Is the end of the leak after you kill [sp]Barret[/sp]? If so, this was a fun leak. Definitely going to pre order it when I have money

Need the song from Jensen's apartment. That song was majorly chilled out.
Damn how does Jenson get all the ladies ;) [editline]5th June 2011[/editline] Ignore the tranq darts
How do you guys pronounce Deus Ex? I say it like "Day-us", but everyone I know says it like "Doose". Also, when I try to tell people about the game, they think its called Day of Sex due to my accent...

I don't even know whose side I'm on. [editline]5th June 2011[/editline] In case anyone didn't know, you can recharge your second, third etc. energy pips - just don't completely use up the pip and it will recharge.

Now you just need to understand how that is pronounced. :psyduck: I'm just about to play through the first Deus Ex for the first time. Any tips?
It is funny how the guy who leaked Deux Ex has been known for leaking one more game in the past.
Caesar is pronounced "Kai-zar" but Caesar's name got anglicized by Shakespeare so it is correct to speak the anglicized "See-Zar"
I discovered this in Fallout: New Vegas. See, games can be educational! [editline]5th June 2011[/editline]
deːʊs ɛk according to wikipedia. And have a look at this pronunciation chart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_English#Key According to the Wikipedia page for 'Deus Ex', the title is pronounced [/ˌdeɪ.əs ˈɛks/ day-əs eks] (day-uss ecks). The Wikipedia page for 'Deus' tells us that the word is pronounced [ˈdeːʊs] (dew-ss).
Caesar is pronounced "Kai-zar" but Caesar's name got anglicized by Shakespeare so it is correct to speak the anglicized "See-Zar"
I thought this was the game's weird version of how to say it. The more you know. :eng101:
I love saying Doose, sounds funny, but yeah I say De-os Sex.
Edit2: Oh shit I found where the neuropozyne(?) thief stashed the drugs in the Sarif building. Go to the helipad service access tunnel and there's a sign pointing to "street level parking". There is an openable vent cover nearby and you can crawl in to a big ventilation shaft. On the bottom there is a pocket secretary and a stash of drugs.
Yeah you can figure that out from a email
How to pronounce Deus Ex is in the original game's casing.
Other fun latin words that everyone always mispronounces: "Veni vedi vici" is NOT pronounced "Veiny Veedi Veechee" it's pronounced "Weiny weedy weak-ee" because in latin the Vs are pronounced Ws and all Cs are hard. [editline]5th June 2011[/editline] Caesar is pronounced "Kai-zar" but Caesar's name got anglicized by Shakespeare so it is correct to speak the anglicized "See-Zar"
yeah i took latin for six years so it's funny when I hear people say "veechee" or "sisseroh" for Cicero instead of "kickurroh." Also, carpe diem doesn't mean "seize the day," it means "pluck the day"; Horace wrote it in a horticultural metaphor.
Eidos is now my favorite publisher/developer (uhh). First it was the "we accept your opinions, make a thread about it in our forums to let us see it!" then it was tumblr where they answered questions a lot, personalized and now it's their ACCEPTANCE of the leak and people's thoughts on it (in one thread at least, no screenshots and stuff)! fucking amazing. so glad I got the augmented edtion
I think it has a lot to do with the fact that: 1. The leak is essntually a demo, since you are missing out on the last 2/3rds of the game 2. It's actually good 3. Preorders probably shot through the roof, and this is generating crazy good press. I don't know why companies do this more often - I would almost suspect that they leaked it themselves. Especially since it's rather timely - about a month after the press reviewed the preview build. And not to mention, the whole thing kinda fits into the DX theme. A leak on the net, requiring you to "hack" your copy of steam and "steal" information to get a sneak peek at something, which in of itself can make you feel pretty bad-ass (if you are new to this sort of thing). If Edios was behind it then that would reek of the conspiracy themes the games have too. It could all be a pretty clever and awesome marketing strategy. But yeah, I don't know why they don't do something like this more often. Have a third of the game avalable to play, and the rest of the game missing and requiring you to purchase to see when it comes out in a month. No one's going to bother leaking the full game in advance when they have a controlled chunk already leaked. It's a great way to get fans and potentual fans far enough into the game to "hook" them, so when the full game comes out it's a garuntee buy. This obviously wouldn't work for really short games, or games that aren't very good. But when it comes to this, it seems like a great way to make everyone happy. People get esentually an extended preview demo way early, and Edios makes a ton of preorders. Reminds me of when the JC2 demo came out and the time limit was hacked. People spent more time in that demo than they did in most other full games and it really got a lot of people to buy into a game series that most would have never touched before (or bother pirating before).
I was a little nervous about this game before the leak, but god damn it's fantastic. Preordered just now.

I assume the worst so I'm thinking that since the leak runs perfectly fluid the full game will have some weirdass fuckup and run worse than the leak :smith:
Does (icarus effect very minor spoiler) [sp]Gunther Hermann[/sp] appear in the leak so far? He played a pretty active role in the book and it would be awesome if he appeared in-game too. A simple yes or no would do - I don't want the game itself spoiled for me, just curious to know.
Yeah, it really annoys me when people play that game and go "LOL WTF OBSIDIAN YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET THE VOICE ACTORS TO PRONOUNCE CAESAR RIGHT LOL FAAAAIL"
what bothers me is that half of them say seezer and the other half says kaizar and im sitting here just going what
I like how the guards in the leak seem to coordinate with each other. For example, if one guard spots you, and the others don't he'll ask them if they saw anything, they'll say no, and he'll say that he's going off to investigate. It's a shame that they guards don't come looking when their allies disappear though.

It would be impossible for the rest of the game to be bad.

As for them not investigating, I figure if you've been stealthy so far they'd have no reason to suspect anything and would just assume he's gone off for a piss or something to that effect.
All of which gets blamed on it being a leak, making people look at the game far more optimistically than if it had been an official demo.
Don't know about you guys, the game runs perfectly fine for me. Those motherfuckers are good at searching, I tell you what.
Very tempted to Dl the leak, but i fear ill spoil much of the fun when its released. So many choices. I never asked for this
what bothers me is that half of them say seezer and the other half says kaizar and im sitting here just going what
Only legionairres say Kai-zar. Rest don't care or afraid.
How to pronounce Deus Ex is in the original game's casing.
that explains why I spent years pronouncing it 'doos ex', I had the shitty budget rerelease with no documentation
