It's supposed to be XP, Firefox and Finland. [editline]30th May 2011[/editline] It's probably because I used a library computer [editline]30th May 2011[/editline] GSC and optimization in the same sentence? lol E3 is a very mainstream gaming event, if GSC attends they'll have a small booth and that's all. No real "unveiling".
I thought you used 7 like the cool people. Firefox and 7 masterrace.
Switching to 7 when I can bother backuping shit from my main HD IE in two years when I'll have to do it due to upgrading my mobo
A Swedish game magazine just published this! (translated for non-scandinavians): http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fz.se%2Fartiklar%2Fnyheter%2F20110530%2Fe3-topp-30-stalker-2
So is that them saying that STALKER 2 will be at E3, or they're hoping for it?
It seems they are saying GSC will be there. That pipe dream of the main hall shutting the lights down, then blasting Firelake through the speakers while showing off the Stalker 2 trailer. Oh man.
Oh god I got goosebumps.
I hope all this is a lull before the storm.
So, how about them snorsks?

Damn Redux mod and it's sentimental PDAs. :arghfist::saddowns:
:signings:
Uh-oh... I just checked the E3 homepage and GSC is not among the exhibitors.

Then nothing. Then some more nothing. Then after a few seconds, you can hear that eerie noise, that mellow pitch just before a blowout. A few seconds pass. Then the first wave hits. The hall trembles. The million dollar speaker system almost cracks. Roaring like only the Nuclear Power-plant can, everyone holds their hands to their ears to keep some semblance of hearing. Silent screams can be seen among the few not quick enough to shield their ears. The room is fully lit up by a slightly distorted picture of the zone from the main characters perspective. The roaring subsides. "Yeah, you should have been there when the shit really hit the fan", says the main characters buddy. "We were fighting to gain entrance to Limansk, just after Clear Sky paved the way, over that bridge when the real big one started." Then a flashback and then it shows off the new engine, new environments and other stuff.
For all we know they might be with their publisher (if they're attending).
THQ and Deep Silver will be present. BitComposer won't. Let's see...
God I hope they're not with THQ. Maybe they'll self-publish entirely this time.
They'll probably stick with their CS/CoP publishers.
Damn Redux mod and it's sentimental PDAs. :arghfist::saddowns:
Extended: No one will feed his 2 cats and they will eventually die of hunger. He's the only town surgeon. He was a few days away from mastering all of the Goldberg Variations after years of practice. He was 7 episodes away from finishing Six Feet Under. He had heard that the ending would move him like nothing on tv had ever done before. He was going to have a first date on friday with the girl he had awkwardly flirted with for 1 year in the office. He never started that diet he postponed for so many years. He swore he would die fit. He always promised himself he will eventually, one day, say "I love you" to his father. Never got to it. It's his birthday, his friends planned a surprise party for him and they all are at his home waiting for him to get there. His 5 year old girl, who he hasn't seen in 3 years, is there, waiting.
Rodent mutant of the year 2011,
The Paravin PDA was a nice toutch.

Also, I wonder if we'll go further North or will they just retcon the world so that Chernobyl is next to Dead City or Limansk?
They'll probably stick with their CS/CoP publishers.
They self published in the East for CoP, so maybe now they have more capital from sales of CoP, they can self publish elsewhere too. BitComposer seemed ok though, I'd be alright with them.
What was wrong with THQ exactly?
What was wrong with THQ exactly?
They dictated most of the development and ended up dumbing down a lot of cool things, apparently.
They dictated most of the development and ended up dumbing down a lot of cool things, apparently.
More like GSC had an impossible project they would never finish, THQ trimmed it down pretty radically many times during the development to make it an actually realistic goal.
More like GSC had an impossible project they would never finish, THQ trimmed it down pretty radically many times during the development to make it an actually realistic goal.
Well, yea, that too. Still, it could have been a far bigger, and maybe even better game if it was ever finished the way GSC wanted. Then again, considering how much it took, I wouldn't be suprised if STALKER would have became the next Duke Nukem...
STALKER dev time was already hellishly long, imagine if they had tried to actually complete their original goals It would still be in development
Yea, hopefully they won't stretch it out this time.
Yea, hopefully they won't stretch it out this time.
Eh, I wouldn't mind waiting for another year if we got new areas or features to compensate for the wait time. Maybe it's the nagging feeling in the back of my head filling me with fear that they'll dumb it down, no matter hard I rage silently at trolls who play these fears against me, telling them that "GSC won't let us down, you can be sure of that". Also, I'm hoping that they'd release the Call of Pripyat design documents like they did with the STALKER: CS/"Anarchy Cell"-documents.
I think that Sergey considered about coop, but with the current AI system used in X-Ray it is impossible to synchronize the AI to multiple players at once.
Well crap. I would've loved even if there was some simple co-op survival maps where you try to hold out against hordes of zombies+mutants/monolith. Or keep a VIP from getting assassinated by Mercs. But since the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games are so wildly different from each other, it's kind of hard to tell in advance whether it would be good for co-op or not.
