I really wish that they would release the leak officially as a demo. I want to try the game out, but I don't want to torrent the leak.
Why? One click on a torrent site and it's downloading exactly the same as any demo would.
Will you not get VAC banned?
Will you not get VAC banned?
why would you
I don't know :frown:
I don't know :frown:
Neither the developers nor the publishers really seem give a shit at this point, and I doubt Valve gives a shit. I don't think you would even need to crack it now. Hell, the developers have literally given advice on what to do in the leak, and the game is getting a ton of publicity from it. I doubt Square or Eidos will have a fit and go around banning everyone. It's still probably a bit risky, but it's not going to get your Steam account banned. that would be silly. [editline] June 3rd, 2011 [/editline] I also love the glitched out Tutorial subtitles that basically just switch between completely random subtitles from the game. It would be pretty spoilerific, but since there's no context, it just ends up being kinda distracting and humorous at the same time.
they made a good GUI: - you can skip intro movies with enter - you can exit any time to desktop by menu or alt+f4 prompt - you can always quick load, even from the main menu with f8 did anyone check the roof of the first weapons dealer? [sp]hidden sniper rifle, credits and pocket secretary in vent. the crowd didn't fire at the police, it was a sniper staging the attack by shooting on both cops and protestors.[/sp]
This game is a true successor to the original. It's just... fucking amazing. I can't describe it. I can't wait to get my hands on the full version.
Eidos are allowing people to comment on their own forums about the leak and what they liked about it, and are even encouraging people to share NON press links and reviews about it It's pretty nice of them, But then again, it's just a glorified demo, that's unfinished, so it's no big deal. They know they have a kickass game on their hands and that it's worth showing off (Often times a game that doesn't have a demo these days means the devs are too afraid of the negative impact it'll have, which says to me, Not a very good product)
Eidos is now my favorite publisher/developer (uhh). First it was the "we accept your opinions, make a thread about it in our forums to let us see it!" then it was tumblr where they answered questions a lot, personalized and now it's their ACCEPTANCE of the leak and people's thoughts on it (in one thread at least, no screenshots and stuff)! fucking amazing. so glad I got the augmented edtion
hah, the dx1 easter eggs inside are great: [sp]sales of lemon lime triple, orange drops by 37% punk girl humming the dx1 theme unatco music manderly's emails, that damn soab[/sp]

Took me a while to discover it was dialogue from the game.
This does make you think, maybe they did leak it on purpose.
IT'S A CONSPIRACY
Even if they did, good on them. A demo does nothing but good if you have a good game, but it does the opposite if it's a bad game, and an Unfinished unpolished buggy leak that's getting more positive marks than most complete full release games is only going to hugely increase interest
Anyone knows Sarif's computer password? I tried the obvious,[sp]Baseball, tigers dtigers[/sp] [editline]3rd June 2011[/editline] Whats cool about deus ex, is unlike some games if you know a password from a previous playthrough you can use it. Some games you can only use passwords once you find them legit.

Even going as far as saying that it equals the original. Got to say, I am honestly very impressed.
I'm loving this game. I love the way you can throw boxes from a roof down to the people below and laugh as they get concerned over the raining boxes.
I really wish that they would release the leak officially as a demo. I want to try the game out, but I don't want to torrent the leak.
since when the fuck was there ever a 12 hour demo

Deus Ex 1 is a masterpiece but it's over ten years old and the only reason anyone would say that it's better is for nostalgia's sake. This game tops it in every way imaginable (except in one-liners).
Why? One click on a torrent site and it's downloading exactly the same as any demo would.
All torrents are so unbelievably slow that it doesn't even make sense to start downloading.

Also, is there any other melee weapon besides your arms/fists? (Been asked a million times I imagine, but I'm still not sure about this)
All torrents are so unbelievably slow that it doesn't even make sense to start downloading.
on good torrents I max out my 20Mb net connection so no
Maybe they're using the leak as a way of beta testing without paying anyone? [editline]4th June 2011[/editline] Or maybe Square Enix's budget ran out so Eidos Montreal couldn't afford beta testers?
They should just release the Sarif Warehouse as a demo and maybe lock you in with certain augs or something.
on good torrents I max out my 20Mb net connection so no
the torrents for the leak top out at around 300kbps though [editline]4th June 2011[/editline] ok fuck it, I'm gonna play through deus ex 1 since I never completed it

At this point does it really matter who leaked it?

I really do think someone has just leaked the press beta. It was a bad idea to let them run it through steam they should've seen this coming.
Any word on if this will run anywhere near as long as Deus Ex? I was surprised with how long Deus Ex lasted me.
Any word on if this will run anywhere near as long as Deus Ex? I was surprised with how long Deus Ex lasted me.
Well its estimated 30 hours for a playthrough. A lot more if you replay and search absolutely everywhere obviously. They've said you can't get everywhere in a single playthrough not to mention there's multiple endings so I think its safe to say yes. Plus I can't stop fucking around in Detroit there is so much damn stuff to do.
Why do the graphics in this game look bad, but at the same time they look good? It's weird.
