Ok this is fucking hard, I'm in the police station and this is fucking redicolous, how do I enter that office where there's a guard inside and a guy talking over the phone?
Open the door, concussion grenade, close the door.
Then you go in for the kill.

Heh heh.
whats Sarif's password? or did you hack the computer?
Skullgun? Has it been made?
This game reminds me of Fallout 3 and such, where we can fool around doing whatever we want :v:

Level 2 hacking
FFFUUU, this is what I get for never paying attention in the first Deus Ex games.
whats Sarif's password? or did you hack the computer?
Hacked. Wasn't too hard.
First mail is something about a biotech CEO offering help at these "difficult times". Not too interesting.
Second mail is this:
Sounds fucking retarded to be honest, in what mind does someone need to be to kill Megan's mom after what she went through already.
She is sleeping in my bed. In other news I am killing everyone in the free roam section and moving them to the police station!
:siren: EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO MAX OUT THEIR AUGMENTATIONS AND SEE HOW THE GAME PLAYS, READ THIS: :siren:
First of all, get Cheat Engine. You can get it here: http://www.cheatengine.org/downloads.php
Then, make sure you have at least 2 praxis. Then, open dxhr.exe process in Cheat Engine and scan it the following way:
Value: <Amount of praxis points you have>.
Scan type: Exact value.
Value type: 4 Bytes.
Once it finishes, you should get a shitload of various addresses, don't panic. What you do, is you alt+tab back into the game, and spend ONE praxi (or however it's spelled) point, and alt+tab back to Cheat Engine.
Now, set scan mode to "Decreased value by" and set the value to 1. Press "Next Scan".
Alt+tab back into the game and spend another point. Alt+tab back into Cheat Engine, and press "Next Scan" again. You now should have a few addresses left (I had 5 addresses).
What you do now, is you select all the addresses that are left, and press this button:

Now alt+tab back into the game, walk around a bit, move your view a bit (a few seconds is enough, and by a few seconds I mean 3-5 secs).
After that, alt+tab back into Cheat Engine, and take a look at addresses in the address list which' values have changed. Delete the addresses which' values have changed (their value might be random numbers, such as 84653652, etc.). Now, there should be 2 addresses left which' values are ZERO (if there are more than two addresses, alt+tab back into the game, walk around and move your view around again). select both of them, right-click -> Change Record -> Value, and set it to any value you wish.
Now, alt+tab back into the game and re-open the augmentation screen.
If you did everything right, congratulations - you now have the amount of praxies you specified in Cheat Engine!
Hope this tutorial was useful.
Has anyone else figured out how to do ammo/hypotism/energy jars?
Could someone write a brief walkthrough of how to break into the police station? I just keep on dying.
Use the same method? Pick up some ammo, see what changes, pick up some more ammo, see what changes, etc.
But the value types are different with each item I believe
Will try that. Thanks.
How do you guys pronounce Deus Ex? I say it like "Day-us", but everyone I know says it like "Doose".
Also, when I try to tell people about the game, they think its called Day of Sex due to my accent...
The "Day o' Sex" phenomenon seems to be pretty common, happened to me as well...
The "Day o' Sex" phenomenon seems to be pretty common, happened to me as well...
I have a small pause between the two parts to avoid that. It works too.
Day-us *small pauze* ex
Works for me :D

I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to be said.
I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to be said.
It's Latin so it would be pronounced Day-us Ex.
I heard some guy doing an interview with EM pronounce it day-use ecks and I cringed so bad.
Dammit why is the city so confusing. So many dead ends.
That guy with the soundtrack put some more up.
I think it has some from the later levels in it :smug:

Fucking media tags wont work.
I found the gun dealer that sells the suppressor, but seeing as I went on a killing spree, he and his bodyguard were alert with weapons raised, and refused to interact with me. He did not survive.
I heard some guy doing an interview with EM pronounce it day-use ecks and I cringed so bad.
tbh I thought it would be something like dey-oos with the d sounding nearly like a th, sounds more latiny
Question: If you drop something from your inventory, like a snack. Will all the guards in the area immediately go "What was that?" and draw their guns?
Found the Jensen apartment music.

(sorry if late)
dee-us ex :(
I kinda prefer the stealth in the original Deus Ex. At least then the enemies had the eyesight of blind moles, which made sneaking around easier. Also you could let one person get a glimpse of you without all hell breaking loose, which seems to be the case here.

Don't know about you, but I played through it easily without alerting anyone.

I guess I need to get used to just sneaking past people instead of knocking out/killing EVERYONE
