The game is still a walk in the park even on hard.

Icarus Effect worth reading?
But if I'm bad at aiming, wouldn't that make Hard even harder?
Nope, aim isn't as important as it is on realistic.

I must be the only one who actually finds tougher difficulties to be a challenge. So lonely 'round here. :smith:

You'd...actually have to aim, more so since enemies are harder to kill in Hard. Ugh, forget this.

Nope, you have more time to aim because it isn't as easy to die, though the enemies will take more damage to kill.
Anybody else have takedowns with bad framerate even though fraps shows the fps is 60? I have a critical eye for bad framerate, I admit, but stil... It should be a lot smoother (like in the trailers)
This game looks amazing, but the first deus-ex did NOT hold up. I tried playing it for the first time in 2009, and it was terrible. I don't know why everybody creams their pants over the original. Deserved it's praise back then probably, but now it's overrated.
Disagree, played it a couple of month's back and the gameplay is still better tha any hybrid shooter/rpg today...

Bioshock had that problem, where the framerate for animations is really low.

This gives me a warm fuzzy feeling
When that part happened in the first DX, is about when I got hooked and started to get really surprised at the level of detail the game had in your actions and making the world seem more real.
I mean, no game since DX1 or before it ever really bothered to put significance on you entering women's bathrooms, or doing all sorts of silly things that IRL would get people to reprimand or look different at you for.
I would rather have that than be forced to make a choice between two augs - besides, it's not like you can have them all.
But the whole point of the augmentation system was that you had to make hard decisions. You want to have an aggressive defense system and a spy drone? Tough, choose one or the other. You're forced to specialize through your augmentations, as they represent physical alterations that aren't intercompatible. DX:HR's implementation is nothing more than a skill tree.

You still have to make hard choices. Sure it's essentually a skill tree but you don't come along the points fast enough to unlock everything in one play through apparently.
Certain skills need 2 points to unlock, other (more minor skills) need 1 point, and many skills when you first get them aren't good enough on their own - you need to upgrade them to get them to a truely bad-ass level. And even then, if you neglect to spend your skill points on increasing your battery reserves you'll severely deficient on your ability to use them.
Such as, you can choose to get stealth from the get go, but it's expensive, doesn't last a while, and means you don't get other essential augmentations. Right off. I hear from some previewers that by the end of the preview build, they had earned a totally of maybe... 10-15 skill points in which to spend on skills, which isn't a ton considering it is a large part of the game.
It's probably going to end up playing out like Witcher 2, where you can buy skills from a tree but unless you specialize in a specific tree you'll never completely fill up a an entire skill tree for a certain playstyle by the end of the game.

Yeah but bioshock just had horrible animations. Here it is some knid of technical problem I think, because the takedown animations are a lot smoother in trailers.

The issue, really, is that you never have to invest. You can put a couple of points into stealth augs, then decide you really don't want that and put a few points into strength augs and start punching people through walls. This means that you're never committed to a specific build, and you never have to decide 'Do I want this aug, or this one?' because you can just get one now and then get the next when you level up again.
In the original game, once you'd picked an aug to install, it was permanent, and because most installation slots supported two augs, one would become 'off-limits'. So you couldn't make a character who could sprint around at 20mph AND do it completely silently, nor could you use a spy drone to check around corners AND have an aggressive defense drone to take out missiles. You had to pick just one, and stick with it.
But really the biggest thing is that a level up -> skill points system for handling mechanical augmentation is just so downright weak and unoriginal.
I really want the OST for Human Revolution, It just keeps getting better and better with every Trailer.
Oh boy am I excited for this.

where did you watch trailers in 60fps
most streaming videos are like 20-30fps

Not to mention that the hidden augs really promoted exploration.
Guys, maybe they leaked it on purpose... :tinfoil:
it's a conspiracy to make us buy the game
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
They wouldn't have made all the cutscenes and a number of the textures lower res then.
well duh that's just to make us THINK that they didn't leak it on purpose
Not to mention that the hidden augs really promoted exploration.
There are hidden Praxis points too, and the hidden augs were usually doubles, so you could upgrade an existing aug or replace it with the alternative.

On /v/? Riiiiiiight.
So, wait, it's not bannable to admit to having downloaded the leak?

Piracy And Leaks
You won't banned for warez/leaks unless:
• You provide links
• You ask for links
• You hint at where to download
• You openly declare or brag about it
Posting screenshots/videos of pirated/leaked content is fine.
well /v/ is probably the best place to go.
it's anonymous and no questions asked
Never said I did :)
you said you wished the game was in smoother FPS like in the trailers.
how is 30fps smoother than 60fps
I didn't say that either...
I said the takedown animations, ONLY the takedown animations, have a bad framerate. The whole game however runs smooth as hell on 60 fps. That's the weird thing... My framerate is constantly 60 fps but the takedowns are not smooth at all...
I said the takedowns in the game have worse framerate than in the trailers, so something must be wrong technically.

I can see why Eidos went with this. Realize the original augment canisters weren't always obvious and in the open. Some took some exploring or information hunts to unlock that damn door. You could be gimped later in the game because your augs are only level 2 (Some people get impatient, though if you're playing DE and you're impatient, I suggest you find another game..). Here, you're guarenteed upgrades without having to go on a witchhunt for them.
I'm fine either way.
Goddamn Praxis points. I keep trying to save enough for the social aug, but whenever I get two the high-level hack requirements increase and I have to invest in hacking or something else that's needed right at the moment
At least my cloak is at max level, but I still don't have silent running or anything HNNNGH
Does anyone mind if I post my experience about an apartment building I went into? (Spoilers omitted of course)
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
I promise it's awesome.
Oh I've had lots of fun in apartment buildings.
Also it's fucking frustrating when you're down to one energy block and all your nonlethal guns are out of ammo, so you can only cloak for five seconds (don't have candy bars) and use a nonlethal takedown on one guy every two minutes. There isn't enough tranq ammo but every gangbanger has a 10mm pistol, fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
So leak-players, how's the performence? is it working great? report in please.
It performs worse than it should and has some stutter for me, but nothing phenomenally bad and I expect it to be improved.
Usually 40-50FPS for me, dx9 max settings, AA on at 1920x1080. A UE3 game with same level graphics should run at over 100FPS, so there's plenty of room for optimization.
What PC you have?
post screenshots plz
