Heroes of Newerth - Insta-lock Scout, level Codex to 5 - Games

So who's the best player on here? I know it's relative, but I go by MMR as the only factor in MMR is you, you're the only constant, sure you get bad teams sometimes but you go against bad teams too, MMR is really the only possible to determine someones skill level accurately (albeit, you can have a losing streak or a winning streak, but with enough games played you will get back to your average). I'm at 1700 MMR now, 1900 Public. I average 1780 in MMR I believe. I consider myself a good player. I usually play support + initiators, gankers sometimes. Carries I find boring and unspectacular. (Semi-carries can be fun).

FPH? I'm confused... Also what items are bad.

HoN has more depth and a higher difficulty ceiling, it's not an opinion either it's just fact due to many things. Although LoL is free and easier to learn therefore it's the more popular game. Neither are bad games, both I enjoy, but I enjoy them for different reasons. LoL I can just get in a game and have fun, not care about my builds or if I win or lose. HoN I usually play with friends (or by myself) and I try to win, I play my best.

Yea I play LoL when I need to relax and not think.

New Tremble hero released tomorrow looks fun, although not fun at the same time. With the ultimate being a micro-manageable pet, that just strikes me as annoying, never been an RTS fan. Same reason I'm not a fan of Tundra, I build Tundra as I would a melee carry, runed axe > BKB > frostburn > savage mace, it actually works well. Skip runed axe and go for frostburn first if I'm ganking heavily.

$10 bucks for a DotA clone that has a Linux client? Shut the fuck up and take my damn money.

The bird you send off like a ward somewhere and forget, the cat you just keep with you and auto-attack for the slow. Tremble seems like a cool twist to Broodmother, who had "fire and forget" pets. They need to either make all pets faster or the same speed as the hero, or have pets not clip into other pets/you, playing Ophelia without ghost marchers is hell, having to stop every 10 seconds and manually click yourself around your pets is just a major inconvenience.

Ganking. carrying, initiating, can side lane,middle or solo 2v1, has both a DOT and a slow, she farms amazingly, is ranged, has one of the best blinks (besides the cast time of it), amazing AoE and single target damage, scales well, good base stats, a fair attack speed/projectile and base damage. Honestly, she's just a great hero overall, just in-front of Pharaoh and Nymphora on my list.

Someone mind telling me what "coins" are used for? I thought by buying the game you got access to everything...what else is there?

Keep in mind you can only by aesthetic items, they do not change gameplay. You get silver coins by playing, these can be used to buy any shop item, usually used for game icons (avatars), different models for heroes, announcers and a few other things. Gold coins are the same but are bought or gotten in other ways (competitions, events etc.) but gold coins gain an advantage on some items over silver coins. They released an announcer pack which cost 6800 silver coins or (I think) around 800 gold coins, this is either a thousand games or $20, this also pissed a lot of people off as S2 were basically giving everyone who doesn't want to pay for content the middle finger, they'll probably continue to do this, they call them "premium items" as mentioned earlier. But again they do not affect gameplay in anyway, just add models, sounds and other things, no advantage given.

Do you have any LoL/DoTA experience? I assume you do, most people only choose to play HoN if they enjoyed LoL or DoTA, otherwise I'd recommend you play LoL first. I've played league of legends for over a year and always wanted to get HoN just to change things up once in a while. I was going to buy it during the Christmas sale but I bought Arma 2 :p. If Steam does not refund me before the 27th ill contact you and see if we can work something out.
