Anyone coming to the Facepunch channel? Let's get a game going!
Don't call heroes "champions". It makes the thread seem like a presentation to LoL players instead of a presentation to everyone.

And there are no tanks. And agility heroes aren't always carries. Neither are intelligence heroes only nukers and support. And supports don't usually have big nukes.

And there are no strength support heroes.

Other than that, great thread.

Champion, toon, hero, character, my dick, your dick, whatever you want to refer to them as. It really doesn't matter. I specifically avoid trying to present it as a way to pull in LoL players.
Saying there are no tanks is a lie. I didn't say all agility heroes are carries. I also didn't say all intel heroes are only nukers and support. Yes, there are two strength support heroes: Jereziah and Accursed.
Okay then, you got me on the strength supporters.
From MY perspective you said that. My perspective might be screwed, I don't know.
This is not a time to nag.
Holy shit people are massive dicks.
I go and buy 2 health pots by accident at the start, and they inmediatly disband the game because that is an obvious indication that I am bad while I'm quite good at LoL.
Well... :(

Being good at LoL is NOTHING like being good at HoN. Going from LoL to HoN is like going from riding a tricycle to operating a fucking tank.

Someone could have DC'd while loading. :x
My basic starting items are three HP pots, two mana, one Homecoming Stone.
I have heard that the only thing you learn in LoL, which you can use in HoN is lasthitting.

Homecoming stone as a first item is not very good. You don't need that many potions either.
You might want to get some new basic starting items. The usual build everyone gets is:
2x minor totem
2x 3 stats items (depends on the hero. If it's squishy you get str etc.)
1x pot
1x rune of blight
It gives the regen and the stats you need to get harassed and counterharass in lane.
And stats are always good for lasthitting.

I played five HoN games with a friend and then we played a quick LoL game to wrap up the night and I had 100 creep kills in 20 min. Last hitting feels good man.
dryvnt being a cool dude gifted me a hon account of my own.
thanks yo.

No they actually said in chat "blabla bad he got two pots stop game" or whatever.
Also, I mean by being good at LoL is that it's not exactly like I go in blind not knowing what the hell DotA is all about.
-snip- doublepost
You know you're pro when you run out and solo players in a group, then you juke your way out with 10HP left.
Much rage ensues.
The thing I like most about this game is the psychological torment and strategies you employ against your opponents. You can certainly sense immediately when your playing an opponent who is less confident at playing than yourself. As soon as you realise it you can royally fuck up there game by continually exploiting the players weakness and willingness to retreat.
Deadwood players, for example, are generally more forward and confident with attacks, very intimidating, and end up bagging a lot of kills typically.

What the hell is juke
word of advice to LoL players, this is much much harder (at least at the lower levels)
as in, nowhere near as new player friendly.
Juking is where you go places in the map that aren't visible to the naked eye and newer players don't know about.

The Juking paths are shown in white. Trees block line-of-sight and thus break auto-attacks and auto following, if you dodge around a tree with a juking maneuver you can seriously fuck up anyone who is trying to follow you through the trees. If you're lucky you can even teleport out of a dead end or turn back and walk straight past the person following you. I recommend learning all of the hotspots.
You can also use them to plan incredible ambushes as well as for escaping, especially with the likes of Devourer.
E: See above.
I wish I could play Matchmakign with you guys :saddowns:
just bought this game went 1-11-5 as predator hell yes

For anyone looking for an in-game guide mod which tells you to what to level and what you should buy as starting items/mid-game/late and some alternatives.
I use it every time!
Get this:
http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=25883
Then install this (I use it!):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7428520/XXL%20Hero%20Guide%20Ingame/xxl_hero_guide_ingame.honmod
Just drag and drop the .honmod file into the HoN Mod Manager thing, right click the file apply. Go to file > apply mods and you're set!

Look at this fucking bullshit. See it? If you don't, it's fucking Deadwood with a LEVEL 5 CODEX. He fucking kill stole ALL GAME. NO ONE got fed but him and we fucking lost because of it.
This shit is maddening.
Oh, about the sale:
The sale ends at the end of December 26 (after 11:59 PM EST). You still have a full day to take advantage of the offers and to tell your friends !
Sucks really hard when people do that (Been guilty of KSing a lot myself haha, but I only do it if I'm certain that we are going to win!), but I can't see any real hard carry on your team who could pit against their CD, Maliken and Valkyrie (maybe only Pandamonium/Fayde).
Is KSing looked down upon greatly in HoN?
Most Lol players don't consider it a big deal at all unless you sit on your ass and save your ult for it, because of assist gold and the greater good of the team. Or are assists not worth very much gold and you should try to feed your carry?
The game is down to ten bucks until tomorrow and I don't have the cash for it....fuuuuuuck!

I should have seven kills more than I did, which would have added up to me being able to carry. Deadwood did nothing but kill steal then Portal Key away. He was plainly not from the US because any time he used his mic (four times?) he was yelling in a different language.

Feeding the carry is a lot more key in HoN than it is in LoL. In LoL, a lot of people can carry. Anyone who gets fed can be a threat. It's because spell power scales in LoL making spell casters viable carries. In HoN, it's much more finite as to who can win you a game. A fed Deadwood COULD do it, but that guy was a fucking moron and an asshole who just wanted kills and did fuck all besides KS.
(And I'm not saying spell casters can't carry in HoN, but it's less likely than a high end agility hero.)
