Is it just me or do Jenson and Simons have similar voices?
[sp] Does this mean the grit voice runs in the family and Paul's just some abnormal retard clone because he doesn't have the voice? I guess that's why Page was disappointed in him. [/sp]
[sp]Paul and JC both have the same voice actor.[/sp] :v:

[sp] I know. Paul still refuses to do the grit, thus he's defective. [/sp]

found this on SA, don't know if it's a shop.
Just completed it for the second time now. Went through with a stungun rather than the tranquilizer gun, and it was much more fun than my first playthrough.
I want to start a new one tomorrow playing a character that runs through and kills everything.
So many black bars... Ill guess ill stay away from this thread until august.

Don't worry, we'll stop using the bars if you want! :downs:
Creating a Deus Ex "remix", it's very WIP;
Exactly. This is why I don't feel like I ruined it for myself plot-wise. I figured most of it out just from what they told us before.
Reading Icarus Effect pretty much primes you for whats going on in the overarching story, though Icarus Effect doesn't get deep into Sarif or Adam's own personal story.

You don't even know what [sp]the Illuminati's end goal is. Nor do you know where they or Lebedev's force stand power-wise. The only thing the book confirms is the Illuminati's presence and their stance on augs.[/sp]

They went over his character well in the book I don't think they could've done much more in the game.
One thing that confuses me is if JC is a more updated version of Adam, how come he has almost none of his incredible augmentations?
One thing that confuses me is if JC is a more updated version of Adam, how come he has almost none of his incredible augmentations?
continuity got fucked up
One thing that confuses me is if JC is a more updated version of Adam, how come he has almost none of his incredible augmentations?
What specifically?
JC can do generally everything Adam can do. I'd say the typhoon is really all Adam has over JC.
Yeah, looking at the trailers he seems to come up later, at least that's what the CG trailers seem to suggest (but that might be before the story was finalized or something) [sp] Perhaps he didn't die? This is a time of brilliant technology after all...[/sp]
Well they said in the old warehouse demo they said that wasn't how it would really end.
the guy at the front desk in the station just bitches on and on, felt good when i came in with my shotgun and shot him right in the face
also i haven't been able to save [sp] Josie from Sanders [/sp], i went through it twice and the first time i said 2 lines and well she didn't make it, the second time i got pretty far but messed up and once again she didn't make it
i feel bad enough when i have to see the SWAT guys trying to resuscitate her, but then everyone keeps saying it's my fault that she died :saddowns:
[editline]8th June 2011[/editline]
also about Barrett..
[sp] there was nothing but a pool of blood left after the grenades went off which either means that the devs were lazy and didn't bother to spew blood and body bits everywhere, or he somehow escaped
then again, maybe that part won't even be in the final game, maybe it was something meant for later in the game and was taken out or something i dunno [/sp]
oh spekter answered it
Nano-tech is all covert and hidden and non-obvious. Allows people to be all secret agent and shit and nobody knows they're augmented.
Every single person you see in DX3 takes one look at Adam and knows he's an aug. He can do more flashy stuff with his mechanical arms and stuff, but he's not infiltrating any anti-augmentation gangs any time soon.
Nano-tech was the one-up to biomech. However, you could still tell a nano-augmented guy from a normal person, but like you said, it was more subtle. You could cover up the odd looking markings of a nano-aug, tech is permanent and doing any changes requires a buttload of work. Still need to read Icarus Effect to find out why Hermann is so fucked up looking.

Adam seems technologically superior than JC. Then again, it's probably due to the technology limitations when the first game was made.
The game comes Aug. 2011

My best guess is that nano augmentation was superior, but at the time was the absolute bleeding edge. In human revolution mechanical augs have existed for a while and thus many more modifications have been created, whereas in the original nanotech was so secret that there weren't many people working on creating nano augs. Plus continuity issues stemming from the fact that the dev team ended up making human revolution more high tech looking than the original.

Which really bothers me considering how Gunther and Anna were originally top of the line. Yet in Deus EX you see two shoddy broken down Terminators.
I mean I'd actually want to see if they'll attempt to remake Deus EX with today's graphics. Or give reasons why Anna and Gunther are so heavily augmented (and badly).

Before JC, Gunther and Anna were indeed the top of the line. When nano-augmentation became more mainstream and used, they and other bio-mechs became worried they would be outphased and no-longer needed since bio-mechs were hard to maintain, harder to replace when parts fail or when new parts come out. It was a mess. And furthermore, they couldn't really go back into the public when heavily augmented, such as Jensen's case. While he looks mostly human thanks to the subtle marks on his face and the sunglasses hiding his odd eyes, as soon as you see him in combat, you'll change your mind quick. And anyone interacting with Jensen realizes he isn't totally human.
I assume Gunter and Anna used to be two top dogs that worked together often, with Gunther being the unstoppable force and Anna being someone who enjoys a good slaughter when no one sees her coming, which is noted by their personalities and how much Gunther whines for Anna [sp] after she dies[/sp]. Or maybe they were two of the same kind looking out for each other. So yes, they were originally top of the line, but technological advances eventually made them obsolete. Also, I believe they describe why Gunther is so fucked up in Icarus Effect, though unsure about Anna.
Forgive me if this has been said before but is there a way to fix the gamma correction in the beta? Everything looks washed over with a tint of grey.

(icarus effect spoilers)
[sp]The book pretty much outlines their end goal. They want to control the global traffic of augmentations so only the rich and elite can carry them, while the world population doesn't have any kind of access to aug technology. As a more powerful "plebian", or one that views itself as more powerful, is less easier to control on a global scale.
The end goal is the New World Order, which is for the Illuminati to rule with an invisible hand over the entire world, keeping the elite and rich in power forever through any means.[/sp]
One thing that confuses me is if JC is a more updated version of Adam, how come he has almost none of his incredible augmentations?
The point of Nano augmentation (what JC has) was that it essentially works like Mechanical augs, except you can't see them and/or they don't require stuff like nyprozine, maintainence, etc in order to use. Sure you miss out on the flashy stuff like arm blades but a lot of the backbone stuff is now seamless integrated into the body.
Basically it's not really improved in a hard way per say, but simplified and made smaller, much like how mobile technology has evolved.

IMO it sounds like what they might do for a sequel to this game (if one is made, which I am pretty sure will be done) is that it'll probably either be like MGS Peace Walker (take place between the events of HR and DX1) or be a parellell story during the time of DX1, except we play as Jensen
I swear to god. This game. THIS FUCKING GAME.
This is the RPG I have been waiting for, the story, the gameplay, everything about it just makes me choke up. It's just so perfect, and it's gonna be even more perfect at launch. :unsmith: :crying:
I didn't even know there was a 'slower crouch' option. I was wondering why I moved so fast while crouching :v:
Is there a large leap in quality from direct x 10 to 11? I'm only running it on 10 and it looks pretty bad.
The art design is great but everything from the shadows to the ambient occlusion is extremely low res.

DX11 isn't implemented properly in the leak.
Also, not all the graphical features are included either. Even if you have everything maxed, the game doesn't include the necessary data to actually max the settings.
