The game itself is really worth it if you are into space games like that. However I don't know if there is a problem with the steam version of the game.
But X3 Terran Conflict is better than X3 Reunion, if you are thinking of buying it you should get that one. Another thing you should know is that it can be pretty boring and difficult to get into.
