I'm pretty sure the cancer cure took lots of research and experimentation, hardly a good gameplay mechanic.
I'm pretty sure the cancer cure took lots of research and experimentation, hardly a good gameplay mechanic.
What about the Gauss Rifle ammunition? The Monolith has tons of it laying around the CNPP and in some selected areas South of it.
Speaking of artifacts, I would kind of like if NPC's used artifacts like the player does. For example if an NPC has a "Flash", artifact, he is really fast and if they use some uber bullet-repelling artifacts, the bullets literally bounce away from them and you'd have to knife them(if they're enemies, that is) and so on.Also, stalkers who wear psy-prot artifacts have less chance of getting turned into zombies by controllers or psychic emissions. When the NPC's use the artifacts, you can clearly see them glowing from the suits containers. Also, when the player is wearing artifacts, he would attract more hostile attention from bandits and opportunistic Loners who want to gank him and take his artifacts. The better artifacts you have in use, the more likely you are to be accosted by criminal scum. e: Ooh ooh, and I want Stalkers to upgrade their suits and buy weapons as well. Like, if they have a lot of money, they'll go upgrade their suits when they go to a base with a technician the next time. They should have some of the upgrades change the suits visually when appropriate so you can see if they're carrying armor reinforced with extra plates or extra slots for grenades in their battle vests.
Could make some interesting medical advancements with a Soul. Maybe supply the eggheads with enough healing artifacts and they manage to produce a bunch of prototype medkits or drugs. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] Or use the principles of a Crystal in an environmental suit for better radiation protection.
Could make some interesting medical advancements with a Soul.
Isn't that thing described as such a powerful artifact it's able to revive the dead?
It's nothing special, controllers do it all the time.
Isn't that thing described as such a powerful artifact it's able to revive the dead?
Who knows. A newly dead body might be able to be brought back with proper application of the increased cell regeneration effects might give a good jolt. Probably have plenty of brain damage but could work as a nice defibrillator.
It's nothing special, controllers do it all the time.
Contary to popular belief, the zombies in the STALKER games have their brains screwed for long enough until they became shambling weirdos who can barely complete basic tasks, but are hostile to all enemies. They don't die, they just become super retarded brainwashed people.
So yeah, for gameplay elements, you bring a bunch of artifacts to a scientist and tell them what you want done with them, they give you an enhanced suit or consumable item or upgrade a shooter or whatever. Depending on what artifacts you brought them and the quality of those artifacts, you can get a very nice upgrade or one that just works the same as if you were wearing the artifact, only it saves you a belt spot.
Yes of course, the regular zombies but then there's those ghost ones.
Ghost zombies were not meant to be undead, just mutated. Regular zombies were massively degenerated versions of zombified stalkers anyway
I thought the regular zombies were non-combat personnel like office workers or scientists.
I find Ghost Zombies to be something similar to the Poltergeists.
I'm pretty sure the cancer cure took lots of research and experimentation, hardly a good gameplay mechanic.
Achievement unlocked: Cured Cancer.
Ghost zombies were not meant to be undead, just mutated. We know that the AK ARE INNACURATE stereotype is funny but god damn it stops being funny when a TMP is a more viable option for medium-long range engagements than an AK-74. Seriously, I missed an execution shot with one of them. The only way to kill someone in the zone iwht a 5.45 is to drop a crate of them on that someone.
You can fire an MG42 standing in real life
Having done so, I can say with confidence that it's a bitch and a half to manage the recoil, let alone aim, and it takes great physical strength and plenty of practice/training to do at all. It was never intended to be used in such a manner- the M60, which copied many elements of the MG42, has less than half the rate of fire, just to make it possible to fire while standing with something approximating accuracy. Also, the MG42 is big, complex, heavy, and not really something you'd expect to see in the Zone. Edit: On another note, what I'd like to see in a STALKER 2 would be actual artificial life for the other Stalkers. There aren't supposed to be many people in the Zone, so it's a bit odd that half of them seem like faceless goons that do nothing but stand at attention (see: Duty). It would be interesting for every AI human to have tasks to complete, to buy and sell artifacts and equipment, to go searching for both, to explore, to complete missions, etc.

It's just that The Zone in CoP is so fucking empty you can never see them do that.
Oh god, using CoP Redux, and it is incredible. It's everything I wanted out of CoP.
You brightened my day up! I'm glad you're enjoying it :)
Someone post more Stalker related content.
If a guy had 6 Souls and three Bubbles on him, wouldn't he basically live almost eternally as Souls would keep buffing his cell regeneration?
Probably. But I'm sure that no stalker ever had six souls and three bubbles at the same time.
Probably. But I'm sure that no stalker ever had six souls and three bubbles at the same time.
He'd more likely sell them and buy vodka.
He'd more likely sell them and buy vodka.
I'm sure that he'd have a long lasting supply of vodka after those artifacts. Don't they all cost ~20k rubles each?
I'm sure that he'd have a long lasting supply of vodka after those artifacts. Don't they all cost ~20k rubles each?
Oh, you wish. Barkeep buys them for nigh 3000 roubles, the cheap bastard :argh:
