falling back, while using archers to cancel the healing per turn and support units to cover the ranged units. This will take some time because it requires constant healing and such, but you should be able to pull it off and once it's at about 33% of its health, maybe you can use the pikemen or spearmen for the finishing blows.
The other option is simply bribing a city-state that has iron with 1000 gold if you have the money. But if you have that money, you might as well just trade it for iron from another civ and use the leftover money to rushbuild some siege engines.
Or, you can rush tech to chemistry. The cannons there don't require any resources, but it might take a while to climb there, depending on how far you are in the tech tree.
EDIT: Also, Siam gets those elephants mid-game. Very tough and they have spears which give a bonus against your horsemen, so unless you have a huge superiority of them, I suggest going extremely infantry heavy for now.
Well he fought off my forces with archers and warriors so I'd say Siam is still pretty far behind. The good thing is that I managed to wrest control of their city closest to me and force him into peace. Now I have a road that leads directly to his next city so I'm going to start stockpiling something.
I'm pretty far into the medieval era so I might be able to get cannons soon, the I can just ride them down the road and assault his city. What should I use as meat shields? I guess if I have spare warriors I could use them to get the boulders being heaped from the city off my back.
On the talk of cities, what do you guys usually do with your conquered cities? I decided to make this one a puppet and see what happens.
