Modern Warfare 3 won't win any awards. The last CoD game to win awards at all really was Modern Warfare 1. GOTY this year will definitely be split between sites, I'm guessing between Skyrim and something else, possibly this.
God what if they added sex scene with Barrett
I'm replaying the first Deus Ex before this comes out. Its such a good game.

I'm going to wait until closer to release so the story is fresh in my mind.
Unfortunately I doubt most gamers will even touch this game or even play it right.
Better that way. Only the people who actually enjoy a game like this will play it and it wont turn mainstream.
/hipster
Also, tried to play DX1 yesterday again. Now in the PC instead of the laptop.
So much more enjoyable. Didn't play much because I was tired and whatnot, but I think I can see myself going through the whole thing now.
And I kind of like the dialogs. Their entertaining in a funny way.
I've been playing alot of Deus Sex lately and i've noticed this ;
I came back home today from an eventful day and sat down on my couch and got my iPad 2 and opened the Newspaper App and started reading it while smoking and realized I was Jensen all along.
Did you ask for that?
pre ordered
fuuuuuuck yes, can't wait
Its balanced. If you could melee takedown everyone you would be unstoppable.
I kind of wish stealth takedowns were free atleast.
But then you could stealth takedown everyone, that's the point
There's no real difference between lethal and nonlethal takedowns except with nonlethal you gotta hide the body which takes like 5 seconds at most
I kind of wish stealth takedowns were free atleast.
If anything, the lethal takedowns should be free, since you get less XP for killing people than for knocking them out, so with free nonlethal takedowns you would basically have tons of XP for free
And it would make sense, since it takes more energy to knock someone out with a single punch than to kill someone with a blade
I don't really see the balance problem, how is using infinite stealth takedowns different from infinite ammo tranquilizer gun?
Unfortunately I doubt most gamers will even touch this game or even play it right.
So true, fortunately we are not "most gamers", we've got an acquired taste in video games and don't munch generic crap all day.

Using a distance weapon requires timing, steady aim and ammunition. Pressing a melee button should at least chew up one energy cell to balance it out, being so easy.
We're not most gamers, we are the elite with an acquired taste in video games. Let others munch their generic crap all day whilst we enjoy DX.
indeed
The thing is, Edios have to cater to the larger audience. They need to make profit, the company can't go on with a small cadre of supporting fans, they need more and that means their game will inevitably have to cater to the larger market while still trying to maintain our support.
The melee system is really well designed actually, I just wish you had something more conventional for the sole purpose of breaking things in the environment without using ammo.

Not really acquired. We're just not afraid to put time into it and enjoy the depth. "Most" just want something on the fly.

I want my Prod and Crowbar back. :saddowns:

You get a Tazer and a blade instead.
Do we have any word on whether or not the final game will have a terminal/console, sdk, and other fun things for us spoiled pc gamers?
I miss breaking crates though and getting random drops, though it makes no sense that crates with ammo are always around.
Are there melee weapons in DEHR? I didn't see any in the Press Release...
Are there melee weapons in DEHR? I didn't see any in the Press Release...
There are not. There are short-range weapons, but they all use ammo. For your melee attacks, you use special "takedown" moves, which are flashy and fun to watch, but drain your bioelectric energy.
The tranq gun didn't have infinite ammo
Damn near might as well be. I found ammo EVERYWHERE.
I found practically zero ammo for the tranq rifle. I had maybe 3 shots to use per mission.

Every damn locker I opened had that shit in, annoyed the crap out of me.
Haha oh wow I wish I had that much ammo. Although it made me find the joys of doing pacifist run where I wouldn't touch an enemy and just stealth and hack my way through the level.
That's the way you get the most xp and level up real fast. I try to knock out most of the enemies so I get the special bonus.
Us pacifists are intentionally gimped by the developers :frown:

How big is the ghost bonus?
Like 300 points, and you can get that by tranqing enemies anyway. I don't want to do even that. My goal is to go through the game without even getting a guard into "alerted" state.
Granted, I don't need the levels as much as other builds might, only a couple stealth augs.
