Oh god, I've been playing Civ all day and now I see hexes and nation borders everywhere.

Isabella started denouncing me out of nowhere.
Fuck me, I just checked and I have -40 gold production. Is there a fast way to know on which tiles I can build trading posts on? All my cities are connected, and a lot of them have markets.

I have 200 gold per turn, and I'd have 250 if I wasn't bank rolling Carthage. Basically just look for flat areas you haven't built on yet, and try to cut down on costs, get a small but strong millitary, try to get social policies that cut down on costs or give gold.
Gold is almost always in abundance.. You should just dig in and look at the surroundings in every city, have your workers build accordingly. Always aim for luxury resources when you're settling, too. Depending on how far apart your cities are you can build roads/harbors for the trading bonus. Unless the distance are extreme you'll always break even.
How do you get so many spies?
Also, never make defensive pacts with everyone in the game.
I had all the ones you get from getting to a new era and one from a wonder (National Intelligence Agency)
Really enjoying the fact that with Boudicca's Faith bonuses you are almost always guaranteed to found a religion as the Celts.
I'm still on my save as Egypt, only nation standing is Alexander, and he has two cites, both are puppet cities, and i am currently amassing an army to take out the city-states. with 210 happiness, i'm getting golden ages almost constantly. i have over 100k gold, getting 2400 a turn, and enough nuclear weapons to lay waste to the entire planet. I currently have him blockaded with 2 nuclear subs with 2 missiles on each one, ready to destroy any invasion force, and soon, i will have total word domination.
Still have not played Civ 5. Been stuck on Civ 4 for a while now... I've never been able to win past Noble, so I've been trying to do that. But I'm curious, is Civ 5 worth checking out? It looks so different... and Im afraid of change

There's been some changes in Civ V I'm not keen on and some I'm quite fond of, although for lack of a better word Civ V's diplomacy is pretty much broken and they're supposedly fixing it in G&K, although you have to pay for that.

How is the Diplomacy broken? that sounds pretty major.
I really want to try my hand at creating a very "Imperial" nation heavily focused on militarism and national pride, do you guys have any suggestions regarding social policies and wonders?

Autocracy, Liberty (ironic but it works), Honor and Commerce. But I'd go rationalism too just for the science boost.
As for wonders, Kremlin, Brandenburg Gate, anything that gives a defense/exp boost and then fill in on the rest.

The AI used to be very bi-polar, loving you then hating you the next turn, and predictable because whoever didn't hate you was planning to backstab you.
But the AI has been improved, says Civfanatics. And if civfanatics say that the AI has been improved, you can damn well bet it's been, because they complain about everything.

Be sure to listen to this on loop while you nuke cities and take over the world.
Is there a way to add custom music to the in-game soundtrack?
Eliminated Germany and Greece.
Playing Russia was fun.
Is there a way to add custom music to the in-game soundtrack?
it's just ogg files so it would be simple enough to replace the current music.
you'd have to edit some xml files to actually add new music, though.
How is the Diplomacy broken? that sounds pretty major.
Well Broken could be a strong word for it but the AI's a complete bastard pretty much all of the time with random DOWs and discrediting you.
Lots of retarded peace offers as well.
Well, I started a new Civ V game and not 10 turns into the game did I find Ghandi.

Being rightfully freaked out, and noticing he wasn't expanding yet. I did the only logical thing to do in this situation.

I feel like a doctor discovering super cancer, but then finding out you can cure it by poking it with a stick a couple times.
In my current game I had Ghandi declare war on me complete with the "Yeah I know we're friends but what the hell message"
He's past the stupid demands for all my money for peace. He's got two cities left and is now on the "please dont invade anymore you're so mean :(" stage.
Nice.. You can attack from your city without leaving the garrison.
Just two more days... I can't wait to start spying.
God damn is Pangea a clusterfuck.. I'm surrounded by aggressive assholes and before I can take apart one nation a different one will tag in and send their horde of apachi/chu-ko-nu/pikemen at me.

Whenever I play Pangaea it's always a massive clusterfuck war from the beginning of time
Which is why I don't
Fractal maps are nice.

I'm actually currently playing Ghandi on a continent game. Despite only having three colonies and a handful of city state allies, my nation is going strong because of that passive he has.
Only inherent problem is that while me and the rest of the nations were bickering and fighting with the Aztecs, China invaded their neighbor and became the current in game superpower, with around 8000 gold and 1121 game score (the rest of us are sitting at 500ish).
I feel like some poor, minor power, envily leering at another nations wealth and treasury.
