I think it's kind of odd how hard this game is to get into. I've reffered 5 friends, and none of them have lasted more than two weeks. The game just is not forgiving to people who are new.

I liked this game when I started because I had played LoL so I had a general idea of what to do I know someone's gonna say blah blah LoL's so much easier so different, but really coming from LoL I had an idea of what a carry, support, and initiator are, etc. Whereas someone totally new would be totally confused by even something like last-hitting

my problem with hon is that there's not a very good visual definition of what does what in it, you get things that look like they should be tanks and end up being hard carries...

There are also statistics, Carry, Ganker, Initiator, Pusher, Survivability, Support, Disabler. Which explain what's the best role for a hero and the general item direction he needs, but mostly it's a game where you need to learn it yourself and with the crappy community it's harder to stick with it because you get flamed all the time if you die a lot. Nigma's guides are also great if you want to learn how to ward or lane. Don't carry or think you can hard carry as anyone. They require you to farm endlessly and should stack creeps which you won't know

The warding guide was helpful and I like semi-carries and initiators best from what I've played

So i have a question about supports: do they never farm ever? And are they just ward bitch all game or do they get to get some survivability or something too? I can already tel that since spells don't scale (which I originally hated but now I really really like), people like pyro and Witch Hunter are supports because they have CC and can burst someone down to low HP and let carries get the killing blow bounty gold moni, but are there any nuker type champs or champs who deal damage through abilities that are allowed to have items, farm, or kill?

For example Witch Slayer isn't only good support he's also a great solo-laner that can take over games if you get a fast portal key. Pyromancer scales pretty good with items because of the attack speed from fervor, same goes for Aluna(which by the way scales extremely well with items). Theres also torturer whose damage scales from having good mana regen and the survivability to be able to stay close to enemies. Pretty much all heroes with few exceptions can do something worthwhile with some farm, it's just a question of who needs the farm more than the other.
