I can't seem to get my brightness down, it looks as if there is a slight white glaze over my screen. Anyone have suggestions for what settings I can change? Maybe my graphics card settings?
There is a quicksave feature. Press F5 to save and F8 to load.
:gonk: How exactly does manual saving work? And I mean literally what buttons/clicks do you have to do? Do you just hit escape then click "SAVE GAME" or whatever and then it saves and closes the escape menu? Or is it long and annoying and not a quicksave substitute?
I do beg your pardon, it turns out there is a quicksave feature, but there isn't an apparent way to re-bind the keys:
There is a quicksave feature. Saving takes less than a second.
Wow, I thought this kind of discussion would have ceased about 6 months ago? My thoughts: Pros: + A true successor to the original Deus Ex. + Eidos Montreal have really captured the original feel of Deus Ex. + Highlighting and objective tracking are not issues at all - no matter how much whining the people, who have not played the game, do on the forums. In fact, I can safely say that even with highlighting on, I still managed to miss out some alternative paths which are well-hidden. I can now say that I will play the full game with both these features ON. + Resource management returns, and it is as fun and frustrating as ever. + Takedowns are not instant-win buttons. + You can crush someone with a refrigerator (video coming soon). + The feeling of believing that the path you took was the "correct" path is still there. I watched someone else play and they used completely different means to get to an objective. Cons: - Save slot limit of 20 - not sure if this is because this is just a 10 hour demo, but I hope we don't get a cap in the full game. - No quicksave, but manual saving is very quick. - Long load times, of course this is to be tweaked in the last few months leading up to release. - Some AI hiccups. - Yes, some textures are low-resolution but it's not an issue for me, personally, because these are small details in the highly-detailed world. Minor Nitpicking: - You can't switch weapons if you are aiming down the sight. - Tapping the number which corresponds to the weapon you are holding will not put it away - so you must use the 'Holster' key (default H). We are nearly there. Soon we will have the game.
[editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] I hope they fix the
- Tapping the number which corresponds to the weapon you are holding will not put it away - so you must use the 'Holster' key (default H).
Otherwise, GOTY²
That's so much fun to do. Every time I get to some stairs or a ladder i'm just like
LOLNOPE
vrmmmmmmmmmmm [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] Then I restarted and did another playthrough, forgot I didn't have it anymore and fell 2 stories to my death.
When you die, does it do that slow spin around your corpse with music or no?
Nah it just goes really red and the camera moves to the side as if Jenson just fell over sideways.
I found it to be very oldschool the first time I died.
Anyone wants to give me a walkthrough of the best way to kill Barrett ? I've been really annoyed now.
Just spam explosives at him.
If i had some.
I'm waiting for someone to make a save game right after the pre-augmentation with all the aug's installed. I've already completed it. I'm also wondering if there's actual animations outside cover, so it might be possible to have a third person camera always/togglable.
Does the game REALLY end after you kill Barrett ? I wished for more.
Well it's just a damn preview [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline]
oh my god none of those screenies show up welp
Fucking dropbox, I tried using it from the website but it didn't work, and I don't like copying lots of links from the folder as that is really buggy
Do anybody know what F10 key does exactly.
So... anyone figured out how to give yourself infinite praxis points yet?
Cheat Engine. What I did, is I got 2 praxis points, went to Cheat Engine, set the scan type to "decreased value by - 1", spent one point, scanned, then spent another point and scanned again. It left me 5 addresses, I moved all of them into the address list, alt+tabbed into the game, alt+tabbed out, and took a look at addresses which' values weren't set at 0.
So how long is this "Beta?"
So how long is this "Beta?"
10 hours. I guess that's about a third of the whole game.
Is this thread safe if I don't want spoilers?
So a 30hour singleplayer, with possibility to repeat it few times. Not bad.
Judging by all the positive opinions in this thread I am fucking excited.
anyone wants to post the Praxis cheats ? ( I finished the beta :colbert: )
Hey uh, accidentally turned on stereoscopic 3d and I can't turn it off, any way to change this in out of game settings?
Well this game is pretty great, a day one buy for me.
Opening an interactive stream soon, coding the page! -> www.moarfunz.com/stream I hope xfire supports Deus Ex.

Do a first scan for the amount of xp you have, do something to increase your xp, then scan for that value of xp. Keep doing this till you end up with 2 values, and then change them both to a high number like 200000. Then do something to get XP and BAM 41 praxis points.
Would you happen to have the address for either one of these?
Would you happen to have the address for either one of these?
addresses change, but I could try to look up a pointer for you
Would you happen to have the address for either one of these?
Just follow the instructions, it's easy really.
Are you guys using dummy steam accounts? Or are you using yours.
Try this table, should be for XP http://dl.dropbox.com/u/251301/dxhr5_win7.CT No idea if it'll work like that, but it's worth a try. If it doesn't, just go and try doing it yourself.
Are you guys using dummy steam accounts? Or are you using yours.
No Steam is required, at all.
What about the steam_api.dll?
