I'm loving me some CoP Redux, but there's one problem: buckshot. This shit is totally useless! I figured that with a buckshot loaded over under I'd be able to blast dogs from the safety of Skadovsks keel, but the spread is so wide, and the damage so minimal it barely scratches them. How improve?

Maybe I should have made it more clear, I was looking for a solution like modifying the shotgun values. I just want my shotguns to act in a slightly more realistic manner. A full length hunting shotgun should be able to blast animals with buckshot well past 50 meters in real life, but even in redux I literally have to be right on top of a dog if you want a one shot kill.

I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised by how well the next stalker game will run, here is my logic:
Since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is going multi-platform, there is going to be a huge challenge creating a game for the XBOX 360 and PS3 because of memory constraints. Crytek said that it was not GPU power, but memory constraints that were the hardest to overcome when developing the CryEngine 3. GSC will face the same problem, but as a result, PC's with far more memory are going to benefit because of the massive optimization for consoles. Any questions?

I can see 2 outcomes based on this. The console version will be an entirely different game because of memory restrictions, or the pc version will be held back.
What are the best mods for Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat? Since I've been using Stalker Complete, but I really don't like it and looking at screens in this thread those with mods generally seem better.

There was a Q&A on their facebook page posted 5 months ago saying that the PC is the primary platform that the game is being developed on and that the game will be in no way restrained graphically.

Well they denied that any gameplay mechanics would be dumbed down either. So basically they were implying that they'll make it for PC and then port it for consoles the best way they can.
Probably like when they ported Deus Ex 1 from PC to consoles : the inventory system for example was completely different.
e: But whatever they say, I believe that it [i]will[/i] most definitely affect the level design in that the areas in CoP are probably the bigger than what we'll see in the multiplat.

I don't know what to say... I agree with the latter half of your post definitely.
I guess it has to do with map design more than the actual size. For example, the swamps in Clear Sky feel bigger than what they actually are and they can be pretty difficult to navigate when you're playing the first time.
Just hoping that [b]if they include a building on a map, they should damn well make it accessible as well[/b] . It's pretty aggravating when you go to the Ranger Station or Iron Forest in Call of Pripyat, nearly everything is inaccessable.
