I find it stupid that you only got 3 hours to change the password when you get the email. I got it in the middle of the night. And i don't know if it's worth sending an another request right now since i'm going to work in a couple of hours.

I STILL can't get on Playstation Store. Live in Alberta Canada, really pissing me off, the rest of PSN is back up for me and I can't access my bullshit alt accounts for different continents/countries because I set them all up with fake infos.

So, theres reports that the latest firmware update a few days back is causing PS3's to overheat/get really hot (not break, but cause issues like freezing never the less).
And I have to say, I think theres some truth to this. Although, the heat seems to be causing most problems in the older models, my slims fine but its still running very hot.
After the update (before PSN went live), I was playing Uncharted 2 and some Killzone 3 on singleplayer, I only played for say 30 minutes to an hour max before turning it off and unplugging the HDMI back into the 360 so I could play fifa with my brother.
As I did this, first thing I thought was "Holy shit thats hot". I have NEVER felt the air coming out so hot, or the ps3 itself being so hot (literally the unit felt really warm), at least not after 30-60 minutes play. Ands it been like this every time recently.
All I could think of is that this only began to occur after the firmware update.

My 60gb practically melted after 7 months of casual use. The fan just decided to break.

In terms of repair, that's very minor unless you ran it on full load with no fans working and fucked up everything...
360's had/have soldering issues that caused serious repairs to be done.

80GB Fat PS3 right here. The only problem I had was my HDD getting corrupted and losing all of my data on it, which was my fault anyway.
got a 60GB fat, after 2 years got the YLOD. got a refurbished 60GB fat now.
40GB fat. Got it around 4 years ago or so. Never had a single problem but the fan has recently been getting very loud no matter what game I play. It used to just be during GTA.
My 60G died a couple months back, 160g slim reporting in.
