Sony last said it would be up before Brink's release from their most recent update. Which is May 3rd. Edit: FUCK it's May 10th actually
They said some features (including online gameplay and shit) would be up this week. May 10th is next week. They also said "within a week" last Tuesday. Tomorrow (May 3rd) is a very, very likely date.
Has anyone else had their password changed for their email randomly? I can't seem to log into the email which I used to create a PSN account.

Sony warns of almost 25 million extra user detail theft. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-13256817 "A further 25 million gamers have had their personal details stolen as a result of security breaches at Sony. As well as the Playstation Network, which has been down since 20 April, the company has now taken its Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) service offline. It said credit card details and other personal information have been taken from an "outdated database". Last week, Sony admitted that the personal details of 77m Playstation users may have been stolen by hackers. "
wait so, theyve went back online, then got fucked over again? jees
It's a guess but almost definitely right.
Oh look, why is IT STILL DOWN [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline]
wait so, theyve went back online, then got fucked over again? jees
Is that what happened? Ok, fuck Sony. I'm going to BUY a 360 at this rate because of their shit. Anyways, bets on when It'll be back? I'm thinking this Friday...
Sony said today.
Well, they lied.
Well, they lied.
Sorry, but today isn't over. And the estimates were for North American servers coming back online. Not a full return of the services.
Sorry, but today isn't over. And the estimates were for North American servers coming back online. Not a full return of the services.
Difficult to judge because I am in Europe, not North America. :frown:
wait so, theyve went back online, then got fucked over again? jees
SOE is separate from PSN
Welp I guess no PSN today at the rate things are going
Welp I guess no PSN today at the rate things are going
Yeah :frown:
I was so happy once I heard it would be back up today. I shut off the PS3 with disappointment.
Well is it going to be today or not? I'm getting impatient.
30 minutes left of today, odds are against us. GMT master race.
It's only 4PM here. Still possible if the main shit's on the west coast, and might happen in the middle of night if it's in Japan.
-snip- Misguided by another source that I wont be using anytime soon.
Read a page back, they already tried bringing it up today and the hackers striked again and took additional 25mil users info with them, so they took it down.
You're an idiot. Please don't post in this thread any more until YOU actually read it. It was all in the same attack, they didn't "strike again". Sony just caught onto it yesterday and as a result SOE was shut down. https://www.soe.com/securityupdate/
Read a page back, they already tried bringing it up today and the hackers striked again and took additional 25mil users info with them, so they took it down.
Have you read anything. They can't take "additional" info, they took all of it the first time. The other strikes were SOE not PSN.
I'm getting frustrated with this shitty downtime, it's really fucking pissing me off. I'm going to ring them tomorrow and ask when this fucking wank shit is gunna be back up.
I'm getting frustrated with this shitty downtime, it's really fucking pissing me off. I'm going to ring them tomorrow and ask when this fucking wank shit is gunna be back up.
They probably won't tell you.

Best you can do is monitor the blogs/media outlets. Keep in mind it can still come back up today. And by the way, before losing patience, imagine how much shit they're doing right now to try to prevent future incidents. They're creating an upgraded system, new firmware, dispatching emails and doing press conferences, and trying to keep the customers happy... it's a lot to juggle in such a small amount of time.

It was "2 days" then it was "Next week" and now it's "Some time this week" make your mind up sony you spastics. There's people that are having to go out and communicate with people in real life and they arn't to happy about it!

One of the largest cyber attacks in history has occurred and they're the victim. If it were I, I'd take every precaution to make sure it doesn't happen again, which I'm sure they're doing.
Yeah kinda bummed we aren't hearing anything today, when they kept repeating May 3rd
But why was our information stored on a database which was outdated? What do they even mean by outdated in that article? Did they forget to update their security software?
Thank god I never used credit cards on that thing. PSN cards FTW!
Fuck the hackers, it wasn't like most of us PSN users were stuck in a concentration camp and hoping for salvation. I'm all for homebrew, but do we seriously need to be able to install linux on a 5+ year old machine?
Read this While not a important update as most people would hope they found a file that was added to the online service, simply titled "Anonymous" and opening it showed the tag line "We are legion", Sony is now blaming it on Anonymous who in return is insisting they had nothing to do with it for once claiming it's just a scapegoat that someone used to put them blame on them. They're genuinely angry at being blamed.
