A lot of people bought a PS3 just to use Linux on it stop trying to make it seem like nothing.
Why would you buy a video game console just to browse the internet?
Why would you buy a video game console just to browse the internet?
And I would like a link to a website that held onto all the homebrew stuff :colbert: Because of as of yet, no one has given me solid proof it was used for homebrew.
I overheard a random girl in my writing class today talking about her boyfriend, and how he got pissed because his "PS3 got hacked and they stole all his info". You can tell this has become big issue when you hear about it in "the real world" from a girl that has no idea what PSN even is.
At my school I heard two guys complaining that they haven't played Black Ops in days because Anonymous hacked the PSN. *shrug* I have all the major systems plus all major handhelds with enough games to tide me over.
Ps3 has no money.
Ps3 has no money.
I can't see many people trusting their credit card details with Sony after this
GUYS, CHILL THE FUCK OUT. If you have any problems with PSN, report to this website: http://ispsnupyet.com/
GUYS, CHILL THE FUCK OUT. If you have any problems with PSN, report to this website: http://ispsnupyet.com/
Did you honestly just make this post, not understanding how serious this has the chance of being, just as a excuse to post that link.
No I understand fully well. I've got a PS3, luckily I never put my credit card info there. My friends are at risk though, hell, it was one of them that showed me the link. Seriously though, chill the fuck out.
GUYS, CHILL THE FUCK OUT. If you have any problems with PSN, report to this website: http://ispsnupyet.com/
A group of people have somehow found their way into shutting the entirety of Playstation Network down all while simultaneously retreiving all of the users who utilize said features personal information, including the financial information of many users who have signed up for Playstation Plus. This is bigger news than it's played out to be, believe me I am sure Sony is trying their hardest to keep this under wraps. When peoples information is stolen from a large company like this things don't tend to go well.
This doesn't affect me as much because I am part of the 360 & PS3 Master Race.
N4G is the worst website ever. Full of butthurt hypocrites: http://n4g.com/news/752149/psn-hackers-chat-logs/com "i hOpe thesE hackers DIE" Jesus Christ.
hahahhahah. Yeah sure, go sue a company which breaks the laws itself. Good luck! When you accepted the terms of agree you pretty much sold your soul to sony.
you are the dumbest moron ever
Sony should shut down everything. Everything, change the server, move the place and then have all PS3 owners to make new account.
Sony should shut down everything. Everything, change the server, move the place and then have all PS3 owners to make new account.
Incoming trophy and purchased content shitstorm.
Sony should shut down everything. Everything, change the server, move the place and then have all PS3 owners to make new account.
Or, this just shouldn't have happened in the first place
Or, this just shouldn't have happened in the first place
But it did so saying that is fucking pointless at this point.
Everyone should be compensated, even people withou PS+. Just like how "Other OS" was a selling point for people that wanted to use linux on their PS3s, so was PSN a selling point for people that want to play online. If Sony doesn't give everyone with a ps3 something for free they're going to lose costumers trust. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
N4G is the worst website ever. Maybe they should die.
With all the mention of suing and stuff I severely doubt sony will be able to refund everyone, let alone get their service running again.
poor sony
Well, I should change my passwords for my e-mail. Though lucky for me, I've only used my credit card on PSN like once (though I doubt the times you've used it makes a huge difference) and we used our account that we have set aside solely for online transactions. It barely has any money in it, so not a lot is at risk for me on that one. Though it is kinda scary, still, that they have all my other info. Though I doubt I'll be reached, out of all of the other millions of users. (Then again I'd imagine that's what everyone is saying)
With all the mention of suing and stuff I severely doubt sony will be able to refund everyone, let alone get their service running again.
banks protect users against frauds and even through all these lawsuits I highly doubt they're going to go down as a corporation because of this
With all the mention of suing and stuff I severely doubt sony will be able to refund everyone, let alone get their service running again.
Well, I doubt that they will refund everyone as well. Though I'd imagine that banks will be able to help out those who had very large sums of money lost through all this. Though I'd still imagine that PSN will be back to normal fairly soon, hopefully in the next few weeks. It will just leave Sony with a little bit of a tear in their reputation, and a little setback. Though they're large enough to recover from this, I think.
They leaked millions of peoples' private information and financial details through carelessness. Do you realise how big of a lawsuit is? They are going to be broke, and their reputation will be skullfucked.

They were hacked, there wasn't much they could do to stop the data being leaked once the attackers got hold of it. They can be sued for not telling us the day it happened though, it took them nearly a week to tell us.
I'm curious to what the outcome of this will be.

If the claims are true that Sony failed to protect private information by not encrypting details and such, then it's gonna be a huge lawsuit.
Can't wait to see this 2 months from now.

But at the moment that is all rumor and speculation so I am avoiding the topic until we have more facts.
I can see the PS3 sales going down the shitter from now on.
