I haven't been able to do it at Sarif HQ but I'm guessing in Hub worlds you can.
Yeah you can do anything to people. After completing one side quest a character called me a piece of shit, so I shot him in the fucking head.

Lol'd. I just tried it for like an hour, holy shit the game is epic. It's a must buy. I ran around the office throwing random stuff at people. And the amount of choices and how every action has consequence, it's freakin' awesome. I like it how the SWAT guys congratulated me that I saved the hostages. Except this one mofo....
Intel e7200 2.53ghz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, GTX 460 1GB. Mid-range, I'd say.

But I enjoy hacking, it's very fun. The autohack grenade things are only useful when it's a target above my level, and while sneaking is fun, hacking costs nothing (unlike DE1 where you lose valuable multitools) so I get to explore every nook and cranny.

Is it just me or does everyone's head seem a tad too small?
oh my god none of those screenies show up
welp
Has anyone discovered cheats yet? I just finished it and want to play around with the augs
I threw a barrel at a guys head and he died. Expected it to only knock him out then some punks slowly maneuvered towards his corpse while I just strolled away.
Excuse my shit graphics/framerate. No spoilers.

Beta guys: When you throw things at allies, do they give you an annoyed comment ("Quit playing around!" "I hope you're joking") like in the first?

From what I've heard, they die.

Usually people die when I throw shit at them.
So i'm doing the first gun blazing root. You really don't need to do guns blazing 2-3 shots will take someone out. I'll re-do it later stealth.
So... How do I fully disable this Stereoscopic 3d crap?
The game is performing perfectly for me. I have everything maxed out (including DX11 turned on) and I always get 60 FPS. I was expecting 30-40 FPS, but it's 60 all the time. Not to mention that the effects are good too.
The stealth is fun and the cover system is good too, you can choose how it should be in the menu(toggle/hold).
When I was watching the hacking videos, I thought that it was going to be like that on PCs (move that thingy around to next point), but in reality, PC beats consoles big time - the faster you can move your mouse, the more chances you have to complete a hack.
The loading screens are a bit too long. I'm pretty sure it loads much faster than I'm supposed to wait, as I never see my HDD read any files, and I still have to wait like 10-15 seconds.
I hate how you can use the numpad to select items as well as the number keys. My mouse has a bunch of side buttons that I use for stuff, but they're considered the numpad keys by the PC, so I can't use them since it just changes my weapon. I hope they change this for the full game.
I also hope that they change the X-axis sensitivity being different than the Y. How could they possibly think that was a good idea.
How does throwing work in it?

those punks should have known better then to mess with me.
Am I the only one getting a weird graphical glitch on an ATI card?

I'm on a 4890 and it's fine for me.
What drivers are you on?
-snip- fuck it it's not a spoiler

I just...hid from him.
Please don't cry and float up and down in a fetal position. :frown:
What drivers are you on?
11.5b Catalyst drivers. The actual card driver is 8.850.6.

I know a lot of people on 4chan were saying that stereoscopic 3d was on by default for them, make sure it's off, in case that's your problem.

Fuck yes the graphical glitch is gone. I was using the beta drivers for Brink.
Anyone getting weird brightness issues, or is the menu supposed to be significantly darker than the game?
Jesus Christ I went onto GameSpot to see what people are saying about the game and it's all a bunch of whiny PC fanboys complaining about how the game is a "console port" and that regen-health is destroying the game.

You are a brave, brave man.

Wow, I thought this kind of discussion would have ceased about 6 months ago?
My thoughts:
Pros:
+ A true successor to the original Deus Ex.
+ Eidos Montreal have really captured the original feel of Deus Ex.
+ Highlighting and objective tracking are not issues at all - no matter how much whining the people, who have not played the game, do on the forums. In fact, I can safely say that even with highlighting on, I still managed to miss out some alternative paths which are well-hidden. I can now say that I will play the full game with both these features ON.
+ Resource management returns, and it is as fun and frustrating as ever.
+ Takedowns are not instant-win buttons.
+ You can crush someone with a refrigerator (video coming soon).
+ The feeling of believing that the path you took was the "correct" path is still there. I watched someone else play and they used completely different means to get to an objective.
Cons:
- Save slot limit of 20 - not sure if this is because this is just a 10 hour demo, but I hope we don't get a cap in the full game.
- [del]No quicksave, but manual saving is very quick.[/del]
- Long load times, of course this is to be tweaked in the last few months leading up to release.
- Some AI hiccups.
- Yes, some textures are low-resolution but it's not an issue for me, personally, because these are small details in the highly-detailed world.
Minor Nitpicking:
- You can't switch weapons if you are aiming down the sight.
- Tapping the number which corresponds to the weapon you are holding will not put it away - so you must use the 'Holster' key (default H).
We are nearly there. Soon we will have the game.

:gonk:
How exactly does manual saving work? And I mean literally what buttons/clicks do you have to do?
Do you just hit escape then click "SAVE GAME" or whatever and then it saves and closes the escape menu?
Or is it long and annoying and not a quicksave substitute?
