Hurr here's a month of coupons and some DLC you don't care about.
Ohh, and if you want to keep them, better shell out $50/y for a PS+ subscription.

If money wasn't stolen. You have no right to complain that a FREE service was down.
[QUOTE=Jedi_Rayne;29541511]The newest Q&A
[url]http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/30/press-release-some-playstation-network-and-qriocity-services-to-be-available-this-week/[/url]
I would put it all in quote tags, but it is rather long.
The tl/dr version is that they finally moved the psn to the new server host they mentioned a few months back, the psn will now have a bunch of security measures to prevent future attacks, and as a gift, they are doing a "Welcome back" in which every region will have a different free psn download (though it does not specify on what the download will be), one month of Plus for free, or an extra month added onto previously existing Plus accounts, and a month free of the music service.
All in all, I find it incredibly awesome of Sony to do so much to try to win back their customer base.[/QUOTE]
Ha, and people said we wouldn't get diddly squat.

Thank god for temp codes that have limited uses.
I can't wait until it goes back up though... I just want my free copy of Portal 2 already.
I want PSN+ so I can have game trials.

The Console works, The [b]free[/b] service implemented into the console doesn't work, He doesn't have the right to complain.

funny thing is I NEVER got the email saying my details may have been compromised
[QUOTE=Yukinari;29505653]I think about 5-10 bucks for your PSN account, and a store sale would be a good enough gesture.
Or an update to add features.[/QUOTE]
That would be nice since then I can get Undead Nightmare. :v:
My PS3 is still getting repaired :frown:
[QUOTE=Take_Opal;29521499]Well a bunch of /b/-tards have probably done a shit ton more than you have in your life. You have no reason to condescend.[/QUOTE]
I keep starting to like you, then you start saying shit like this. Stop.
The "raids" the /b/ manages to accomplish are the equivalent of having a bunch of kids standing in the toy aisle at wal-mart. All they're doing is having a bunch of people go do a very simple task, but since there's a lot of them, they get actual results.

At least it's something more than complaining on the internet v:v:v
is it back up now?
Wow
Did you really just ask that.
These are all things that have been said on the Sony conference livestream and I've bothered to write down while listening;
1) The PS3 will have a new Software (PS3 firmware) Update that you will be required to update to.
2) You will be required to change your password to go online on PSN.
3) You will only be able to change your details on the PS3 you created the account on, or via the use of the email linked to the account.
4) They will pay any loss of money due to cards being stolen and re-issue peoples credit cards if required.
5) Sony will not contact anyone in any way asking for details, including credit card details.
6) Current PSN and also current PSN+ users will receive 30 days of free PSN+ service
7) They are remaking the entire way the PSN servers work, including software to monitor for suspicious activity and deal with it accordingly, and they will be using a higher level of encryption.
8. There will be many more free things available to make up for the loss of PSN.
9) They have said they will make sure to get full PSN back within the month.
10) They have said they have been working on new features including different chat functionality.
11) They have confirmed it was, or part of the attack and data compromise was due to Anonymous.
12) They have also apologised for the loss of PSN access about a billion times.. lol.
13) 10 Million credit cards were in the database at the time of the attack, but they do now know if they were actually compromised, but they are making sure to be safe rather than sorry.
14) They have confirmed that certain data has been compromised.
15) They have said that 78 million accounts could have possible been compromised, but users often make multiple accounts, so 78 million people have not actually had their data compromised.
16) Many governments and law enforcement services are looking into this, including the FBI.
17) PSN users will be able to watch movies on the PS store for free temporarily (PSP and PS3)
18. They will be hiring a Chief Security Officer to be in charge of security and features that will be added.
19) They have said that all credit card details were stored in a different area of the database away from other details, and was encrypted.
20) They have also said they will be making sure PSN will be available in more countries, and more features for countries that have limited access.
21) Passwords were not encrypted, but were hashed.
22) No actual improper use of credit cards or other details due to the data compromise has been proven yet.
23) They have said there were multiple attacks on the network to try and obtain data.
24) They have said that anyone wishes to have their account removed/deleted they may contact sony and they will do so, and they will refund any unused money in the PSN wallet.
25) There will be access to unlimited music on Qriocity for PS3/PSP for existing subscribers.
26) They have said that they will restore PSN with limited functionality as soon as possible within the week, which includes online play.
That's awesome hopefully The Final Fantasy games will be free.
I'm not getting my 5 daily paints in GT5. fuck you, Sony
-Snip-
Thats awesome but why couldnt normal ones get like 10-5 days of PSN+?
OK so, just checking since I don't have access to my PS3 currently... we WILL be able to somehow change our passwords using the linked E-Mails without involving the PS3 whatsoever?
If anyone would clarify this, I'd be indebted.
