rip eve online
Some company will probably buy the game and keep it running, 350,000 people paying $15 a month is a lot of money. Hopefully someone cool like Valve.
Yes but they will most likely change it so that it is no longer EVE, rather, some other internet spaceship MMORPG
Yes but they will most likely change it so that it is no longer EVE, rather, some other internet spaceship MMORPG
And lose 349,000 subs. EVE community isn't very forgiving, even for original dev as we can see.
rioting in a video game by shooting at stations YEAH I'LL SHOW CCP WHO'S BOSS BY SHOOTING AT IN-GAME CONSTRUCTS how does that even affect anybody holy shit i'm confused
rioting in a video game by shooting at stations YEAH I'LL SHOW CCP WHO'S BOSS BY SHOOTING AT IN-GAME CONSTRUCTS how does that even affect anybody holy shit i'm confused
Causes a fuckton of lag is what it does
rioting in a video game by shooting at stations YEAH I'LL SHOW CCP WHO'S BOSS BY SHOOTING AT IN-GAME CONSTRUCTS how does that even affect anybody holy shit i'm confused
It makes lag in market places slowing down the economy.
Since eve is now dying, either Infinity needs to hurry da fuck up or Black Prophecy needs to be balanced. (BP is fun it just has the same thing every free-to-play game has and that eve will have: pay-to-win items.) [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] Because those are the only 3 multiplayer space games... [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] that are worth a shit.
Eve isn't dying, its just going though some issues.
Maybe they should just call them 'Transactions'. In other news, if anyone wants to send me a buddy program invite, I'd be happy. I'd like to try the game. PM me (might be a couple days before I respond/activate it, I'm about to go on a small trip. Edit: I got it, thanks guys
$70 for a monocle is perfect. Monocles scream "stupidly rich bastard" so an absurd price makes complete sense. But video game riots are a hilariously cool idea so I support this anyway.

are they still protesting?
It would be cool if they switch it to an F2P with transactions. Not game breaking ones, stuff like hats. :v:
It would be cool if they switch it to an F2P with transactions. Not game breaking ones, stuff like hats. :v:
$14 a month that has to be paid (in one way or another) to play, or microtransactions that may or may not get you much money. Frankly Subscription + Microtransations to supplement income is perfectly fine, its just CCP need to learn the definition of micro.

Only eve has no safty net preventing you from riping the world a new asshole.
you obviously werent doing it right
By doing it right you mean botting.
last time i checked prices and trade are going back to normal  also made some cash by buying stuff while economy was fucked
How'd you know they have it in place? Why would they make such ruckus if they have everything covered?
Why would who make a ruckus? The rioters? Because they're idiots (mostly). CCP? They didn't. [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] And I know because it's common financial sense
Why would who make a ruckus? The rioters? Because they're idiots (mostly). CCP? They didn't. [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] And I know because it's common financial sense
Oh, and CCP didn't expect this to go down this route at all. And if they did, why did Zulu posted another blogpost, apologizing and stuff. Also, if it's common financial sense, why didn't they include MT step by step? Maybe communicating with CSM so there won't be any riots to begin with?
Are we even talking about the same thing? CCP is in "financial trouble". They have a loan to be repaid in oct 2011. They do not have the cash reserves for it. They are not going bankrupt, they are expanding revenues and refinancing. This has nothing to do with the in-game shitstorm, it has to do with the company's financial situation. [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] I even quoted the reddit article you linked to..
Arrangements for refinancing. You said they certainly have them in place, so I wondered, how do you know that. If they had arrangements, why did they take such fast route with situation going ugly fast. Only explanation I have is that they are in dire situation and those arrangements are last resort, if even that? I'm not sure. It's just seems a bit unprofessional to just treat community like that, even more so EVE one, which is known for lots of tears and drama.
Some company will probably buy the game and keep it running, 350,000 people paying $15 a month is a lot of money. Hopefully someone cool like Valve.
Nah. Besides, the dev blog was probably prepared anyway.
