Rhyse and fall of civilization.
Rhyse and fall of civilization.
I'll check it out
Holy shit, I just starting playing CIVILIZATION NiGHTS mod, it's amazing.
Going up against the Aztecs next, but their empire is fucking huge. The picture is a tad outdated. I've since captured both of China's cities, and 2 city states that are slightly above China in the picture. I've also gotten a few musketmen at my disposal. Can someone give me a plan of attack? I don't have much room to send an entire invasion force through that bottleneck next to Kuala Lampur, so where can I go from here? [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline] Also, my Military Adviser says my military is around the same strength as theirs. Not sure how reliable that advice is, but whatever.

Eventhough the enemy captures it, the enemy should lose a lot of units and there's a high chance of the enemy ignoring you for a handful of turns. Well, unless your enemy has cities and units all over everywhere.

If you're able to mass up enough gold combined with an equal, greater, or maybe lesser army you should be able to win with enough luck. Can CS be perma-war with other Civs?

If I attack Kuala Lampur, I'm pretty sure the Aztecs will fuck my shit up, but if I attack the Aztecs first I'll have few units to fuel my Aztec conquest and will probably get skull fucked for the first set of turns in the war due to my army being split. They've set up somewhere around 5 units just outside my city closest to Kuala Lampur.
Can CS be perma-war with other Civs?
Only if you're both still allies and you're at war with the other ones. By theory they still can be, but the other Civs usually make peace after a bit.
is there a chance that advisors can be wrong with their information

I would explore that area and if there is a CS there, I'd invest my gold on that CS. Especially if it's a militaristic one. Look up what your Military Advisor says. If the Aztecs has an army which "CAN WIPE YOU OUT OF EXISTANCE!!", invest your gold on defensive structures and/or units. [editline]2nd October 2011[/editline]
is there a chance that advisors can be wrong with their information
Not really. If your enemy has a stronger army but your defense is strong(er), they can be wrong with their "They can wipe you out of existence, sue for peace immediately!" and so on. The AI tends to fuck up pretty often.
is there a chance that advisors can be wrong with their information
Yes, but it's ever so slight.
I usually give my luxury resources to a civ i'm about to attack to wipe out their gold reserves, then I wage war on them and I get my luxuries back, while keeping their gold.

I've amassed troops next to Kuala Lampur to try and push through to capture Istanbul straight away. If Kuala Lampur tries anything I'm going to steamroll them due to the massive army I have set at their boarders. I've also sent a few cannons over sea to try and hit Istanbul with something other and infantry to try and capture it easier. With 55 gold a turn I think if they start to kill my units I could just buy more out of my closest city. Wish me luck.
Is there any way to make Civ4 more Civ5 like.
I got raped in my first vanilla game :(

Take it first to stop you getting any nasty surprises, and launch a two-pronged attack on Texcoco.

Lost all my siege units within 5 turns, and he mopped up the rest of my army in 20 without me destroying a single city of his. He just has way too many environmental advantages like hills and me crossing forests and rivers. I really don't want to mess with him right now. Would it be wise for me to wait a while for really powerful military units, then go in and kill him?
If there are any unclaimed lands, try sending some units over there to train them up a bit on barbarians. Go for the rough terrain bonuses.
Holy mother of god I just spent all my bloody afternoon and night playing this bloody game, 'just one turn more'. This game as Ethiopia is coming along sweetely, I shall conquer the world and turn it black!
So, quick question, what's the highest income you guys have ever achieved? I've only hit about 900/turn, which apparently is fairly low.
I love this game, I feel like America invading the greeks for oil
Something I've been trying to figure out, since the tooltips don't help. Do Railroads ONLY give the production bonus when trade routes are established? Or is it the production bonus IN ADDITION to the gold bonus? Also which is best? I usually use just roads because it gives the most gold with the least upkeep. But would it be better to use railroads?
I feel like a twat for bumping this just for this question, but what are the major changes from Civ III -> IV -> V? Which would you recommend the most?

It's been nearly a year since the last DLC - expansion pack soon?
Did anyone happen to get another copy of Civ 5? I missed the sale by like an hour :/
It's been nearly a year since the last DLC - expansion pack soon?
Yes, actually, there's a huge pack with a bunch of new civs and units, a diplomacy overhaul, spying, and religion coming out in spring. [editline]12th March 2012[/editline] "The add-on will include new religion and espionage systems, nine new civilizations, over 27 new units, new buildings, new wonders, new natural wonders, new scenarios, and new resources. That’s a lot of new, but our biggest take-away from the interview is that the expansion isn’t just about adding, but also improving the existing AI, multiplayer, and balance." I've just gotten all of the DLC's recently for my birthday. Jesus Christ, can Korea be any more OP?
