So uh... from the leak, would you guys be able to say this is a worthy sequel to Deus Ex? I'm deliberately avoiding too much information about this game, I might even have to build a new PC to play it.
what are your specs? I only see you're still on XP.
The only thing I hate is that if you let go of the cover button, you'll sometimes be far off from the cover and the enemy will spot you. Is there an infinite energy mod yet?
I just saw the new trailer on the website, and I'm so pumped now to see what Panchaea actually is. And its not a power plant, they wouldn't make something that epic and have it be a fucking power plant. Oh, and there's a huge problem when they associate aufmentation with evolution, augmentations don't carry over into the next generation, so its not actually human controlled evolution. Unless they augment babies. Which we saw in a teaser. What the fuck.

What man could become and essentially the god we create with our own hands.
the prebuild actually implies that they did something [sp]to Adam before he was born. either that or evolution caused him not to reject augmentations.[/sp] edited: [sp]he has unique dna[/sp]
http://www.deusex.com/preorder The AUD, Remote Explosives, Silenced sniper, double barrel shotgun and grenade launcher are all retailer specific preorder exclusives. Amazon for the shotgun and sniper, gamestop for AUD, grenade launcher and remote explosives. Unless you live outside the US, where Amazon and most retailers get the AUD, grenade launcher and remote explosives, but practically nowhere sells the shotgun and sniper.
http://www.deusex.com/preorder The AUD, Remote Explosives, Silenced sniper, double barrel shotgun and grenade launcher are all retailer specific preorder exclusives.
You get different packs depending on who you order from. Doesn't mean they're not going to show up later in game which has been implied before.
I know they have to put it in the game to make it realistic, and ironically so, and it helps to create discussion about the game, but the characters that are constantly talking about God and shit is really fucking anoying. You'd think at the point where we can replace limbs with fucking machines we'd have abolished religion for 10 years. But I guess the conflict that the game tries to convey wouldn't be there anymore without offended hardcore nutjob "naturalists", would it? [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] Also, what am I gonna get ingame for preordering from steam?
Definitely worthy. In some ways, dare I say, it's better. Combat is more fun and it's easier to get started on, but I dislike the condensation of skills and augs, and some of the augs themselves aren't as good. Not good meaning effective, or useful, but good meaning utilities. In DX1, the augs supplemented your existing abilities for the most part, the augs in DX3 give you entirely new abilities.

its gameplay is the exact same as Deus Ex just improved, it's the best sequel anyone could have hoped for
okay, sweet thanks [editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
what are your specs? I only see you're still on XP.
Yeah. I'm a little tight on cash right now, I'd love to get Windows 7 but it's expensive, and I think I should upgrade the whole thing properly while I'm at it anyway [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] It's not a crappy computer (can run crysis on high, just about) but it's old and on its way out
Just bought the augmented edition from bol.com Can't wait! :D Was thinking about getting the Collector's edition at first, but the only extra thing was an Adam Jensen action figure (that looked kinda cheap from the picture).
okay, sweet thanks [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] Yeah. I don't want to give in to the temptation that the game's topic obviously creates, but since Turnips5 turnipped up right now, and if I'm not mistaken he was a religious believer a while back but is now atheist. What do you think about Human Augmentation, or more specifically, the notion that it disturbs some natural order? I don't want to start a fight btw, I just want to know what people think about it, because I can quite well imagine someone who'd be offended by the game itself.
Also, what am I gonna get ingame for preordering from steam?
Nothing, I think. Depends on what version you bought, maybe.
Windows 7 is like a houndred bucks, its not that much for the best OS out now is it? And it comes with most prebuilt PCs nowadays anyways. [editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
Nothing, I think. Depends on what version you bought, maybe.
I didn't buy any yet, thats why I'm asking.
If someone doesn't want to get augmented that's their choice and I can respect that but trying to ban it or something is retarded especially since 90% of their arguments are "it's unnatural" which doesn't even make sense
I played Deus Ex the other day and I think I'm starting to love it.
I really enjoyed the leak, so I'm definitely getting this. g2play.com has a pretty good deal, where you can get the game for 35 euro's + metro 2033 for an extra 6 bucks or something. All together it's cheaper than on steam, and you even get two games.
Can you activate serial?
I don't want to give in to the temptation that the game's topic obviously creates, but since Turnips5 turnipped up right now, and if I'm not mistaken he was a religious believer a while back but is now atheist. In europe... maybe.
Can you activate serial?
You mean if you can activate the key on steam? Yes.

Religion is pretty heavily ingrained in culture, and it'll take a while for it to go away.

I hope they also refuse medicine and go live in the Savannah hunting animals for food if they wanna keep with the natural order.

And since when whatever humans invented weren't used in conflicts and destruction?

I hope they also refuse medicine and go live in the Savannah hunting animals for food if they wanna keep with the natural order.
"you lost your leg in a car accident because god wills it! you're a horrible person, but also a sinner... repent!" [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] they simply won't allow you to make your own decisions. I like the name LIMB however, great acronym.
Hello there :v: I was indeed a catholic quite a long time ago, my views have changed radically since then. I'm all for human augmentation if it helps people, and furthermore I realised that any idea of "natural order" is completely meaningless - natural doesn't imply good. I'm trying to imagine how a past me would react to this game. Probably roughly the same as present me, but I guess it didn't really occur to me back then. I was anti-abortion, so I guess I believed in some kind of natural order.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was still religion in 2027, considering the fact that it's only 16 years from now. Religion is pretty heavily ingrained in culture, and it'll take a while for it to go away.
Religion has declined like crazy in the last 2000 years, and in most European countries, its almost gone. Officially its still there, but the majority of the population, especially in scandinavian countries, is atheist. So it seems likely that sooner or later, Religion will just vanish. [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] The thing with "natural" and "unnatural" is that everything that exists is inherently natural, there is nothing unnatural. And if there were, it'd be god.
The thing with "natural" and "unnatural" is that everything that exists is inherently natural, there is nothing unnatural.
Exactly this.
I don't think it's just religion. If you look at it, evolution is a balance between species, the never ending race ...and controlled evolution is like impulse 101 :v:
Its not evolution, it doesn't carry over to the next generation. Evolution is a slow process over many many generations, augmentation is a temporary improvement. Its not controlled evolution unless they modify the reproductive genes, and that would only affect your children, so what Deus Ex 3 portrays is temporary improvement of body functions through electronics. [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] The whole unnatural thing is also often used in the "Gays are evil and sinners and shit" discussion, which quite frankly I'm reminded of when I think of Augmentation, the argumentation is just as dumb, and just as naive. Kinda like when your grandma tells you mcdonals food is evil because its full of "chemistry". [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] Not that I'm encouraging eating at McDonalds.
Kinda like when your grandma tells you mcdonals food is evil because its full of "chemistry".
when your very own body is (bio)chemistry at it's finest. also evolution or not... it's called augmentation for a reason as it improves something pre-existent which is primitive compared to what it would be capable of.
