Or just throw a fucking barrel.
but if you're trying to remain undetected during the DRB weapon cache mission that will result in instant detection.
gonna preorder this next month, with halo anniversary, gonna get this on PC obviously.
Hey guys. I want to try out the first Deus Ex again and try to get into it this time. Does anyone know how I can get it running on windows 7? The first Deus Ex game I played was invisible war on the xbox and it's one of my all time favorite games. I know that people talk crap about the 2nd one and recommend the first one instead. So a few years ago I bought this copy for my XP machine and I got bored on the first level. I'd like to give it another try now that Revolution is coming out (and the Beta was amazing)
This is one of the best games this year and it definitely feels like a Deus Ex game bloody love it, will probably do a madman run through right when I have finished this one

If I run it in windows xp service pack 3 I can get it to launch but the main menu is black.

Ruined by the fact that is isn't pronounced that way.
I always say, "deus" differently every time.
Or just throw a fucking barrel.
Suddenly, the game is donkey kong
I always say, "deus" differently every time.
I pronounce the game "dew sex" mentally.

Not Jensen?
I'm not saying you shouldn't use mind, I'm just saying it's unnatural if it's engineered by humans. You're missing a point, I'm not saying it's bad or good, I'm just trying to define what's natural and what's not. Obviously you could consider everything natural since it all comes from our planet, but then what's the point of 'unnatural' word? Tampering with natural order sure is causality of nature, but if you look at it, entire species are extinct because of nature and natural selection. So it really is just defining anything that's done by nature is natural and everything else unnatural. I'd say they are half-augmentations. They help you gain back lost functionality but not improve beyond what you could do. That Sarif Industries site has a good trailer. Those don't look like simple screws :v: Where did I say human are unnatural? Reproductive system wasn't made by humans so using it is perfectly fine. I don't get your point. No need to jump to conclusions, I'm pretty open minded to everything and have multitude of beliefs. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline]
Humans are a part of nature, therefore every actions humans perform is also natural. Since oyu said human intervention has unnatural effect, I assumed you saw humans as unnatural. The word "unnatural" is pretty stupid to begin with, since it doesn't define anything in the real world, but can be used to describe supernatural, or unnatural beings. Which are not real. But that's not the point. Humans are nothing else than another race in nature's evolutionary competition, we are only different from animals in the way that our intellect is superior to all of them, that doesn't make us unnatural. Maybe you would have a point if huge global changes like global warming and extinctions wouldn't happen without humans, but they do, maybe they are not the result of one species' specific actions, but the ecosystems of animals change without human intervention as well as with. Unnatural is a word made up to demonize things like homosexuality or transhumanism, it doesn't make any sense in the context of our reality.

Uh, guys, I don't know if you forgot because the game's just that immersive But this isn't actually a real-life issue... Take it to a transhumanism thread.
We know, but the game does a masterful job of stirring up the temptation to talk to people about it. If you want gameplay tips instead, ask away mate.
Anyway, I read the latest comic book issue and it was quite a nice read. That damn thing ends with a cliffhanger! Next and last part will be called: Daemonicus Ex
I was playing that first Sarif infiltration mission and I tried to carry around a turret to use it against enemies. Well as I ran in front of it to call two guys to the turret's attention when it just started shooting me, then they started shooting me, and then I just fucking threw the turret at everyone in a panicked frenzy. :byodood:
Hack the turret to target "enemies only" before picking it up :v:
Figured that out on my third run through. :smugdog:
I don't know how you can do that on the first mission. You can't earn enough XP to buy any Praxis points, so the only one available is that one that you can pick up right in front of the turret part. To use turrets to kill people you need to upgrade both hacking and strength.

does anyone have the comic comparing the stealth in deus ex 1 to human revolution?
Personally the stealth in DX:HR is much better than in DX1. Instead of constant crouching, you're actually taking cover and moving with the cover. It feels more immersible.
http://www.deusex.com/preorder The AUD, Remote Explosives, Silenced sniper, double barrel shotgun and grenade launcher are all retailer specific preorder exclusives. Amazon for the shotgun and sniper, gamestop for AUD, grenade launcher and remote explosives. Unless you live outside the US, where Amazon and most retailers get the AUD, grenade launcher and remote explosives, but practically nowhere sells the shotgun and sniper.
All useless because I will be playing non-lethal.
