Not unlock, adapt to them.
Augmentation 101 :science:
I thought that they unlocked over time or you could unlock them manually, because [sp]Adam had some serious damage done to him, so having them all unlocked would harm him.[/sp]

That is actually [sp]said somewhere in the leak. You seem to have ALL augs already installed, this is why you use training kits. You are basically fully upgraded from the beginning of the game.[/sp]

Buying them with experience is the equivalent to "Allowing them to unlock over time" while using praxis kits is unlocking them manually.

No, they did not activate all of them at the beginning [sp]because his brain could not have coped with 'em due to massive head trauma from the bullet so he needs to adapt to them and start them after he gets used to it, or he can use the Praxis Kits to do something that I forgot at the moment to forcefully adapt the body or something bad memory is bad am watching Old Doctor Who so eh :c[/sp]
Welp, I merged with Helios.
Did I do good?[sp] I think I made the right choise, because Tong's idea was just absurd, but I didn't want the Illuminati to have an unfair reach over people and how they live their lives.[/sp]
Helios sounded the most rational decision.
tong ending best ending

Helios sounds just as bad as what Bob Page did, only now you're merged instead of him. You've got full control and powers and god knows what Denton can do in the future with such things. An overload of power can corrupt anyone therefore it must be destroyed so that noone gets it.

But JC is a good guy.
I trust that he does what's best for humanity.
My avatar totally needs augmented vision.

Helios wanted JC over Bob Page for a reason.

It would be cool if JC used the power of Helios to tell the whole world of the conspiracy that was conspiring on them, causing mass riots across Earth, another revolution occurs.
If only IW had a better story, but I will never play it because I deny it ever existed.

There would be some crazy inner conflict between JC and Helios, pretty interesting concept that I think of it now.
Helios chose JC over Pagey boy for a reason. Because JC will do the right thing.
Because JC will do the right thing.
Haven't played IW so don't know for sure. v:v:v
I personally think this is one of the better "General Games Discussion" threads, because you guys are nice and helpful. I hope more people buy the game also; this game is going to be awesome!

It was actually quite nice, but in terms of quality both DX1 and HR are better withing several orders of magnitude. IW is just the bad apple of the series.

But eventually someone would rediscover that technology and use it to their own ends, and then you might not be around to stop them.
Better you take control than chance letting a maniac do so.

That's why Tong wanted the whole place being blown up.

How does a computer know morality? Right from wrong? It can have stated objectives that choose the option that will be best to accomplish them, but Helios's objectives were clearly not "the right thing".
Helios wanted to dictate humanity in a manner that would lead to a utopia for everybody, and to do that it needed a human who it felt knew what "the right thing" was.
[editline]24th June 2011[/editline]
Helios is more than a simple computer system with given directives. It's an artificial intelligence.
Robots have feelings too, you know.
That's why Tong wanted the whole place being blown up.
I always figured that if the entire world was sent back into a dark age, the entire cycle of oppression would start over again. Those in the proper positions would do their best to seize disproportionate amounts of power over others, and you'd end up with the equivalent of another illuminati or majestic 12. At least the Helios/Denton merge would do their best to create a utopian society. No telling whether they would succeed or not though.
so Denton is to Helios as the Morality Core is to Glados?
Tell me something, does the game fuck you in the ass if you choose something different?
For example, I'm trying to do a Give me Deus Ex run and I want to get the most out of the exp by knocking out everyone. I choose the tranq rifle instead of the stun gun, and until now, I think I found about 20 rounds or more for the stun gun, and I think not even 10 extra for the tranq rifle.
If I pick the stun gun, will it switch to the tranq rifle or will the ammo I found now still be the same when I find it later?
Because its really annoying to have to wait for the energy to recharge to knock out 4 guys in a row.
I noticed less stun-gun ammo when I chose it. That's why I recommend staying with Tranq first mission than buy a stun gun for all the ammo you'd acquire during it.

All ammo in the same place I believe. I haven't noticed any random cache style things.

Oh shit...
Well, its a challenge. Makes it delicious even if annoying.

Huh... Well, I'll try both ways later.

I managed to go through the first mission without being spotted apparently on my first try. Went non-lethal all the way and had to wait for so long to recharge and take them down.
That new facebook unlock was just a military truck concept art.

See that's why I don't get it, it's a video game why does it matter if you stun them or beat them with a stick? The non lethal route just doesn't make sense to me.
