Once you get the Mechanized Infantry everyone else better shit themselves.
That unit fucks shit up.
Multiplayer is so empty on Civ V :(
I only play multiplayer with friends, randoms seems too iffy.

Thats because the developers don't support it. Even if you get in a game be prepared to never see any DLC factions due to one player not having it, multiple crashes in a game, lag, even stupider AI, more lag, no mod support, games never getting finished, and competitive gameplay that ends classical/early medieval era because city spamming+swordsman rush is the best strategy currently.

So I was re-mobilizing my army to assemble by the borders of Hanoi until THIS MOTHERFUCKER decides to declare war on my ass. So now I have to send my troops BACK over to the Middle East region to deal with his horde of obsolete, legionnaire swordsmen.

The Roman scum used Cape Town as their staging point into the Middle Eastern region and they also sent troops through RUSSIA to have their legionnaires push on my northern borders and my easternmost regions of my empire. So now I liberated the city-state of Capetown, repelled his mini-incursions on my northern border, set up a colony in Madagascar and now I have a foothold in Northern Africa.
So Rome decides to wage war on me 3 times. My city of Medina was right next to their borders and they were pissed about it. So all three times they lost because i had powerful defenses. The third time, though, i decided to attack, because i was pissed. It was horsemen/swordsmen/pikemen vs warriors/spearmen. I took their city close to my border and headed for Rome. There, i took out half of its health before he offered peace, which was all his gold, resources, and his last two cities. I took the offer, razed one city and kept the other. A few turns after that, denmark waged war on rome and took another city he had recently built. They only had ranged units by the time they got to Rome so they were constantly in the red, but could not be captured. I took advantage of this, sold some gold to Rome for straight cash, then captured Rome in less than one turn.
Started a game as Polynesia. Had a shaky beginning but fairly quickly became the the game leader out of 12 Civs on a Huge Terra map. Japan were just South of me and we'd had tense relations all game so far. Every other Civ hated them and denounced them except me.
Guess who he decided to send waves of troops at and declare war with 3 fucking times.
Made me rage quit.
I've not played this in ages. But the 'Gods And Kings' expansion will make me love this game again.
God, I just wish that the multiplayer was optimized and far more accessible. It is such a pain in the ass to play this game online. Immense lag and no combat animations, it makes everything confusing.

The beta patch optimizes multiplayer and adds combat animations to it.
So askia declares war on me twice and makes peace right after like 5 turns. So then after like 70 turns of him talking shit i take that shithole askia down and the the whole world denounces me. Fuckers
I heard they're fixing a bunch of stupid AI issues in Gods and Kings, including the infamous "Oh, you're whupping my ass in a huge war and burning down all my cities? I'll offer you peace if you give me all your gold, resources, and cities"
And on top of that, it would be them who started the war in the first place.
I once had a game where Caesar was talking shit about me until I finally had enough and cut off all trades with him. He declared war once we stopped sharing our technological advancements. I kicked his ass back to the stone age. When he was down to his last 2 or 3 cities he pleaded for peace. Offering that I give him every resource possible. I found it much more cost effective to finish the job.

Worse part about it is, he backstabbed me out of the blue. The entire game we were helping each other out. Allying the same people and shit. Then he changes his mind for no reason at all. Definitely was not bro material.

So I was purifying Australia of it's aboriginals when Askia suddenly declares war on Rome. Then, City-states everywhere declare war on Askia. Looks like Rome allied itself with the rest of the city-states after my war with him.
I hope the expansion makes the ai stop hating you for waging war on a threatening country.
Montezuma literally DoW'd me six times from Ancient Era to Industrial era, when I finally decided to finish him off for good.
I find it amusing that the bots sometimes mock my territory size when I'm currently loading my carriers with nuclear bombers.
I find it amusing that the bots sometimes mock my territory size when I'm currently loading my carriers with nuclear bombers.
Queen Elizabeth was mocking me because she controlled half of Europe. I had all of Africa and most of Asia. And she was my fucking ally. Now she's part of my empire.
Also, I HATE the roads of this game. Those crappy loops. I have to hand make all my road networks to avoid it, and I always redo the areas I conquer.
So I came into possession of this game which looks pretty damn good, but what's up with the MP? Neither me or my friends can host or join a game, the host just DCs.
Also, I have to say, my patriotism was hankering for some Caravels
Just finished a team game with friends.
The game started off with three teams, all individuals on their own small continents. About roughly 30-40 turns in, one of the teams (which went dual egypts) basically rush built a LOT of wonders. This coincidentally shot their score up above everyone else and continued to do so for the rest of the game (eventually being double of 2nd place). Me and the guy on my team decided that because of this, a scientific-premature naval strike would be best to cripple them: the boat part failed miserably and started a war between us that went to the end of the game. Although we were tanking science pretty hard, the Egypts chose a straight path to nukes and began to bomb my friend. I managed to slow the pain by mass building and buying subs and destroyers, but unfortunately we were surrounded, and the massive amount of money on the opposite team ensured it wouldn't stop. After an extremely dull grind of radioactive galore, we managed to build the UN and won a close 5 vote victory (which was the amount required).
Later I learned the top player on the opposing Egypt team actually bribed the Romans on team three (which became the third wheel since the other player left mid game) to go to war with us, but it instantly backfired in the same turn for some reason and made them go to war with Egypt. This also caused Rome's only ally city state to be peace blocked against Egypt, winning a crucial vote.
Even better. Apparently that same top player switched his difficulty to settler right before the game started :downs:
Fuck you, Siam:

It's now 1954 ingame and they cover pretty much the entire continent. Why does Siam always expand like crazy?

I am purple, it is the year 1855.
Rome is awesome. (it's earth, and the biggest size for maps)

(sorry for shit quality)
Was having a pretty good round as the Spanish. Entire world seemed really friendly with one another except for Montezuma who decided to betray fucking everybody.
Eventually he decided to roll in his swarm of Jaguars into my capital, but I was able to fend him off thanks to the sacrifice of a few brave scouts (brave, beautiful motherfuckers who made their country proud) and the fact that I had built the great wall wonder and also some convenient rivers that slowed them down.
I'd just managed to begin cranking out an actual army and making alliances with Polynesia and Denmark when my game decided to crash and I realized I hadn't saved.
Fuck.

I see you've invaded Candyland
I remember on an old setup I had, I played on the Earth map, graphics started getting bugged to high hell, kinda like that.
How can I prevent games from lagging and acting all crap in later portions? Lowering the graphics didn't do much at all. I'm assuming getting a better build would be the option
That would have to do mostly with processor and/or RAM.
