Well, he is Genghis Khan.
Genghis is apparently pretty easy to figure out; he's fairly laid back up until the moment he shares a border with you then he suddenly turns into the neighbor from hell. The leader you want to watch out for is Oda Nobunaga, who's coded to be as untrustworthy as possible.
Playing as the Germans, I have just finished eradicating the Greeks from the east coast of north America (good thing I didn't learn my history form Civ huh). Dunno about the changes to diplomacy yet, Alexander was a retard, he kept mocking and denouncing me when I was leagues above him in everything but military (I had 8 cities, he had 2, he only had a slight military edge, but it was number not tech). Decided he was better off gone, took me about 4 turns to completely turn around the military balance and end up with a huge advantage (6 Landsknecht, 3 catapults, 3 archers and 4 swordsmen against his 4 spearmen and 2 archers).
Have to say though taking cities can be a huge pain in the ass, especially when the cunts places it holed up in some mountain range where only 1 unit at the time can attack.
Playing as the Spanish is based on quite a bit of luck hoping you get natural wonders to fully take advantage of your passive. It is just annoying when their is none on the map at all
Just Won a science victory as Korea! Been playing for 8 hours straight today.
I was basically just finishing the game I started yesterday. The glorious nation of Korea was well on it's way to being a Super Power.

Unfortunately, I began to grow concerned after Songhai had taken India. He was getting very aggressive and troops were being placed at various areas around our new border. I took the initiative and launched a preemptive strike against him, hoping to push him a little further back into his territory. The actual results were a lot worse. My invasion of Songhai led the other two major world leaders viewing me as a danger and all united together to stop me. So began the First World War.

The conflict lasted around 30 to 40 years until I was able to create a makeshift peace treaty with all the other nations. While Washington and Isabella both agreed Songhai took a little more persuasion, but he eventually agreed. So I began construction my own Maginot line along our border.

Sadly, this did not last and again I found myself between a rock and a hard place. Songhai were stationing more and more troops along the border and I had to decide whether to preemptively strike once again and risk my already shaky diplomatic standing, or risk Askia's army growing so large it would overwhelm me. Interestingly, I'd just completed the Manhattan Project and had a very risky strategy at my disposable. After mulling it over, I hit the button. My bomber began it's slow journey over Songhai's closest city and attacked. A new, Nuclear confrontation had begun and it would last to the end of days.

With Mumbai being the vital strategic point (It gave each of us a respective view of each other's front lines), I dropped bomb after bomb after bomb onto his forces. Rendering the plains of Mumbai an uninhabitable wasteland for generations.

This war would continue for the rest of days, with the front line going back forth over and over again, with little progress on either side. However, while this war raged on, the Koreans Scientific community had exploded into an age of enlightenment, quickly sending them to the forefront of scientific progress. The KSP (Korean Space Program) was founded with the majority of resources being pushed to them instead of the war effort, in a bid to reach Alpha Centauri before the decade was over. After much struggle, war, death and pain the Koreans succeeded, and left the planet in a state of hellfire.

Oh ahahaha
Just built the pyramids in 1340 AD because nobody else had bothered to build them till that point. It took 4 turns.
Pfffft, you children and your modern music.
REAL MEN play this game with European march music playing in the background:

I like to conquer other nations and justify it by improving their nations infrastructure and building hospitals and schools. I do more for them than their leader ever did

Have to wait unfortunately, they use a fucking idiotic system where US copies and RoW copies are separate games.
Doesnt steam realize if they put Civ V on sale i would buy the ever loving shit out of this game.

By the way, in Gods and Kings, do you guys know if you can play as a God-King? You know, the effervescent head of state that is revered by all?

I've only played Polynesia once but I remember them being pretty good actually. I think they have embarking from the get go?
Napoleon's strategy is predictable:
1. Befriend people
2. Build up army
3. LOLIMNOTYOURFRIENDDECLAREWAR
4. March in
If I ever share a border with Napoleon I start parking units at it and just shake my head when he wants to be "friends".
So far Theodora and Isabella seem fairly reasonable. They kept warning me of attacks.

Isabella is a bro. She never backstabs you or anything, she just always wants to be your friend.

This expansion is fucking awesome, seriously. Espionage is surprisingly cool.
How do you get so many spies?
Also, never make defensive pacts with everyone in the game.
anybody tried the multiplayer yet?
are the animations working and do turns still take forever to go by?
Oh fuck oh fuck where is activation code?!
I'm holding off from playing playing until I can afford gods and kings. This thread will have to tide me over.
Don't let me down, I need my fix.
Because G&K was 10% off on Amazon, it lowered the price just below how much money I had left, but then I had one of those $10 off coupons that apply to your next purchase, and I was almost disappointed.

Animations work fine, it's just that a lot of players turn them off
Invalid activation key...
