...everything was going so well. Literally 7 out of 8 nations were in a defensive pact with me. Then suddenly out of nowhere, my closest ally Darius declared war on all sorts of people. My artillery destroyed his invasion force but still..We were so close to unification. Peace was at hand but man craves war. I just wish I had seen it sooner!
Eradicate his pitiful army, and continue with peace negotiations.
No..I realize now that the only way to save us is to finish the UN building before bloodshed continues. I must become leader of the world.
Caesar is the new Gandhi, calling it now. He declared war with me twice, just to negotiate peace with everything I had. Goddamn bitch. His army is way stronger than mine too and even his one Legion could slaughter my entire army. I accepted peace as soon as I could, seeing as how I only have three cities.
Siam did the same thing to me: Not shown is that he also wants ALL of my cities. His army is so big that it makes real life America look puny yet he has no idea how to use it.
How do I assign people to these mines? When Paris was my only city, the mines was within my borders. [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Fra.png[/thumb] Fix your shit, Developers.

That's gay.

It is done. I have saved the world...
Nuked Gandhi's fucking ass.
Just to let everyone know I did get tired of Darius flailing his dick around and so I captured almost all of his cities, and razed them all. That seemed to cool him down a bit.
Fucking Ghandi.
Playing as the same civ again and again is boring though. And I underestimated how much forces you need to hold of constant waves of barbarians, would've helped if I took the honour policy path.
I've already played as every civ, at least twice each. I just chose Egypt as my main, I like it. I'm treating the game like Starcraft, for you must choose one race and work off of it. Barbarians are really easy to handle if you're on the defending side, try to place your units on a hill one or two spaces from them (in your territory), wait for their attack then they'll be weak. Quickly regenerate your units HP then strike back.
No..I realize now that the only way to save us is to finish the UN building before bloodshed continues.
Nuked Gandhi's fucking ass.
You wasted a nuke on his pitiful ass?
Just to let everyone know I did get tired of Darius flailing his dick around and so I captured almost all of his cities, and razed them all. That seemed to cool him down a bit.
I remember I once captured all of Gandhi's cities (except the capital), made them all puppets, and asked for Gandhi to hand over ALL of his resources. He refused, so I proceeded to Raze all of his cities at once. It was beautiful.
1059 isn't a lot of gold, imo. I usually get around the 6000s by the Renaissance on normal.
1059 isn't a lot of gold, imo. I usually get around the 6000s by the Renaissance on normal.
What the fuck, you should be spending that stuff like crazy. I was assuming he does the same. I get around 200+ gold-per-turn in the Renaissance era (hard) and I spend it like mad to expand my empire.
You guys and your fancy video games real men play this. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6232230/Stuff%20for%20people/2011-09-18-18-27-59.jpg[/img_thumb] Found it in my closet I have yet to play it.
I do hope there is peace between our people too, Gandhi
I do hope there is peace between our people too, Gandhi
You're shitting me. Did he really say that?
I'm p. sure it's photshopped.
So, no one is really playing this against human opponents, it seems? Before I bought it, I often heard people complaining about the AI, so it would probably be more enjoyable to throw in at least one other human player, wouldn't it? Other than that, I have the same problem with this game that I have with DF: Like the title says, it's one of those "One more round!" kinda deals, so I'll play and play, and after a while, I'll just start thinking "Dude, what are you even doing here, it just keeps going, and you could use your time so much better", at which point I'll stop again. Shame. I really like the game for what it is.

[editline]18th September 2011[/editline] The AI isn't that bad at all actually.
What is MP like? Can you do a coop thing and have the rest of the players AI?
I don't play online because it always ends up me vs the AI as usual half an hour in.
What is MP like? Can you do a coop thing and have the rest of the players AI?
Yes. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline]
I don't play online because it always ends up me vs the AI as usual half an hour in.
Same.
Ha, how do you have that much gold yet your army is smaller than his? What difficulty is this?
Was one of my first tries on Deity. Don't remember that game much, but basically he allied with several militaristic city-states and just kept pumping out units while having a ton of cities. The advantages that the AIs get in Deity is just insane.
Started a game on Deity difficulty, lasted to about turn 170 on standard length before getting steam rolled by legionaries.

What buildings/wonders/policies do you dispite and favor? I have a hard time picking wonders and buildings.
What buildings/wonders/policies do you dispite and favor? I have a hard time picking wonders and buildings.
Freedom and rationalism, as are my views on real politics :v: Commerce is good depending if I have lots of coast to work with or if not honour is helpful. I usually start off with either tradition or Liberty depending on the map size and type. The Statue of Liberty would be my favourite wonder, plus anything that boosts growth, border expansion or food supply.
That's gay.
Spread your border that way. Or get a Great Merchant and Culture Bomb that area.
What buildings/wonders/policies do you dispite and favor? I have a hard time picking wonders and buildings.
My favorite policy is patronage because I love forming alliances with all the city states. Its expensive but so worth it if you want a big boost to your culture, military, and other things. Also when you are friends with most of them, you hardly ever have collect resources.
