X3 Terran Conflict sounds like what you want or maybe Mount and Blade Warband. Both very good games which should give much more than 15 hours - most people play these games for over 100 for one playthrough.

I got it retail and stopped playing halfway through. I didn't like it. I can't even say what exactly I didn't like (apart from the horrible engine).

I heard those games are only for super hardcore RPG/spacesim freaks and they have a very steep learning curve. That isn't what I looked for either but I'll give the demos a try, thanks! I forgot to mention that there shouldn't be too much micro-management (I always ignore alchemy and the numerous items in games that boost resistance against a certain element (especially if they're only temporary)).

Yeah it already went on sale, I bought the complete pack while it was, as well as fallout 3.
Two Worlds 2 jumped back down to 17$, it's on the recap too.
