Really surprised me. They usually don't talk about video games except to interview old ladies who hate video games when new Grand Theft Auto games come out.

Still perplexed at those of you complaining. I honestly understand the frustration but really, unless you paid for the optional PS+ service, I dunno how you can complain that your free service is down for an extended period of time for the FIRST time in it's history. Hell the PSN has only been down for "maintainence" a handful of times since 2006.
I swear this mentality of over entitlement speaks leaps and bounds about this generation. It's like taking away a drug addict's heroin for a few hours and you flip a shit. Is it really that hard to live without online connectivity for an extended period of time? I mean really?
Honestly I'm surprised something like this hadn't happened sooner. It'll be up again, stop worrying and god forbid, play a game offline :O

People complain about the littlest of things all the time, so this is really nothing new to me.
I just want it to go back online so I can link my PS3 copy of Portal 2 to my Steam account. But for the time being, been playing it co-op on splitscreen with my brother and played halfway through the singleplayer.
yeah i've fared pretty well playing singleplayer and splitscreen w/o an internet connection
cooperative play with someone you can actually see and speak to makes things surprisingly easier

I can watch Netflix just fine. All you have to do is hit OK, wait for the maintenance message to come up, and then hit circle. You might have to do it a few times, but you should still be able to get in.
Luckily for me I was able to activate Portal 2 on Steam [i]before[/i] all this happened so I've just been playing the PC version. I feel bad for the 5+ people I know that didn't, though.
