[QUOTE=Specter;29503985]You'll probably never hear them say that. From a legal standpoint it's suicide as it admits a level a guilt and with all the potential lawsuits they're about to face they don't want to do that.[/QUOTE] I don't think you really know what you're talking about.
they should make the playstation 3 a free console for this blasphemy i dont want to pay for something that could break because of an outside source this is unfair
[QUOTE=Pernoccuous;29521153]they should make the playstation 3 a free console for this blasphemy i dont want to pay for something that could break because of an outside source this is unfair[/QUOTE] If I can recall, in the PSN TOS, Sony can shut down the service whenever they want and for as long as they want and there is not a goddamn thing you can do about it. Also, all claims of money being lost are bullshit. If you agreed to the TOS, it is not "unfair" and you are not paying for anything unless it is PS+ or one of the MMOs, and they will address the situation on those soon. Still, it is okay to be peeved off due to the outage (I know I am).
[QUOTE=Pernoccuous;29521153]they should make the playstation 3 a free console for this blasphemy i dont want to pay for something that could break because of an outside source this is unfair[/QUOTE] I heard rumor of this thing that can ruin all electronics. Better get your receipts cause Water's in town!

[QUOTE=RoFLWaFFLEZZ;29521413]anon is a bunch of /b/tards, nothing more I don't see why everyone goes "hurr anon is 1337 hax0r group xd"[/QUOTE] Well a bunch of /b/-tards have probably done a shit ton more than you have in your life. You have no reason to condescend.
[QUOTE=Take_Opal;29521499]Well a bunch of /b/-tards have probably done a shit ton more than you have in your life. You have no reason to condescend.[/QUOTE] Quality not quantity.
[QUOTE=Take_Opal;29521499]Well a bunch of /b/-tards have probably done a shit ton more than you have in your life. You have no reason to condescend.[/QUOTE] The most /b/ is capable of is getting a massive group of 13 year old kids together with LOIC.
[QUOTE=RoFLWaFFLEZZ;29521872]The most /b/ is capable of is getting a massive group of 13 year old kids together with LOIC.[/QUOTE] Yeah, and getting people arrested, organizing massive protests, things 13 year olds can do. [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=jaykray;29521811]Quality not quantity.[/QUOTE] I'm not talking collectively. But if you want to, my point still works in the specifics of the "group" Anonymous.
Who did they get arrested?I only know that guy with his cats
Yeah I heard about an animal abuser getting arrested but that's about it. Also they got 4chans creator into some voting list of sorts
[QUOTE=Thund3rdome;29426159]Sony did nothing wrong, move on.[/QUOTE] Sony didn't encrypt the files that were hacked.
I hope we get a sale or free PSN+ or free cloud or something. [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] If this happened to Steam we'd probably get something.
[QUOTE=Take_Opal;29521323]I heard rumor of this thing that can ruin all electronics. Better get your receipts cause Water's in town![/QUOTE] A guy at college mentioned that. I can't see exactly how it would work and ruin "all" electronics. Only the most sensitive of them if I am thinking of the same thing as you.
Day 11? If it takes this long, then they might be redesigning the whole network/system (hopefully). Also they are going to need alot more then few free giveaways of "games" related stuff (which they said they will on their blog) to rebuild their reputation after this. Also, Sony Japan is holding a press conference regarding the PSN issue tomorrow: [url]http://www.gamingunion.net/news/sony-to-hold-press-conference-regarding-psn-breach--4861.html[/url] "A press conference regarding PlayStation Network's breach in security will be held tomorrow at 2:00 PM local time (Japan)."

[QUOTE=mak13two;29531296]I doubt we'll get anything unless you've got a PS plus subscription.[/QUOTE] I don't mind the fact that all of my personal information was leaked, it's not like they're responsible for it or anything. /sarcasm
[QUOTE=Sharker;29531367]I don't mind the fact that all of my personal information was leaked, it's not like they're responsible for it or anything. /sarcasm[/QUOTE] Oh yeah, because a free 5 dollar game on PSN is gonna make up for the possible hundreds of dollars/pounds stolen from you. The service is free so that means Sony doesn't need to reimburse you anything. Its all in the Terms of Agreement. Besides, Sony have already talked about making it up to the Plus users only.

They should make it up to everyone on the PSN network and not just favor PSN+ members. I get they pay for something but they aren't paying for the online service, they pay for free games and exclusive content. I doubt they would compensate PSN+ and leave the other members with nothing. Non PSN+ members add to Sony's revenue too.
[QUOTE=FullStreak12;29528572]I hope we get a sale or free PSN+ or free cloud or something. [editline]30th April 2011[/editline] If this happened to Steam we'd probably get something.[/QUOTE] PSN has been a free service. They don't owe us anything, or at least unless you're a PSN+ user. While it would be cool to get something and it would be nice of Sony, I don't feel like they owe us anything. And if this had happened to Steam, it would have been a lot worse. More information would have been at stake (lots more credit card info) and more users' information being at stake. And that "something" wouldn't be much, even though Valve is good to make up for some of their fuckups.
Even though it sucks that all of this has happened to Sony, and obviously people will be upset that their personal info get's released...but seriously, in this day and age, it's not like your info isn't already out there. The only important information in my opinion was the credit card numbers, but they didn't even get the security codes correct? I'd say everyone needs to calm down from the hype-train that's been going on the past week or so. Just my two cents.
I personally dont give a flying rats anus-fuck about what sony does, i just wanna play online god damnit.
Wow this is still ongoing? :saddowns:

If they actually catch him, i bet the cell mates will have real fun with his skinny body. :q:

Uh-huh, Anonymous did it apparently.
It's just Q&A now
The newest Q&A [url]http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/30/press-release-some-playstation-network-and-qriocity-services-to-be-available-this-week/[/url] I would put it all in quote tags, but it is rather long. The tl/dr version is that they finally moved the psn to the new server host they mentioned a few months back, the psn will now have a bunch of security measures to prevent future attacks, and as a gift, they are doing a "Welcome back" in which every region will have a different free psn download (though it does not specify on what the download will be), one month of Plus for free, or an extra month added onto previously existing Plus accounts, and a month free of the music service. All in all, I find it incredibly awesome of Sony to do so much to try to win back their customer base.
